FB60-Invoice
Functionality
Use this transaction to post an invoice. These are direct invoices which are not coming from a purchase
order. If the invoice is being created in reference to a purchase order, tcode, MIRO would be used.
SAP MENU → Accounting → Financial Accounting → Accounts receivable → Document entry → FB60-
Invoice
Vendor number – Enter the vendor from who the purchase was made.
Invoice Date- The invoice date is the date the purchase was made. E.g., if a purchase was made
on 1/1/2019, but the vendor did not send the invoice on 1/10/2019, the invoice date will be
1/1/2019.
Posting date- This is the date when the posting hit the financial books. This was the date when
we recorded the transaction in SAP. It is possible to purchase something on 1/1/2019, but only
record the invoice in SAP on 2/15/2019. In this case, the posting date will be 2/15/2019.
Document type – This is usually KR for vendor invoices.
Amount- Enter the amount of the purchase
Reference number-This is usually the vendor invoice number. When the vendor calls us to
inquire about a payment, this is the number he references.
Text- Can be used to identify what the purchase was. E.g., markers for all conference rooms.
Calculate Tax (Optional Field) - If you select this field, the system calculates the taxes
automatically during simulation or posting.
Line Items
G/L Account- G/L account is the bucket used to classify these costs. E.g., if we purchased office
supplies, then we would use the office supplies G/L account here.
Debit or credit- For an invoice, the G/L side will be debit as the vendor is credited.
Amount- The amount for this G/L. The amount on the vendor and the G/L should balance to 0.
Cost Center- Used for internal reporting.
Baseline Date - Date to which the periods for the cash discount deadline and the due date for
net payment refer. This is the case for line items in open item accounts.
Due on - The due date for net payment is calculated from the baseline date for payment and the
maximum permissible target dates in the terms of payment.
Cash Discount (Optional Field) - Cash discount amount in document currency.
Discount Base (Optional Field) - During document entry, the amount qualifying for cash discount
can be determined manually or automatically.
Payment Method - Payment method with which this item is to be paid.
Invoice reference (Optional Field) - For line items which are related to another line item, this
field contains the number of the partner document.
Part. Bank (Optional Field) - Key you enter in the line item to specify which business partner's
bank the system should use.
Payment Terms - Key for defining payment terms composed of cash discount percentages and
payment periods.
Payment Block - Specifies why a document is blocked for payment.
House Bank – Bank data is determined using this key.
