Turn On BitLocker On Windows 10 Devices

Windows BitLocker encrypts data on Windows devices. To turn on Bitlocker, go to Manage Bitlocker and click "Turn on Bitlocker". You will then select a PIN, choose whether to encrypt the entire drive or used space, select a new encryption mode, and run a system check before restarting. For domain devices, the PIN is saved to the cloud account. For BYOD devices, the recovery key is saved externally. On phones, go to Settings > System > Device Encryption and turn it on, adding a PIN if needed.

How to turn on Bitlocker on Windows 10 devices

Windows BitLocker Drive Encryption is software that lets you encrypt all data stored on the
Windows operating system volume. When you turn on Bitlocker, the device protects data, which
is stored on the drive, from unauthorized access when the system is turned off or goes into
hibernation. BitLocker uses the TPM to help protect the Windows operating system and user
data and helps to ensure that a computer is not tampered with, even if it is left unattended, lost,
or stolen.

Using the instructions that match the type of device you’re using, turn on BitLocker on domain-
joined PC devices, BYOD PC devices, and managed and unmanaged mobile devices:
