    Before installation
    Radmin 3 consists of two modules:

    Radmin Server 3 Radmin Viewer 3

    Both computers need to be connected by TCP/IP on a local network, modem-to-modem, or over the Internet.

    Installing Radmin Server 3

    Step Download Radmin Server 3.4. Transfer the file: rserv34.exe onto the remote computer (the

    1: and run (execute) rserv34.exe on the remote computer. Follow the on-screen instructions.
    All the necessary files will be copied to the system default directory
    (C:\WINDOWS\system32\rserver30\). Any previous versions of Radmin Server 3 installed
    on your computer will be automatically replaced with the new version (without affecting
    your settings).
    Step Configure Radmin Server on the remote computer. To do this:

    (a) Right Click on the Radmin Server tray icon and choose "Settings For Radmin Server".

    (b) Select the "Permissions" button.

    (c) Select the security mode. Radmin security mode is more useful when connecting
    through the Internet and has a more flexible configuration of access rights. Windows NT
    security mode is mainly used on internal corporate networks.
    (d) You must add a user to the security system. At least one user is required to access
    Radmin Server.

    (e) Add a new user. Use Latin characters to enter the user name and password. The
    minimum password length is 6 characters.
    (f) Now you can configure the access rights for the user. You need to check at least one
    option to allow access to Radmin Server.

    (g) To provide an additional security level you can change Radmin Server's general
    settings. If you use Radmin only for technical support (when a technical specialist connects
    to your computer and resolves your computer problems remotely), you can customize the
    confirmation of incoming connections (connections can be allowed or disallowed manually
    or by timer). You can also change the default port, which is used when your technician or
    administrator connects to Radmin Server. If you change the default port, write it down or
    tell the administrator. That port number will be needed to configure Radmin Viewer.
    Step Move the mouse cursor over the icon of Radmin Server to see the IP address of your
    computer. Write the numbers down; you'll need them later.

    Also you can see your public IP address here. If you don't have public IP address, contact
    your network administrator to configure the router.

    Step Now you can connect to the Radmin Server by using our free software: Radmin Viewer.
    Follow the instructions for its installation and configuration below.

    When the 30-day trial period has expired, Radmin Server requires a license in order to continue
    operating. When you purchase a program license, Famatech will deliver a license code that will unlock
    Radmin Server for continued use. Please see Products ordering page for further details.

    Installing Radmin Viewer 3

    Step Download Radmin Server 3.4. Execute rview34.exe on the remote computer (the local
    computer is the computer from which you connect to the remote computer). Follow
    1: the on-screen instructions. All the necessary files will be copied to the system default
    directory (C:\Program Files\Radmin Viewer 3\). Any previous versions of Radmin Viewer
    3 that may be installed on your computer will be automatically replaced with the new
    version (without changing your settings).

    Step Run Radmin Viewer and create a new connection.

    Enter the IP address of the computer on which you installed Radmin Server (see Step 3
    above). Enter a name for the connection (that will make sense to you some months from
    now).

    You can change any of the default connection settings to save network traffic or to increase
    connection speeds if using a slow internet connection.

    Overview
     

    Radmin Server can be configured,


    deployed and activated remotely on any
    number of computers via the Radmin
    Deployment Package.

     Radmin Activation Server

    Enables you to automatically


    activate Radmin Server on many
    computers with limited Internet
    access. You need to install
    Radmin Activation Server on a
    computer that has Internet access
    (either directly or via an HTTP
    proxy) and is accessible to all
    computers on which you want to
    activate Radmin Server. Refer to
    the Radmin Activation Server
    Help file or Using Radmin
    Activation Server Guide for
    details.

     Radmin Deployment Tool

    Enables you to apply settings to the Radmin Server MSI package and remotely
    deploy it on any number of computers. Radmin Deployment Tool has two modules:

    o Radmin Deployment Tool


    A tool for system administrators to install, uninstall and upgrade Radmin
    Server remotely on any number of computers. Refer to the Radmin
    Deployment Tool Help file or Radmin Deployment Tool Step-by-Step
    Guide for details.
    o Radmin MSI Configurator
    A companion tool that allows administrators to apply settings to the Radmin
    Server MSI package, so after an installation, Radmin Server will have the
    specified settings and will use Radmin Activation Server for activation.
    Refer to the Radmin MSI Configurator Help file for details.
    Step Check the availability of the remote computer by scanning with the built-in scanner. After
    the scan (if the icon for the connection is checkmarked) Radmin Server on the remote
    3: computer is installed and ready for a connection.
    Enter your user name and password, which were defined above in Step 2 (e) in your
    Radmin Server on the remote computer.

    Now you can enjoy a fast and secure remote control of your distant computer!
