It is understood that those wishing to undergo First Aid Training via the Health and Safety Department:

 Are University employees and aware that although there is no charge for the course there will be a £50.00 charge for non-attendance/late
cancellation (At least 10 days notice must be given for cancellation)
 Must be able to cope with stressful and physically demanding procedures and be willing to undergo the full three-day course (if applicable),
which includes an exam on the last afternoon.
 Once trained, be prepared to act as First Aider for their own department and sometimes departments in the vicinity.

Please note that priority is given to areas/schools/units which do not have trained First Aiders, or which are considered "high
risk" school/units and training is only provided if First Aiders are deemed required in the area where you work.

Managers please provide a statement which highlights the requirement in your area for this staff member to be trained.
