IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions
should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric
shock, and/or injury to persons, including the following:

1. Read all instructions and information in this instruction book and any
other literature included in this carton referring to this product before
operating or using this appliance.
2. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
3. To protect against fire, electric shock and personal injury do not immerse
cord, plugs or appliance in water or other liquid.
4. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near
children.
5. Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool
before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning the appliance.
6. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the
appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any way. Return the
appliance to the nearest authorized service centre for examination,
repair or adjustment.
7. The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance
manufacturer may result in fire, electric shock or personal injury.
8. Do not use outdoors.
9. Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
10. Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
11. Always turn appliance “OFF”, then plug cord into the wall outlet. To
disconnect, turn switch to “OFF”, then remove plug from wall outlet.
12. Do not use appliance for other than intended household use.
13. Use extreme caution when using hot steam.

SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS


CAUTION
This appliance is for household use only. Any servicing, other than cleaning
and user maintenance, should be performed by an authorized service
centre. Do not immerse machine in water. To reduce the risk of fire or
electric shock, do not disassemble the machine. There are no parts inside
the machine serviceable by the user. Repair should be done by authorized
service personnel only.

1. Check voltage to be sure that the voltage indicated on the nameplate


corresponds with your voltage.
2. Never use warm or hot water to fill the water tank. Use cold water only.
3. Keep your hands and the cord away from hot parts of the appliance
during operation.
4. Never clean with scrubbing powders or harsh cleaners. Simply use a
soft cloth dampened with water.
5. For optimal taste of your coffee, use purified or bottled water. Periodic
descaling is still recommended every 3-6 weeks.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE POWER


SUPPLY CORD
A. A short power-supply cord is provided to reduce risks of tangling or
tripping over a longer cord.
B. Longer extension cords are available and may be used if care is exercised
in their use.
C. If a long extension cord is used:
1. The marked electrical rating of the extension cord should be at least
as great as the electrical rating of the appliance.
2. If the appliance is of the grounded type, the extension cord should
be a grounding type
3. The cord should not hang from the table to avoid the risk of tangling
or tripping.

This coffee machine is suitable for preparing espresso coffee using
coffee beans, and it is equipped with a device to dispense steam
and hot water.
The machine is designed for domestic use only and is not suitable
for heavy or professional use.

No liability is assumed for any damage caused by:

●Repairs not carried out by authorized customer service centers;
●Tampering with the power cable;
●Tampering with any part of the machine;
●Immersing the machine into water;

CONTROL PANEL

1 Power light
- Permanently on: signals when the machine is on.
- Flash: signals when the machine is off.
2 Power button
- Allows you to turn the machine on and off.

3 1 cup light
- Permanently on: signals when the machine is ready for use.
- Flash: signals when the machine is warming up.
4 1 cup button
- Press once to dispense 1 cup of coffee. Press again to cancel
the coffee.
5 2 cup light
- Permanently on: signals when the machine is ready for use.
- Flash: signals when the machine is warming up.
6 2 cup button
- Press once to dispense 2 cup of coffee. Press again to cancel
the coffee.
7 Rotary dial
- Rotate clockwise for small volume of coffee.
Turn counter clockwise for larger volume of coffee.

8 Steam light
- Permanently on: signals when the machine is ready for steam.
- Flash: signals when the machine is warming up for steam.

- Allows you to turn the steam function on and off.

10 Rinse light
- Permanently on: signals when the machine is rinsing.
- Flash: signals when the machine is descaling.
11 Rinse button
- Press once: allows you to turn the rinse function on and off.
- Press and hold: allows you activate the descaling function.
12 Out of coffee warning light
- The light stays permanently on when the machine is out of
coffee beans.
Add beans and select your choice of coffee size again and
the warning light will go off.
13 Lack of water warning light
- Permanently on: signals when the machine needs to be primed.
- Flash: signals when the water container is out of water or the
water container is not in place.

14 Parts not in place warning light


- Permanently on: signals when the brew group is not in place.
- Flash: signals when the coffee grounds drawer or the drip tray
is not in place.
15 Grounds drawer full warning light
- The light stays permanently on when the grounds drawer is full.

16 High temperature warning light


- The light stays permanently on when the temperature is too
high, which is not suitable for brewing coffee. To disable the
light, simply prime the machine until the light goes off.
17 Warning indication
- The 5 warning lights with or without the 2 cup light are on at
the same time signals when there is a malfunctioning.
Restart the machine. If the lights are still on, please contact
your closest authorized customer service center.

* Notice to empty the waste water drawer every once a while to


keep clean.

SAFETY RULES
IN CASE OF EMERGENCY
Immediately unplug the power cable.

USE THE APPLIANCE ONLY


- Indoors.
- To prepare coffee, dispense hot water, froth milk or heat beverages using
steam.
- For domestic use only.
- By adults in non altered psycho-physical conditions.

NEVER USE THE APPLIANCE


- For purposes other than those indicated above, in order to avoid danger.
Do not introduce any substances other than those indicated in the instruction
manual.
- During the normal filling of any reservoirs, all nearby reservoirs must be
closed.
- Fill the water container only with fresh drinking water: Hot water and/or
any other liquid may damage the machine.
- Do not use carbonated water.
- Do not put fingers or any material other than coffee beans in the coffee
grinder. Before manipulating the coffee grinder, turn off the machine’s
main switch and unplug the cable.

POWER CONNECTION
- Only connect the coffee machine to a suitable power socket. The power
and voltage ratings must correspond to the indication on the machine’s
label.

INSTALLATION
- Choose a level surface. Do not place on heated surfaces!
- Allow a distance of 20 cm / 8" between walls and cooking hotplates.
- Do not keep the machine at temperatures below 0°C / 32°F – danger of
freezing damage.
- There must be easy access to the socket at all times.
- The power cable must not be damaged, tied up with clamps, placed on
very hot surfaces, etc.
- The power cable must not hang. (Danger caused by tripping or dropping
the appliance).
- Do not use the power cable to carry or pull the coffee machine.

DANGER
- The appliance must not be used by children and persons who have not
been informed on its operation.
- The appliance is dangerous to children. If left unattended, please disable
it.
- Do not leave the coffee machine packaging within the reach of children.
- Never direct the jet of hot water and/or steam towards yourself or others.
Prevent from scalding.
- Do not insert objects through the appliance’s openings (Danger cause
by electrical shock!).
- Do not touch the plug with wet hands and feet. Do not remove the plug
by pulling the cable.
- Warning, danger of burns caused by hot water, steam and hot water/steam
spout.

FAILURES
- Do not use the appliance in case of sure or suspected faults such as after
falls.
- Any repairs must be performed by an authorized customer service center.
- Do not use the appliance with a defective power cable. If damaged, the
power cable must be replaced by the manufacturer or authorized service
center. (Danger caused by electrical shock!).
- Turn off the appliance before opening the service door.

CLEANING / DESCALING
- Before cleaning, unplug the machine and let the appliance cool.
- Keep the appliance from coming into contact with splashes of water or
immersing in water.
- Do not wash the components in dish washers.
- Do not clean the machine with detergents other than those indicated in
the instruction manual.
- Do not dry the machine’s parts in conventional or microwave ovens.

SPARE PARTS
For safety reasons, use only original spare parts and original accessories.

DISPOSAL
- The packing materials can be recycled.
- Appliance: unplug the appliance and cut the power cord.
- Deliver the appliance and power cord to a service center or public waste
disposal facility.

This product may not be treated as household waste. Instead it shall be


handed over to the applicable collection point for the recycling of electrical
and electronic equipment.

By ensuring this product is disposed of correctly, you will help prevent


potential negative consequences for the environment and human health,
which could otherwise be caused by inappropriate waste handling of this
product. For more detailed information about recycling of this product,
please contact your local city office, your household waste disposal service
or the retailer where you purchased the product.

INSTALLATION
STARTING THE MACHINE
Make sure the power button is not pressed and the machine is turned off.
Before turning on the machine.
1. Lift the coffee bean container lid and take out the desiccators.
2. Fill the container with coffee beans. Close the lid correctly on the
container.
3. Remove the water container and fill it with fresh drinking water up to
the MAX level. Make sure to place the container correctly on top of
the machine.
4. Make sure coffee grounds drawer, drip tray, brew group are placed in
the machine correctly.
5. Insert the plug into a socket with suitable electrical rating.
To turning on the machine.
1. Press the power button to turn on the machine. The machine performs
a self-test and starts warming up.
2. The 1 cup and 2 cup lights flash signal the machine is warming up. The
lights turn to permanently on signal the machine is ready for brewing
coffee or dispensing hot water. All functions are enabled until the 2
lights turn to permanently on.

PRIMING THE MACHINE

Before starting up for the first time, or if the machine


has been inoperative for a lengthy period, or lack of
water warning light or high temperature warning light
is on, the machine must be primed.

1. Place a container beneath the steam spout.


2. Release the water by turning the steam & hot water knob to the open
position. Wait until a steady flow of water comes out of the spout.
3. Turn the knob to the close position.
4. To prime the machine during the two warning lights, release the water
long enough unit the warning lights turn off.

ADJUSTMENTS
COFFEE GRINDER ADJUSTMENT

Warning! The grinder adjustment knob inside the coffee


bean container must be turned only while the coffee
grinder is operating.
Do not introduce ground or freeze-dried coffee in the
coffee bean container.

Do not introduce any material other than coffee beans.


Inside the coffee grinder there are moving parts that
may be dangerous; do not place your fingers or other
objects inside the grinder. Before performing any kind
of operation inside the coffee container, switch off the
machine and unplug it.

The machine enables a slight coarseness adjustment of the coffee grinder.


Coffee maybe ground according to your own tastes.

Turn the knob one setting at a time and brew 2-3 cups of coffee; the change
in the grind will be noticeable after a couple of cycles.

The reference arrow located inside the container points to the grind setting.

COFFEE DOSAGE ADJUSTMENT


The machine enables coffee dosage quantity adjustment. Dosage maybe
adjusted according to your own tastes. Adjust the dosage according to the
direction of plus(+) and minus(-) on the adjustment knob. The reference
arrow located inside the container points to the dosage setting.

COFFEE BREWING
The coffee brewing cycle can be interrupted at any moment by pushing
the power button. To brew 2 cups, the machine dispenses half of the
entered quantity and briefly interrupts dispensing in order to prepare the
second serving of coffee. Coffee dispensing is then restarted and completed.

1. Adjust the height adjustable coffee dispenser according to the height


of the cup(s).
2. Place one cup if you want one coffee only.
3. Place two cups if you want two coffees.
4. Select your own quantity of coffee by rotating the dial on the control
panel. The arrow on top of the dial is the reference, smaller dot for
smaller volume, and larger dot for larger volume of brew coffee.
Pressing the small, medium or large cup button. Press 1 cup button for
1 coffee, 2 cup button for 2 coffees.
5. The machine automatically starts brewing coffee. When the machine
has finished brewing, remove the cup(s).

HOT WATER DISPENSING

Dispensing may be preceded by short sprays of steam


or hot water, and scalding is possible. The steam & hot
water spout may reach high temperatures: do not touch
it with bare hands.

1. Place a container beneath the steam & hot water spout.


2. Turn the steam & hot water knob until the open position.
3. Wait for the container to be filled with the desired quantity of hot
water.
4. Turn the knob until it is in the closed position.
5. Remove the container.

CAPPUCCINO

Dispensing may be preceded by short sprays of steam


or hot water, and scalding is possible. The steam & hot
water spout may reach high temperatures: do not touch
it with bare hands.

1. Press the steam button for warming up.


2. Fill 1/3 of the cup with cold fresh milk.
3. Immerse the steam spout in the milk.
4. Turn the steam & hot water knob until the open position.
5. Froth the milk by gently rotating the container.
6. After obtaining good foam of frothed milk, turn the knob until it is in
the closed position.
7. Press the steam button to turn off the steam function ; the high
temperature warning light will turn on.
8. Prime the machine until the warning light turn off.
9. Brew coffee(s) into the cup for a creamy cappuccino.

* When the spout has cooled down, disassemble it and wash it


carefully.

RINSING
The machine enables a rinsing function for customer to clean the internal
pipes before or after brewing coffee. Use this function more often to
obtain clean and delicious tastes of coffee.

1. Place a container beneath the coffee dispenser.


2. Press once of the rinse button.
3. The machine will dispense an amount of rinse water containing dirt
from the internal pipes.

DESCALING

When performing a descaling cycle, it is necessary to be


present during the entire process (about 10 minutes).

Caution! Do not use vinegar as a descaler.

The descaling must be performed routinely once every 3 weeks, or


whenever the volume of the dispensed coffee was decreased. Use a
non-toxic, non-harmful descaling solution. Citric acid solution of food grade
is recommended.

Note: before starting a descaling cycle make sure a container of adequate


size is available.

1. Empty the water tank and refill it with dissolved descaling solution of
500C.C. in the tank.
2. Place a large container beneath the coffee dispenser.
3. Press and hold the rinse button until the rinse light starts to flash.
4. The machine will dispense a small amount of the solution and stop.
5. After 10 minutes, the machine will dispense the rest of the solution
until no solution left in the water tank. The lack of water warning light
will be on.
6. Rinse and fill the water tank with fresh drinking water.
7. Prime the machine.
8. Perform rinsing function stated in the user’s manual few times to remove
the taste of the descaling solution.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
HOW TO CLEAN THE MACHINE

The machine must be cleaned everyday.

Do not immerse the machine in water or place any of


its parts in a dishwasher. Do not use alcohol, solvents,
benzene or abrasive objects to clean the machine.

The water left in the tank for several days must be


disposed of. Do not dry the machine or its components
using a microwave or conventional oven.

1. Turn off the machine and unplug it.


2. Remove the water tank and wash it.
3. Remove the drip tray and wash it under running water.
4. Remove the coffee grounds drawer.
5. Empty the coffee grounds and the residual liquids separately. Wash
the drawer.
6. Remove and wash the steam spout. Wash all external components.
7. Before filling the coffee bean, clean the coffee bean container using
a soft wet cloth.

Note: If the grounds drawer is emptied with the machine turned off, or
when the warning light to empty the drawer is not on, the count of the
coffee portions contained in the grounds drawer is not restarted. For this
reason, the warning light to empty drawer may illuminate even when it
is not full.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
CLEANING THE BREW GROUP
The brew group must be cleaned at least once everyday. Before removing
the brew group, remove the coffee grounds drawer. Once you have washed
and inserted the brew group, insert the grounds drawer and close the
service door.

1. Hold the handle of the brew group, press the button on top of it and
remove the brew group.
2. Wash the brew group with running water. Wash the filters carefully.
3. Make sure the brew group is in rest position.
4. Make sure the components are in the correct position. The hook at
the back of the brew group must be in the correct position; to check
its position, firmly press the button on top of the handle.
5. The lever on the rear part of the group must be in contact with the
brew group base.
6. Insert the clean brew unit. DO NOT PRESS THE LATCH ON TOP OF THE
HANDLE. When putting the unit back in, there is a click sound to
ensure it is secured in position.
7. Insert the grounds drawer and close the front door.
8. Turn on the machine and check if the part not in place warning light is
on or not.
