Creating your own object
Creating a logo with a clapboard
Step 1. Create a rounded rectangle using rounded rectangle shape

tool.
Step 2. Enable subtract form shape area form the top bar.
>> Create a rectangle using rectangular shape tool.
Press

>> Create a thin horizontal rectangle using
rectangular shape tool and place it above the previous shape.
Step 4. (Thin Layer) Using pen tool create a shape right above
the thin rectangle as shown in the image.
Step 5. Create a New layer

>> Create a tiny vertical rectangle using rectangular
shape tool.

Step 6. Press Ctrl+T.

>> Right click the layer
>> and select distort. Adjust nodes to get the
shape as shown.
Step 7. Duplicate layer (Alt) several times and place as shown

in the image.
>> Select all these pattern layers and from layer
palette select "new group from layers" (Ctrl E)
Step 8. Duplicate this group.

>> Press Ctrl+T. Right click the grouped layer and
select flip vertical. Place as shown in the image.
Step 9. Select all layers included in the upper portion of the

clapboard. Ctrl+T and rotate a bit.
Step 10. Select all layers. Press Ctrl+T. Right click the layer
and select perspective. Adjust nodes to get the shape as shown.

Step 11. Select all layers. Press Ctrl+T. Rotate it

anticlockwise.
Step 12. Select the main rounded rectangle shape of the

clapboard. Double click the layer to open layer style window.
Apply layer style with the settings shown.
Step 13. Apply same layer style to upper part of the clapboard.

Step 14. Type company name with a nice font. Place it above the
clapboard and rotate to place as shown in the image.
Creating Clipart Style Computer Logo

Step 1. Start by creating a rounded rectangle using rounded
rectangle shape tool.
Step 2. Press Ctrl+T. >> Right click the layer and select
perspective. Adjust nodes to get the shape as shown.
Step 3. Duplicate layer. Scale up the rounded rectangle lower in

layer order.

Step 4. Using direct selection tool select the nodes of left

hand side. Drag towards left to give it a monitor shape.
Step 5. Create a rounded rectangle for the keyboard using

rounded rectangle shape tool.
Step 6. Press Ctrl+T. Right click the layer and select distort.
Adjust nodes to get the shape as shown.
Step 7. Select both the monitor layers and rotate it. Also
rotate keyboard layer as shown in the image.
Step 8. Using pen tool in path mode create wire connecting

keyboard and monitor.

Step 9. Select brush tool and choose a 5 pixel solid brush

settings. >> Create a new layer and in path window click stroke
path with brush.
Step 10. Select the screen layer. Double click the layer to open
layer style window. Apply layer style with the settings shown.
Step 11. Reduce the fill value to 0% from the layer palette.
This will make it hollow keeping layer style intact.
Step 12. Copy the layer style and apply to all the layers. Make
sure the fill value of every layer is 0%.

Step 13. Create some dots for the keyboard buttons using brush
tool.
Step 14. Apply the same layer style.
Creating Mallet XP style icon for Auctions
Step 1. Start by creating a rectangle using rectangular shape

tool.
Step 2. Press Ctrl+T. Right click the layer and select warp.
From warp presets at the top bar select bulge.

Step 3. Create two ellipse shapes using elliptical shape tool

and place on each side of the previous shape.
Step 4. Select & merge the three shapes.
Step 5. Create a vertical rounded rectangle using rounded

rectangle shape tool. Move this layer below the upper portion
layer in layer palette.
Step 6. Select the upper part layer. Double click the layer to
open layer style window. >> Enable gradient overlay. Click
gradient and create a gradient like this in gradient editor.

Step 7. Select the lower portion layer of the gavel. Double

click the layer to open layer style window. Apply layer style
with the settings shown.
Step 8. Create an ellipse using elliptical shape tool.

Step 9. Right click the layer in layer palette and click

rasterize. >> Enable lock transparent pixels from layer palette.
>> Apply a black to white gradient in linear mode.
Step 10. Change the layer mode to screen.
Step 11. Similarly Create two vertical ellipse shapes using

elliptical shape tool and place on either side. rasterize and
fill with black to white gradients. Change layer mode of left
one to screen and right one to multiply.
Step 12. Similarly add glassy highlights to the handle layer of

the gavel.

Step 13. Using pen tool in path mode create an arc shape.
Step 14. Select brush tool and a 3-pixel wide solid brush
setting. >> Create a new layer. In path window click stroke path
with brush button.
Step 15. Similarly create an arc outline on the other side of

the gavel.
Step 16. Select all layers. Press Ctrl+E to merge the layers
together. Ctrl+T and rotate a few degrees.

Step 17. Select custom shape tool and from top bar select a 10
point star shape.
Step 18. Create a new layer below gavel layer and create the
shape as shown in the image. Reduce opacity of this shape to
50%.
Creating Batman Logo
Step 1. In this tutorial we'll create batman logo using basic

shapes and vector shape modes etc. Lets start by creating a
black ellipse shape using ellipse tool.
Step 2. Duplicate the layer and transform using Ctrl+T. Scale

this ellipse down a little bit.

Step 3. Fill it with yellow color.
Step 4. Duplicate yellow ellipse layer and scale down using

Ctrl+T as done in previous step.
Step 5. Fill this ellipse with black color.
Step 6. Now we'll convert this innermost black ellipse to bat

shape. Select ellipse tool and enable "subtract from shape area"
from top panel.

Step 7. Draw a vertical ellipse over black ellipse. this will

cut a partial whole in black ellipse.
Step 8. Select direct selection tool (A) ( use the black arrow
tool not the hollow arrow icon to select the whole ellipse ).
Click on vertical ellipse to select all nodes together. Press
Ctrl+T and rotate anticlockwise. Press enter to accept the
transform.
Step 9. Press Alt, click and drag the vertical ellipse to create
a copy.
Step 10. Shift+Click select both ellipses using direct selection

tool.

Step 11. Press Alt and click and drag to create copy of both.
Step 12. Press Ctrl+T , right click and select flip horizontal.
Step 13. Now with pen tool draw upper shape as shown. make sure
"subtract from shape area" is still enabled.

Step 14. Finish the path drawing by closing the path.
Step 15. Here completes the batman logo. Well! Almost.
Step 16. I f you didn't get some nodes right, select direct
selection tool and adjust.
Create Eye logo using convert point tool
Step 1. Start by creating a simple ellipse shape using ellipse

tool.

Step 2. Select direct selection tool and click on ellipse shape.

It will select the elliptical path.
Step 3. With this path selected, select convert point tool and
click on the right and left nodes of ellipse. This will convert
the circular path to an angular one.
Step 4. We have achieved a basic eye shape after converting

these nodes to angular nodes.
Step 5. Use ellipse shape tool and enable exclude overlapping

shape areas on top bar.
Step 6. Draw a circle in the eye. This will create circular hole
in the eye shape.

Step 7. Draw another tiny circle in the center.
Step 8. Using pen tool draw an eye-brow.
Step 9. Create a new layer and draw more shapes to add details
to the eye.
Step 10. Use text tool and click on this new path and type "i"
multiple times. This will complete the eyelashes.
Step 11. Apply drop shadow to this layer.

Step 12. To the main eye shape layer apply inner shadow and use
settings as shown.
Step 13. Type icare.com in a new layer.
Step 14. Select background layer. Use gradient tool and select
transparent type gradient.

Step 15. Finish the logo by applying gradient to the background

layer.
Creating Mickey Mouse face
Step 1. Start by drawing a black circle using elliptical shape

tool.
Step 2. Create a small black circle for ear. Before drawing

enable add to path area on top bar.

Step 3. Use direct selection tool ( the filled arrow icon

instead of hollow arrow icon ). Click on small ear circle and
drag to the other side to create a duplicate of the ear.
Step 4. Take skin color as a foreground color and draw an

ellipse.
Step 5. Press Ctrl+T to transform and rotate.
Step 6. Create a duplicate of the skin color ellipse and flip it

horizontally.

Step 7. Using pen tool draw cheeks and chin area. Follw the
images for drawing shape.
Step 8. Create two white ellipses for eyes.
Step 9. Create two small black ellipses for eyelids.
Step 10. Use pen tool to draw a small curve below the eyes.

Step 11. Set brush width to 3 pixels. In path window click

stroke path with brush.
Step 12. Create a black ellipse for nose below this curve.
Step 13. Using pen tool draw mouth shape.
Step 14. Using 3 pixel brush draw two small free hand curves at
the edges of the ellipse. This will create a smiling face.

Step 15. Using pen tool draw a path for tongue inside the mouth
area.
Step 16. Fill it with red color.
Step 17. Select both skin color layers, link together and press
Ctrl+E to merge.
Step 18. Double click this merge layer to open layer sttyle
window and enable stroke. Apply settings as shown.

Step 19. Right click the layer and select copy layer style.
Step 20. Right click the white eye layer and select paste layer
style.
Step 21. Add highlights by creating small white circles in

eyelids and one at the nose tip.

Drawing Power puff Girl
Step 1. Start by drawing an ellipse using elliptical shape tool.
Step 2. Apply stroke using following settings.
Step 3. Create a duplicate of this ellipse. Remove the effect

and fill with black color.
Step 4. Enable subtract from shape area at the top bar.

Step 5. Using pen tool draw as shown in the images below.
Step 6. Using pen tool draw the outer hair as shown.
Step 7. Duplicate and place this shape on the both sides of the
face.
Step 8. Draw a circle for the eye.
Step 9. Enable subtract from shape area at the top bar .Using
pen tool draw as shown in the images below.

Step 10. Fill this shape with white color.
Step 11. Apply stroke using settings below.
Step 12. Duplicate this layer remove the effect. Fill it with
green color. Press Ctrl+T and squeeze from left slightly.
Step 13. Select rounded rectangle tool. Adjust settings as

shown.
Step 14. Draw a rounded rectangle for the pupil of the eye.

Step 15. Draw a white ellipse to complete the eye.
Step 16. Select all eye layers. Duplicate and flip horizontally
and place it for the other eye.
Step 17. Draw lips using pen tool.
Step 18. Draw upper body shape using pen tool as shown.
Step 19. Draw arms using pen tool and apply stroke layer style.
Step 20. Draw legs using pen tool and apply stroke layer style.

Step 21. Add details to the legs.
Step 22. Fill the background with pink color.
Step 23. Using pen tool create a few triangular shapes over the
background.
Step 24. Change layer mode to overlay for these triangular

shapes.

Sun With Sunglasses
Step 1. Create a circular selection using elliptical marquee

tool. >> Fill the selection with yellow to orange gradient in
radial mode.
Step 2. Using pen tool create streak of the sun.
Step 3. Press Ctrl+Enter to get the selection.
Step 4. Fill the selection with the same gradient.

Step 5. Duplicate the layer and press Ctrl+T. Right click the
layer and select rotate 90 cw.
Step 6. Now select flip horizontal.
Step 7. Select both the streak layers >> and press Ctrl+E to
merge. >> Duplicate it. >> Press Ctrl+T to transform >> and move
the pivot point of streak layer in the center of the circle. >>
Rotate it.
Step 8. Press Ctrl+J to copy the layer again >> and then press
Ctrl+Shift+T to rotate the layer again with the previous

settings. >> Repeat the step till you complete the circumference
of the sun.
Step 9. Now we'll create sunglasses for the sun and give him a
cool look. >> Select brush tool and create sunglass frame.
Step 10. Select pen tool and create glass.
Step 11. Fill it with a dark gradient.
Step 12. Dupliacte it and flip horizontal. Place it for the

other glass.

Step 13. Create an ellipse for nose.
Step 14. Apply following layer styles to the nose to give it a

3d look.
Step 15. Create lips using pen tool.

Creating a Valentines E-card
Step 1. Start by creating a new file. Create a heart shape from

custom shape tool.
Step 2. Double click the layer to open layer style window and
enable inner shadow and drop shadow. Apply settings as shown.
Step 13. Press Ctrl+T to rotate.
Step 14. Ctrl select the shape layer to get the selection.

Step 15. From edit menu select define brush preset.
Step 16. Type the brush name heart.
Step 17. Press F5 to open the brush window and select the heart
brush. Enable shape dynamics and scattering. Apply brush
settings as shown.

Step 18. Apply the brush to new layer.
Step 19. From layer palette reduce the opacity to 15%.
Step 20. Duplicate the main heart layer. Scale it down and
rotate it in the other direction.
Step 21. Type "Happy Valentine's Day" with a nice font.

opacity to 15%.
Step 23. Select the top layer. From layer palette select
hue/saturation as a new adjustment layer.

Beetles - Creating patchwork style logo
Step 1. Start by creating a simple beetle shape using pen tool.

Step 2. Once you complete one basic segment of your design press
Ctrl + Enter to create a selection out of your design. Fill it
with red color in a new layer.
Step 3. In this step we'll create a cloth pattern effect on this

shape. Double click this layer to open layer style window.
Enable pattern overlay and use any cloth or denim pattern.
Adjust settings as shown.
Step 4. Also enable color overlay. Use red color and change
blend mode as shown.

Step 5. Changing your blend mode will show the cloth pattern
through red color.
Step 6. Draw more path drawings with pen tool to add more
details to the beetle.
Step 7. Similarly add layer style to these drawings and play

with blend modes to achieve a nice effect.

Step 8. Now we'll add stitches to the edges of beetle's round

body. We'll use text tool to do so.
Step 9. For time being hide the layer containing body of the
beetle. In path window select path of the body.
Step 10. With text tool click on this path and type "I" multiple
times. This will create stitches surrounding body of the beetle.
You can also adjust kerning settings in the text window to get a
fine distance between characters.
Step 11. Similarly type multiple "I"s on the next portion of the
body path.

Creating CASPER - The friendly ghost
Step 1. Start by creating a path for casper's face using pen

tool.
Step 2. Create a gradient as shown.
Step 3. Press Ctrl+Enter to create a selection from a path. Fill

the selection with the gradient in radial mode.

Step 4. Using pen tool create body path.
Step 5. Apply the same gradient.
Step 6. Similarly create hands of the casper.
Step 7. Fill the background with black color.

Step 8. Change the color modes of all the casper layers to

screen.
Step 9. Select eraser tool and erase all the overlapping area.
enable gradient overlay and stroke. Apply settings as shown.

Step 12. To create the eyelids draw a circle place it inside the
white ellipse near the bottom.

Step 14. Draw a tiny black circle and place it at the center of
the eyelid.
Step 15. Merge all the eye layers. Duplicate it. Flip it
horizontally and reduce the width. Place it as a second eye.
Step 16. Using pen tool draw eyebrows with a dark color.
Step 17. Create lips of Casper. Fill it with a lighter shade.

Step 18. Now we'll create cheek on casper's face. Draw a

circular selection and press Ctrl+Alt+D to feather the
selection.
Step 19. Fill the selection with same gradient we use for the
body in radial mode.
Step 20. Using eraser tool erase the bottom portion of the
circle. Reduce opacity of this layer to 20%.

Step 21. Duplicate the cheek. Flip horizontally. Place on the

other side.
Step 22. Similarly create a circular nose of Casper.
Step 23. Now we'll add details to the body by creating a subtle
effect of casper's bottom. At the butt area create a big
circular selection. Feather it and apply the same gradient in
radial mode.
Step 24. Erase the bottom highlight portion using eraser tool
and reduce the opacity.

Step 25. Merge all casper layers you drawn till now. Apply outer
glow using following settings.
Curved Navigational Header
Step 1. Start by opening a new file. Fill the background layer

with the color that you have decided for your webpage.
Step 2. Draw a curved path shape layer using pen tool for your
header.

Step 3. Double click to open layer style window. Apply drop

shadow, inner shadow, bevel & emboss using settings shown below.
Step 4. After applying the layer style effects mentioned above

you'll get this result.
Step 5. Now in a new layer create an oval shape using ellipse

tool. This shape will be placeholder for a site relevant
graphic.

Step 6. Double click the oval shape to open its layer style
window. Apply outer glow and use settings as shown.
Step 7. In a new layer below all layers create another wave like
curve using path tool. Its height should be small as it will be
backdrop for our main buttons.
Step 8. Apply a small drop shadow to this shape layer.
Step 9. Using custom shape tool ( U ), draw a forward arrow

shape in a new layer.

Step 10. Take multiple copies of this shape layer and place at
some distance from each other. We have planned five main buttons
for site header so we took five copies and spread across the
width of the bar.
Step 11. Create a curve path similar to the bottom curve shape.
Press T to select text tool and click on this path. Type names
of the main pages of the site next to these forward arrow
shapes. As we clicked on the path while typing all text is moved
on this curve shape.
Step 12. We typed Home, About Us, Services, Policies, Contact Us

as these are necessary subpages for our courier service site.

Step 13. Place the company logo in a new layer towards top left.
Step 14. Now we'll place a nice relevant graphic image in the
white placeholder we left empty. We opened an image of an
envelope and dragged to our header file.
Step 15. Ctrl+ Click the white oval layer to create selection of
oval.
Step 16. With oval selection still on, make sure you select
envelope layer. From layer menu select layer>>layer mask>>reveal
selection.

Step 17. This will place the envelope image in an oval mask.
Step 18. Apply a white thin stroke to envelope layer to outline

it.
Step 19. A nice navigational header for our courier service

website is ready to go.
Designing Easter card with jumping eggs
Step 1. Start by applying a gradient in linear mode to the

background.

Step 3. Double click the layer to open layer style window. Apply
layer style with the settings shown.
Step 4. Create a new layer. Select brush tool and press F5 to

open brush settings. Apply settings as shown.

Step 6. Change the layer mode to linear light.
Step 7. Create an ellipse using elliptical shape tool. Rasterize

the layer.
Step 8. Ctrl+Click the layer thumbnail to get the selection.

Select brush tool and using a soft feathered settings apply to
the left hand side.
Step 9. From select menu apply modify>>contract.
Step 10. Apply brush with different shade of pink.

Step 12. Create circular frame shape using custom shape tool.
Step 13. Duplicate the layer and scale it down. Place it as

shown in the image.
Step 14. Similarly create more duplicate and scale them as

shown.

Step 15. Merge all the circular frame shapes. Form filter menu
select blur>>motion blur. Apply settings as shown.
Step 16. Press Ctrl+U to open hue/saturation window. Apply

settings as shown.
Step 17. Create an ellipse for the egg shadow. Reduce the
opacity of the ellipse to 50%.
Step 18. Similarly create more eggs with different colors and
sizes.
Step 19. Type "Happy Easter" with a nice font and apply some
outer glow.

Creating PRINGLES logo

Step 2. Create another ellipse with white color, using

elliptical shape tool over the first ellipse.
Step 3. Select add point tool and add 2 points on the elliptical
shapes shown in the image below.
Step 4. Select convert point tool and click on the top point.
Now select the point we add in previous steps and drag
downwards. Adjust the handles.

Step 5. Create 2 circles for the eyes.
Step 6. Using pen tool create one side of the moustache.
Step 7. Select brown color and add details to moustache.
Step 8. Similarly add details to the hair using pen tool with
same brown color.
Step 9. Select the black moustache layer along with all brown
layer. Duplicate and flip horizontal.
Step 10. Using pen tool create eye brows.

Step 11. Create a new layer. Select a 3 pixel hard brush. In

path window click on stroke path with brush button.
Step 12. Create a black rectangle below the mascot. Type

"PRINGLES" with yellow color.
Step 13. Select and merge the rectangle and the text layer.
Create a rectangular selection using rectangular marquee tool to
cover only "GLES" from "PRINGLES". Press Ctrl+Shift+J to cut and
paste the selection in a new layer.
Step 14. Select the layer containing first half of the rectangle
with text. Press Ctrl+T. Right click the layer and select
perspective. Get the shape shown below by dragging the handles.

Step 15. Similarly select the layer with other half of the logo
and warp as done in previous step.
Step 16. Select all layers. Press Ctrl+T and rotate in anti-
clockwise direction.
Creating a cartoon alien
Step 1. Start by drawing an ellipse using elliptical shape tool.
enable stroke. Apply settings as shown.

Step 3. Create an ellipse inside the first ellipse using

elliptical shape tool. Use a lighter shade.
Step 4. Create another small ellipse to create eyes.
Step 5. From edit menu select transform path>>distort.
Step 6. Adjust the nodes of the path.
Step 7. Select the eye layer and press Ctrl+T to transform.

Rotate it.
Step 8. Duplicate the eye layer and press Ctrl+T. Right click
the layer and select flip horizontal.

Step 9. Draw two small ellipse with white color to create eye
lids of the alien inside the eye area.
Step 10. Create another big ellipse. Move the layer below the
alien face layer. We'll create body shape much smaller the head
itself.
Step 11. Press Ctrl+T to transform. Right click the layer and
select warp. Adjust the nodes as shown.

Step 12. Apply stroke to the layer with previous settings.
Step 13. Select pen tool and draw leg and foot of the alien.
Step 14. Duplicate the leg layer and flip it horizontally.
Step 15. Using pen tool draw hand and antinna of the alien.

window and enable outer glow and gradient overlay. Apply
settings as shown.
Step 17. Change the background color to blue.
Step 18. Create a noise gradient.

Drawing a glass with drink inside
Step 1. Start by opening a new file. Create a ellipse shape

using elliptical shape tool.

Step 3. Create another ellipse at the bottom. Use a darker shade

of sky blue.
Step 4. Double click the first ellipse layer to open layer style
window and enable stroke. Apply settings as shown.
Step 5. Now apply stroke to the rest of the shapes.

Step 6. Create a shape to hide the bottom joint.
Step 7. Now we'll add some drink to the glass. Create an ellipse
as shown.
Step 8. Now create path as shown using pen tool. Basically

you'll have to offset the glass shape only.

Step 10. Now apply the same effect to the ellipse layer at the
very top of the inner path.
Step 11. To make our glass look more glassy we'll add a
reflection shape to it. Using pen tool create a path as shown.
Use white color as fill.

Applying overlay color mode will add a see through effect which
is perfect for a glass reflection.
Step 13. Apply a cool gradient to the background.
Spider In Spider web
Step 1. Start by drawing a shape of spider using pen tool.

Follow the steps using images below.
Step 2. Create body of the spider.

Step 3. Now we'll create a spider web. Select polygen tool with
the settings shown.
Step 4. Create a polygen surrounding the spider.
Step 5. Duplicate the path and scale it down.
Step 6. Similarly duplicate more polygens with decreasing shape

area.

path window click on apply stroke path with brush.
Step 8. Join the edges of polygons using line tool.
Step 9. Select all the web layers and press Ctrl+E to merge.

Drawing an airplane
Step 1. Start by creating an ellipse using elliptical shape

tool.

Step 3. Create another ellipse over first ellipse.
Step 4. Press Ctrl+T. Right click the layer and select warp.
Select arc upper from the custom warp presets. Apply settings as
shown.

warp. Select rise from the custom warp presets. Apply settings
as shown.
Step 7. Create a shape on the tip using pen tool.

get the shape as shown.
Step 8. Similarly create another line as shown in the image

Step 10. Duplicate the layer several times and place as shown in
the image below.
Step 11. Using pen tool create wing of the airplane.

Step 14. Duplicate, scale down to create small flaps and place
towards the rear of the airplane.

Retro Stars
Step 1. Search your shapes database of Photoshop for this

funny star;
Step 2. Turn it a little bit to the left;

version and a dark version of your color;
Step 4. Make sure the star is white and start using the
Polygonal Lasso-Tool;
>>Click on the point of one of the spikes of the star

Step 5. Do the same with the other spike, but then use the

Step 6. Then again, but the light color;

Step 1. Open up a new document with a logo or a text in it on

Transparent-Black";

Step 8. Here comes the tricky part: >> Copy the layer-style of
the cigarette, >> merge all the cigarette-layers (gradient,
burn-marks and the actual cigarette) together;
>> Now paste the layer-style you copier earlier;

Creating realistic water ripples

Step 5. From filter menu >> select Redfield >> Water Ripples.
Step 6. Play around with settings till you achieve a nice water
ripple effect.
