A. For B.A.

(Prog) Candidates
Every Candidate for B.A. Examination shall be required to offer English and one of the
Modern Indian Languages, namely Hindi and a group of the two elective subjects available
at the Teaching Centre.
I. Candidates who have not offered any Modern Indian Language at the Senior Secondary
Certificate Examination shall be permitted to offer in lieu of Modern Indian Language a
subject from the B.A. Course out of the following subjects, which she has not otherwise
offered:
1. Economics
2. History
3. Political Science
The candidates offering History as their subject are required to state option and for the paper
opted:
A. Hindi in Senior Secondary Certificate Examination
B. Elementary Hindi included as part of the Examination for the Intermediate
Examination conducted by the Board of High School and, Intermediate Examination,
U.P.
C. Hindi included in the S.S.L.C. Examination of the Government of Kerala
D. Elementary Hindi included as part of the Intermediate Examination
conducted by the Central Board of Education, Ajmer
II. Candidates who have passed English (Core or Elective) in class XII shall
offer English Course A for B.A. Examination.
III. Candidates who have passed English in Class X will offer only English B.
English “A” can also be taken on request.
IV. Candidate who are not covered under II &III above, will offer English course
“C” only.
Subjects to be offered for B.A. Programme
Every candidate is required to offer Two Compulsory Language Courses in 1st
year out of the following courses:
ENGLISH / HINDI
Stream A : For those students who have passed language at the Class XII
level.
Stream B : For those students who have passed language at the Class X level.
Stream C : For those students who have not studied language beyond Class
VIII.
