ART APPRECIATION
FirstSemester, A.Y. 2019-2020

Course Description: This course provides an introduction in the understanding of the Humanities and
the Arts focusing on the study of the Art Appreciation as processes of creative imagination of the human
person in dynamic interaction with society.

Course Objectives: At the end of the term, the students are expected to:

1. Develop a critical perception as a “humanistic person” with a heightened sensibility and


sensitivity to oneself and to others.
2. Familiarize oneself with the arts and art objects through encouraging personal experiences
that stimulate one’s participation in the whole artistic process in a personal level; and
3. Develop a matured awareness of the interrelationship among the arts within the socio-
historical context realizing the importance of one’s role in the society and the society’s role to
the individual.

Class Requirements:

1. PERFORMANCE TASK =50%


2. WRITTEN TASK= 25%
3. MAJOR EXAMS= 25%
