During this time, the Spirit may lead us a particular passage of our devotion
materials or Scripture in the Bible or show us a picture or bring something to
mind etc.

on it. Once you come across a verse that strikes you, do not proceed on.
Application (How?): Being to ponder on the verse(s) and ask God to reveal
to you what He is wanting to tell you. Ask yourself how the verse can be
applicable. Write down what you feel God is telling you in your journal book.
VII. PETITION
After digesting the Word of God, we should spend some time in prayer for
ourselves depending on what the Spirit of God is saying to us or maybe it is a
deeper work He wants to accomplish in us.
VIII. THANKSGIVING
Close your devotion with songs of praise and thanksgiving for what God has
done or for the things He has revealed to you or the Word of encouragement
He has given you.
CONCLUSION
Personally, I always feel that devotion is a time where we spend with God to
foster a more intimate relationship. It is an occasion where we give God our
whole-hearted attention. As such, I do not recommend that you carry out
intercession or thorough (in depth) study during this time. Instead, we
should set aside another time for intercession and in-depth Bible study
separately.
