Topic: Reaction Between Metal and Acid

Magnesium is the most reactive metal with acids based on the results. Copper is the least reactive metal. Hydrogen gas is produced when metals react with acids. When magnesium reacts with diluted hydrochloric acid, the end products are magnesium chloride and hydrogen gas. The descending order of reactivity of metals with acids is magnesium, aluminium, zinc, copper. Aluminium reacts with hydrochloric acid to produce aluminium chloride, hydrogen gas and heat. Zinc reacts with hydrochloric acid to produce zinc chloride and hydrogen gas. The hypothesis is accepted. An acid is defined as a substance that produces hydrogen ions when dissolved in water.
