The 7 Chakras

What are Chakras?

The word Chakras comes from the Sanscrit word meaning "wheels".
For thousands of years Eastern philosophies have believed that each of us has an energy body in addition to and
interacting with our physical bodies.
The energy body is where energy is released from and absorbed into the body.
There is a life force energy that runs through the energy body. This energy is called "prana" in the East Indian culture and
"chi" in Chinese medicine.
The energy body has channels that allow prana to flow freely throughout the body.
A free flow of prana or chi energy is essential for both our physical and emotional health.
There are many of these channels or energy centers, but the most important of them lie in a line that runs from the top of
our head, down the spine to the groin area.
Within that line (called the sushumna nadi) are 7 wheels of energy that are known as the 7 chakras. They are called
wheels because if you could see the chakra, you would see that the energy at those points really does spin, much like a
CD spins in a CD player.
This spinning of energy isn't restricted to our chakra wheels. It is found in all areas of nature. Whenever two or more
streams of energy converge, a vortex or spiral shaped funnel is created. We can see it in things like cloud formations,
tornados or spiralling eddies in flowing water.
Similarly these chakra centers in our body are points where different streams of prana energy meet and form a spiralling
energy vortex.
Each of these 7 energy bodies is said to spin at a unique frequency. Each has its own related color, sacred sound or mantra
and is associated with particular parts of the body.
There are actually many more points of energy flow within our bodies, but the 7 points along the spine are considered the
major chakra energy centers.
The chakra chart above illustrates these energy centers and where they are located in our bodies.
Why Are The 7 Chakras Important?

Each chakra has organs, emotions and senses that it governs.

When mind body spirit are in balance and we are healthy, the prana, or life energy, flows freely through our energy body
and the 7 chakra wheels.

However, when be are ill, angry, stressed, depressed or simply feeling "off", the prana flowing through the energy centers
can become blocked. A chakra may have too much energy, or too little.

This imbalance of energy can lead to more illness, or greater emotional imbalance. In general, our ability to experience
perfect health in the related organs or emotions is impaired.

There are ways to determine which chakra(s) may be out of balance and to bring them back into realignment and we will
look at those as we go.

We will also examine each chakra in depth, including their specifically related chakra colors, the ways to balance each
energy body, chakra meditation and many other points of interest.

The Seven Chakras

The 7 primary or major chakras are:

• The First or Root Chakra - is located at the base of the spine

• Sacral Chakra - located two inches below the navel
• Solar Plexus Chakra - located two inches above the navel, around the stomach
• Heart Chakra - situated in the center of the chest, near the heart
• Throat Chakra - located in the lower neck in the center of the collarbone
• Third Eye Chakra - or brow chakra is in the center of the forehead
• Crown Chakra - situated at the top of the head
Click on the links above to read more about each.

1
The First Chakra - The Root Chakra

The first chakra is often called the root chakra.

One of the reasons it is called the root or base chakra is that it is located in the root or base of the body, at the bottom end
of the spine, in the groin, between the sex organs and the anus (perineum).

In Sanskrit the name for the base chakra is the Muladhara chakra. The word muladhara means foundation or support at
the root.

Each chakra is represented by a color and a symbol.

The color that represents the root or muladhara chakra is a rich ruby red. Ruby red symbolizes vitality and life force. It
can also symbolize the emotion of anger.

The symbol for the first chakra is a lotus flower with four petals. The number four represents honesty and a strong
foundation. You can see it represented in the image above.

The element that represents this chakra is "earth" and the verb associated with it is "to be".

You can see that every reference to this chakra indicates your foundation or your base, upon which all else is built. It is
about the primal life force in each of us.

Each chakra also governs a specific part of the physical body and is related to the manifestation of certain emotions that
stem from a balance or imbalance in that part of the body.

When that particular chakra is out of balance, you may experience health and emotional problems that relate to that area
of the body.

Working in reverse then, you can often tell which chakra is out of balance by noticing what is going on with your body
and your emotions. (Remember the mind body spirit connection. It is readily evident in the workings of the chakras.)

The root chakra governs the adrenal glands, the lower digestive system, the kidneys, the elimination functions of the
body and our lower body (legs, knees, and feet). If it is in balance you have an abundance of energy and vitality and you
digest your food well.

If the root or muladhara chakra is out of balance you can experience health issues like tiredness, constipation and
elimination issues, lower back pain, poor sleep patterns, eating disorders and obesity.

On the emotional level the 1st chakra is all about the primal instinct of physical survival. When it is in balance you feel
secure, grounded and stable. You have a feeling of independence.

If this energy center is out of balance, with either with too much energy or too little, you can find yourself feeling
insecure, depressed, angry or fearful. It can also manifest in feelings of being ungrounded or absent minded, a head in the
clouds type of thing, or a fight or flight attitude.

The gemstones that are said to help balance the red base chakra include the ruby, coral, garnet and bloodstone. I have
heard it suggested that you should wear a small piece of any of the helpful gemstones high and hidden on your body (for
example tucked into a bra or upper pocket) to help balance that chakra. Take care though - gemstones and crystals can be
quite powerful. I would suggest being careful and mindful with their use.

2
There are also essential oils that help balance each chakra. For this one, the helpful oils would include oil of clove, cypress,
cedar, marjoram and myrrh.

The root chakra is all about feeling safe and secure in this physical world. It is about being nourished and having our
basic needs met.

If you are not feeling that way or have issues in these areas, you may want to pay attention to the root chakra and learn
ways to regain its balance.

The Second Chakra: The Sacral Chakra

The second chakra is the sacral chakra.

Its Sanskrit name is Swadhisthana (which can be quite a mouthful for us westerners). The word means "vital force".

This 2nd chakra is located in our lower abdomen, between the waist and the pubic bone, approximately two inches below
the navel.

As we have mentioned before, each chakra is represented by a color and a symbol.

The symbol for the sacral chakra is a lotus flower with six petals. You can see that represented in the 6 orange petals in the
image above. The number 6 represents responsibility and the nurturing of family and of the community.

Chakra colors are important indicators of the emotions and parts of the body represented by each energy body. The
orange color of the second chakra represents our emotions.

The element that governs this energy center is water, which is also often associated with emotions. The verb that is
associated with this sacral chakra is "to feel", so you can see that the 2nd chakra is all about emotions.

The glands that are connected with this chakra are the gonads, the testes and ovaries. The chakra itself is located near the
genitals.

3
Not surprisingly then, the areas of our physical body that are governed by the sacral or sacrum chakra include the
genitals and reproductive organs. The sacral vertebrae in the spine, the stomach, liver, gallbladder, pancreas, kidneys,
spleen and upper intestines are all also impacted by the balance of energy in the second chakra.

The emotional areas of our lives embodied by the sacral chakra include our sensuality and sexual energy, intimacy, self-
acceptance, personal relationships and our emotionality.

Chakra balancing is an important part of both our physical and emotional health.

If the second chakra is in balance, that is, not too much energy in that area of the energy body and not too little, you
should feel an emotional connection to others and a sense of creativity in your life. A person whose second chakra is in
balance takes pleasure in life.

Feeling compassionate, friendly, satisfied, sexual, intuitive and overall vital are also associated with a balanced orange
chakra. You feel comfortable relating to others in an open manner and feel a sense of belonging in your world.

You can often tell which of the 7 chakras may be out of balance by paying attention to how you feel, both physically and
emotionally.

If you experience any of the following physical problems or emotional issues in your life, your sacral chakra may need a
bit of fine tuning:

Physical problem may include a decrease in sexual desire, menstrual problems and/or hormonal imbalances, lower back
pain, sciatica, excessive tiredness, pain in the pelvic area, urinary problems, issues around poor digestion and decreased
resistance to infections.

On an emotional level, imbalances in the second chakra can manifest as irritability, a need for power and control, guilt,
blame, shyness, or not taking responsibility for our own emotions.

Chakra 2 is the seat of creativity, so not being able to express your creative side is another indication of an imbalance in
this energy center.

Gemstones that may help to balance the energies of this second chakra include carnelian, aventurine and citrine. A small
piece of any of these gem stones worn close to the body may help in chakra balancing for the 2nd chakra.

Essential oils that may aid in bringing this energy center into balance include sandalwood and ylang ylang.

You can see that the sacral chakra is focused on our emotional nature and creativity. The goal or life lesson for the sacral
chakra is to feel a bond with others (family, friends and community) that allows us to express who we are openly and
freely without losing our own identity and to feel free to express our creative energy.

The Third Chakra: The Solar Plexus Chakra

The third chakra is referred to as the solar plexus chakra, because it is located in the solar plexus area of our body.

It is specifically located between the bottom of the diaphragm (rib cage) and the navel and is connected to the lumbar
vertebrae. Many people simply say the location is the navel.

The Sanskrit name for chakra 3 is Manipura chakra. Manipura means "brilliant house" or jewel of the lotus and the
symbol for this chakra is a lotus flower with ten petals, as you can see in the image.

Each of the 7 chakras is represented by a color, an element, a verb, and a sense and each has a mantra that is connected to
it.

The color yellow represents the solar plexus chakra. Yellow represents intellectual thinking, which relates to the meaning
of the chakra name, "brilliant house".

The verb that is associated with this third chakra is "to act" or "to do" and it's corresponding element is fire.

Each chakra also governs part of our physical body and our emotional states. The third chakra governs the abdominal
organs in the physical vicinity where this chakra is located: the gallbladder, liver, pancreas, spleen and kidneys, as well as
the middle of the spine and small intestines.

An imbalance in any chakra has an effect on the physical health of the areas it governs. So what happens when chakra 3 is
out of balance?

The gland governed by the solar plexus chakra is the pancreas. It produces enzymes that are important in the digestion of
our food. One of these is the hormone insulin. Insulin regulates the glucose level in our blood (or our blood sugar level).

The juices and bile that are released by the pancreas help the body to digest fats, carbohydrates, and proteins. One of the
main consequences of a solar plexus chakra that is very out of balance can be the development of diabetes.

Pancreatitis, stomach ulcers, intestinal tumors and other colon diseases, liver problems, adrenal imbalances, arthritis, and
eating disorders like bulimia and anorexia are other medical problems that signify an imbalance in the third chakra.

Chakra 3 also governs many of our emotions and mental states. They include mental acuity (as this chakra represents
intellectual thinking), a sense of identity and belonging, vitality, desire, will, a sense of power and ego.

If you experience one or more of these problems, you may want to look to an imbalance of the solar plexus chakra as a

5
possible cause: low self esteem and other issues with self image, timidity, fear of rejection, or being over sensitive to
criticism.

Anger and hostility issues, aggressiveness, or its opposite, passiveness, are also indications that this energy center is out
of balance.

The gemstones that are said to help balance chakra 3 are topaz, citrine and calcite, all stones that are most often yellow in
color.

The essential oils that may be an aid for this Manipura chakra energy center include lavender, peppermint, rosemary,
chamomile and bergamot. Using them can help to balance the energy in this area.

This chakra is all about balance in areas of how we feel about ourselves, including self esteem and feelings of
empowerment or lack of power. In fact, the goal of this chakra in our lifetime is to fully experience who we are without
the opposite poles of fear or a need to control.

The Fourth Chakra: The Heart Chakra

The fourth chakra, known more commonly as the heart chakra, is located in the center of the chest, near the heart.

The Sanskrit name for the 4th chakra heart center is Anahata, which means unhurt, unstuck, or unbeaten.

The heart is known as the symbol of life and is represented by a lotus flower with twelve petals. In numerology the
twelve petals reduce to the number three. The number three represents the relationship between wisdom, love and
power.

The heart is known as the symbol of life and the heart chakra is identified as the seat of love.

Two colors are associated with the heart chakra, most commonly a soft green. Green symbolizes health and healing. Pink,
the color that represents peace, is also associated with our heart energy center.

Each chakra has an as element, a verb, a gland, a mantra and a sense that it is identified with. The element represented by
the fourth chakra is air and the verb is "to love".

The sense that correlates to the Anahata chakra is the sense of touch.

6
The gland that relates to this Anahata chakra is the thymus gland (although there is also a minor chakra, the thymus
chakra, that is located between the heart and the 5th or throat chakra). A healthy thymus gland is crucial to a healthy
immune system and vital for effective healing of the body.

As we have said in our discussions of the other chakras, each chakra is linked with particular parts of the physical body as
well as our emotional nature or emotional body.

The areas of the physical body governed by the heart chakra include the thymus, heart, blood and circulatory system, the
lungs and diaphragm, breasts, shoulders, arms, hands and the thoracic vertebrae of the spine.

When the chakra heart is out of balance it can exhibit itself as issues with the heart, the thoracic area of the spine, lung
disease, asthma and other breathing problems, breast tumors or problems in the upper back and shoulders.

If you are experiencing any of these physical conditions, you may want to look at a imbalance in your heart chakra region
as a cause. That cause may possibly be seen in emotional issues or states you could be experiencing.

On an emotional level, the heart chakra governs love and compassion, hope, trust, emotional stability and empowerment,
forgiveness, wisdom, and healing. It is about our ability to give and receive love; to love both ourselves and others
unconditionally.

Difficulties with love, feeling a lack of hope, despair, hate, jealousy, fear, anger or moodiness are emotional problems
experienced when the fourth chakra is out of balance.

A balanced chakra, on the other hand, exhibits itself in a sense of optimism, a nurturing, empathetic and compassionate
nature, feeling motivated, and feeling a sense of wholeness or completeness.

Any hurtful situation that affects our emotional body wounds the chakra heart as well. That is an important consideration
to keep in mind if you are going through something that is hurtful and painful. You may want to look at ways you can
protect your heart chakra.

One of the most effective ways to develop a healthy chakra heart center is to learn to love yourself. Loving ourselves can
be a difficult thing to master for most of us, but you can see from the effect on the heart chakra, and consequently on our
physical heart and surrounding organs, how important it is.

Gemstones are thought to help balance chakras, especially if worn close to the body. The gem stones that relate to this
chakra are jade, rose quartz, aventurine, and rhodochrosite.

The essential oils that are compatible with this 4th chakra are jasmine, lavender and marjoram.

The heart chakra is all about love in all its forms; about having healthy relationships, both with ourself and with others. It
is about showing compassion, having hope and feeling a solid sense of emotional empowerment.

Our purpose in this lifetime relating to the heart chakra is to experience a connectedness with others and a feeling of
compassion for both others and for ourselves.

The 5th Chakra - The Throat Chakra

The 5th chakra, the throat chakra, is located at the base of the throat, in the V that is formed in the center of the collarbone.

All chakras have an original Sanskrit name. Vishudha, meaning purification or pure, is the Sanskrit name for the fifth
chakra.

As we have noted in previous discussions, each of the major 7 chakras has an associated color, element and verb.

The throat chakra is represented by the color blue. The mid blue color that this chakra is associated with represents trust,
wisdom, loyalty, faith and truth.

The symbol for the 5th chakra is a lotus flower with sixteen petals. In numerology the number sixteen reduces to a
number 7 (add the one and the six in the number sixteen together to obtain a single digit). Seven represents knowledge,
understanding, awareness and analysis.

The element that the throat chakra relates to is sound (although some references say "ether").

This chakra is also considered the chakra of communication and its corresponding verb is "to speak". It is the seat of our
creative expression and of communication.

As you probably know by now from reading the other chakra information on these pages, each of the 7 chakras governs
particular parts of the physical body as well as certain emotional aspects of our personalities.

The corresponding gland for this chakra is the thyroid, located quite near the chakra energy center itself.

The thyroid gland secretes hormones that are important for the optimal operation of most organs and cells in our body.
These hormones help to regulate the body’s metabolism and the functioning of our organs. Our heart rate, body weight,
energy level, skin texture, memory, muscle tone and the regularity of womens' menstrual cycles are regulated to a large
extent by the this important gland.

The areas of the physical body that the throat chakra govern include the throat and thyroid gland of course. The
parathyroid gland, the vocal cords, esophagus, neck, shoulders and arms, mouth, teeth, trachea and cervical vertebrae of
the spine are also impacted by the balance or imbalance of this 5th chakra.

So what happens to us physically when the throat chakra is out of balance?

8
Physically an unbalanced throat chakra is exhibited in problems like thyroid dysfunctions, voice problems, neck
problems, jaw issues (TMJ), laryngitis, a sore throat, swollen glands, problems with gums and teeth, hearing problems,
and ear infections.

On an emotional level, the 5th chakra is the chakra of communications and creativity. It governs speech, creativity and
self expression, whether that expression is through our spoken word, the written word, or our thoughts.

This particular chakra also relates to our chosen career or vocation. Self knowledge is also an aspect of a balanced throat
chakra, as well as truthfulness and faith.

If your Vishudha or 5th chakra is balanced you are independent, experience a sense of security and communicate
effectively and honestly. You have learned to take responsibility for your own needs and can express yourself creatively.

If the throat chakra is out of balance, either due to too much energy or chi, or too little, it can manifest in problems with
decision making or personal expression, feeling unable to express yourself creatively, fear of speaking or excessive
speaking, the inability to listen, being critical, being dishonest or physical addictions.

As with the other of the seven chakras, there are gemstones that are said to help balance the energies of the throat chakra.
These include blue stones like lapis and turquoise as well as blue topaz, azurite and kyanite. Any of these gemstones may
be worn near the body to enhance the energy of the 5th chakra.

The essential oils that relate to this chakra include frankincense and eucalyptus.

The life lesson or goal for this lifetime relating to the fifth chakra is all about communication - both being heard and being
understood. It is about speaking your truth and hearing the truth from others.

The Sixth Chakra - The Third Eye Chakra

The sixth chakra, called the third eye chakra is located in the center of the forehead, between and above the eyebrows.

Because of its location, it is also sometimes referred to as the brow chakra.

The proper Sanskrit name for this area is the Ajna chakra. Ajna means command, authority, or knowledge.

9
The third eye is a symbol of enlightenment in east Indian philosophy. It is also referred to as the "eye of wisdom" or the
"eye of knowledge". The red dot worn between the eyes by many Hindus symbolizes the third eye.

The third eye is also referred to as the "mind's eye", so if you have ever heard the expression seeing something "in your
mind's eye", this is where the saying came from.

The sixth chakra is associated with the color indigo, a very dark blue. Indigo represents self-mastery, spiritual realization
and the attainment of wisdom.

Each of the 7 chakras has a related element, verb and symbol.

Light is the element most attach to the Ajna chakra, but some references say it is Time.

Fittingly, the verb associated with chakra 6 is "to see".

The third eye chakra is represented by a lotus flower with two large (often depicted as white) lotus petals. The number
two means subtle, patient, harmonious, peaceful, sincere, cooperative and diplomatic, empathetic, intuitive, and loving.

Each of the 7 chakras governs certain areas of the physical body as well as mental and emotional states.

This chakra governs the pineal gland, but is also associated with the pituitary gland. The pituitary gland is often referred
to as the "master gland" because it controls the functions of the bodys' other endocrine glands.

The pituitary gland produces hormones that regulate several areas of the body. For example they control growth, skin
coloring and the contraction of a woman's uterus during childbirth. The pituitary also stimulates other gland such as the
thyroid.

In addition to governing the pituitary and the pineal glands, the third eye chakra is associated with the health of the
brain, eyes, the nose and sinuses, the face and our neurological system.

An imbalance in this part of our etheric body exhibits itself physically through things like migraine headaches, eye strain,
blindness, brain tumors, strokes, learning disabilities, spinal dysfunctions, nightmares or panic attacks. Difficulty
concentrating, confusion and memory problems are also connected to a 6th chakra imbalance.

On mental and emotional levels, the sixth chakra is linked to our higher mind. Intuition, a sixth sense, extra sensory
perception (ESP), telepathy, spiritual vision and insight are all related to the third eye chakra. So are wisdom, the intellect
and understanding.

Chakra 6 is the seat of our primordial power. It directs our perception, intuitive reasoning, imagination, intuition, ability
to concentrate, and visualization.

If the third eye chakra is in balance, we are able to concentrate and focus as needed; we can imagine something and bring
that idea into reality, and we have a strong sense of intuition.

An unbalanced Ajna chakra can result in problems with the ability to evaluate something properly, judgement issues,
confusion, lack of concentration or discipline, and lack of touch with reality.

The gemstones that may help in balancing this chakra include amethyst and moonstone. A small piece of either of these
stones worn close to the body can help to mobilize energy in this area.

The essential oils associated with brining balance to the 6th chakra include jasmine and mint.

10
Each of the seven chakras has a purpose in our life and calls us to learn lessons in this lifetime.

The third eye chakra is about bringing action to our ideas, developing our mind and intellect, dreaming, and developing
our sense of perception.

The third eye chakra can be opened and brought into greater balance through meditation and other exercises.

Development of the third eye chakra in this lifetime will allow us to more properly use intuition in decision making
instead of the judgement that comes from the use of our physical senses only.

It is about reconnecting to the wisdom that is available to us from within.

The 7th Chakra is Known as - The Crown Chakra

The 7th chakra, more commonly referred to as the crown chakra, is located just above the top of the head.

If you stand straight, imagine a small hole at the very top of your head. That is where the 7th chakra is located.

The Sanskrit name for chakra 7 is Sahasrara, which means thousand petal lotus. The chakra is symbolized by just that - a
lotus flower with a thousand petals.

The number of petals in the chakra image is symbolic as well. The number 1000, represented by the thousand petals in the
crown chakra symbol, adds up and reduces to the number 1 in numerology.

The number one represents strong leadership and will power, a courageous person who is goal oriented and driven. A
number one person is a pioneer who is independent and individualistic and approaches issues from a unique perspective.
A number one is original and sometimes unconventional. They possess tremendous potential for success in life.

Each of the 7 chakras is associated with a particular color, verb, an element and a mantra.

The crown chakra is associated with the color violet. Some references link it to the color white as well. Violet is the highest
color in the light spectrum. It represents the spiritual or higher self, wisdom, vitality, intuitive awareness, passion and
dignity. White is purity and the color of the Divine light.

11
The verb for the 7th chakra is "to know". The mantra is no sound at all, simple silence.

The element associated with the violet chakra is cosmic energy, although some references will say space or thought. We
may experience this cosmic energy as a white light coming from inside of us. It is the light of our Creator, our all knowing
Source.

Each chakra also governs particular areas of our physical body as well as our emotions.

Physically the violet chakra is associated with the pituitary and pineal glands, although Edgar Cayce indicates that it is
just the pituitary gland.

The pineal gland is located between the two hemispheres of the brain, just above the spinal column. It produces the
hormone melatonin which regulates our sleep.

The pituitary gland is often referred to as the "master gland" because it controls the functions of the bodys' other
endocrine glands.

The pineal gland is also considered the primary link between the brain and our soul.

The crown chakra oversees the brain, the top of the head, and the hormone and nervous systems. When it is out of
balance you may experience a sensitivity to light and a chronic tiredness.

On an emotional level, our violet chakra reigns over peace and enlightenment, understanding and knowledge. It is the
seat of our conscious awareness and divinity and helps to integrate the whole of who we are.

The crown chakra allows wisdom to flow to us. We feel the connection to our spirituality through this 7th chakra and it is
the center of eternal bliss, liberation and connection to the Divine.

When the crown chakra is in balance we experience an ability to understand and learn new information easily. We make
logical decisions easily and may have a strong sense of humanitarianism and devotion. We feel open minded and
thoughtful and are more connected to our spiritual nature. We develop a trust in the Divine.

An unbalanced violet chakra can exhibit itself in a feeling of lack of purpose or inspiration, confusion, a lack of
understanding, a loss of identity, apathy, learning difficulties, or denial of our spirituality.

There are gemstones that can help to balance the crown chakra, but I would suggest using them with caution. Clear
quartz, white jade and diamonds are associated with the 7th chakra. Each of these is a powerful crystal and should be
used with caution and guidance.

The essential oils associated with this violet chakra include lotus and bilbanum.

The crown chakra is all about our spiritual nature and connecting with the Divine. It is about selflessness,
humanitarianism and integrating the whole of who we are. The life lesson relating to the 7th chakra in this lifetime is
about experiencing the Divine and learning to understand the Divine meaning in life.

Chakra Chart

The chakra chart below shows you the exact location of each of the 7 chakras in the body.

What are Chakras?

Chakras are energy centers that are located throughout our body. Energy is absorbed and released from our body
through these energy centers.

It is said by those who can actually see this energy that the energy actually spins, so you will often hear these points
referred to as energy wheels.

There are actually more than seven chakras, but the seven we are talking about here are considered the main energy
centers of the body, often called the major chakras.

These seven chakras form a line along our spinal column with certain spots being the focal point of energy movement for
a particular chakra.

That point is where energy is absorbed and released.

Each chakra affects the parts of the body near where it is located, so it is important to understand the location of the major
chakras and what areas of the physical and emotional body they govern.

The Chakra Chart

Referring to the chakra chart above you can see the general location of each of the 7 chakras. More specific information is
given below and in each description there is a link to a page with a lot more information about that particular chakra
energy center.

1. The first chakra is referred to as the Root Chakra because it is located in the root area of our body trunk. The exact
location of this base chakra is at the very bottom of our spine. It is in the groin area, between our sex organs and perineum
(near the anus).

On a physical level, the root chakra governs the health of the groin area and lower limbs, plus the lower digestive system
and excretory functions.

On an emotional level this chakra governs our primal instincts of survival, our fight or flight mentality.

2. The second chakra is the Sacral Chakra, sometimes also know as the Spleen Chakra (it is referred to as the "Splenic
Chakra" in this chakra chart).

13
The sacral chakra is located in the sacrum area of our body, about two inches below the navel, between the waist and the
pubic bone. The second chakra corresponds to the genitourinary system (genitals and urinary tract), the reproductive
system and the adrenal glands.

Emotionally, the second chakra governs our relationships and basic emotional needs including pleasure and enthusiasm.

3. The third chakra is commonly known as the Solar Plexus Chakra because it is located in the solar plexus area of the
body.

Although people often also refer to this chakra as the navel chakra, its exact location is just above the navel and below the
bottom of the rib cage (diaphragm) in the area of the lumbar vertebrae of the spine.

Physically, the solar plexus chakra governs digestion, the pancreas, kidneys and other abdominal organs.

Emotionally, this is the center of self will and mental acuity. Our sense of belonging comes from a balanced solar plexus
chakra.

4. The 4th chakra is known as the Heart Chakra. It is located along the spinal column in the center front of our chest, near
the heart (see the chakra chart above).

It makes sense then that the chakra heart would govern the heart on both a physical and emotional level and it does. The
heart chakra is connected with the heart and rib cage, thymus gland, breasts, shoulders, blood and circulatory system.

Emotionally this energy center is the center of compassion, love, healing and hope.

5. The fifth chakra or Throat Chakra is so named because it is located in the throat area. Its exact location is at the very
base of the throat where the collarbone comes to a V shape.

Not surprisingly, the throat chakra governs the throat and thyroid gland. It is also connected with the parathyroid gland,
trachea and the cervical vertebrae of the spine.

On an emotional level the fifth chakra is the center of speech and communication.

6. The Third Eye Chakra is the 6th chakra. Eastern philosophies were first to recognize a "third eye". It is located on the
forehead, between and slightly above the eyebrows (see the chakra diagram). Another common name is the brow chakra.

On a physical level this sixth chakra governs the brain and pituitary gland, plus the eyes, ears and nose.

Emotions governed include our sense of intuition, insight and imagination. This is also the center or our higher mind and
our "sixth sense".

7. The 7th Chakra is called the Crown Chakra because of it's location at the crown of our head. Often called the violet
chakra for its association with that color, the exact location is just slightly above the center of the top of the head.

Physically, the crown chakra is associated with the pineal gland, top of the head, the cerebral cortex and the hormone
system.

Emotionally this chakra is related to enlightenment, peace and divinity. Our connection to spirituality and understanding
of the cosmos emanates from this chakra.

Chakra Healing: The 11 Major Chakras of Pranic Healing

I have been interested in chakra healing and all forms of energy healing for some time.

On learning more about pranic healing (more about that on another page), I have come to learn that pranic healing is an
alternative energy healing that deals with 11 chakras, instead of the 7 we are so familiar with.

I really do believe that we have much more control over our own health than traditional medicine has led us to believe.

I think that most traditional doctors truly have our best interests at heart, and I would not do without the services of one
when I need it, but I think that alternative energy healing (spiritual healing to some) can do wonders to keep us healthy
and help us to return to optimum health when required.

We all have times when we become angry, frustrated or hold bitterness and resentment. The energy that those and other
negative feelings create builds in our bodies over time and is held in the etheric body, which houses hundreds of chakras
or energy centers.

This is the time that chakra healing through pranic healing can work wonders.

Chakra healing is really chakra balancing, or clearing the negative or "dirty" energy from blocked chakra centers. When
the chakra is uncongested energy flows freely around and through it to help keep us healthy.

Here is a list of the 11 chakras in pranic healing and a description of what physical areas each one governs:

11 Pranic Healing Chakras

1. The Basic Chakra

The basic chakra is located at the bottom end of the spine. It is usually represented as being in the back of your body,
midway down your bottom.

This basic chakra has 4 petals. It is analogous to the roots of a tree. The roots need to be strong for the tree to be strong.
Likewise, if the basic chakra is weak or out of alignment, the whole body is affected.

The basic chakra is roughly equivalent to the root or base chakra in the 7 chakra system.

The basic chakra governs the blood, bones, muscle tissues and adrenal glands. It also controls your general energy level. If
this chakra is out of balance you may experience arthritis or rheumatism or feel extreme tiredness and lethargy.

2. The Sex Chakra

The sex chakra is located near the pubic bone.

The sex chakra has 6 petals and governs the urinary tract, bladder and sexual organs. When this chakra is out of balance it
will often affect the sexual organs or manifest as sex related issues.

The sex chakra in the pranic system is basically equivalent to the sacral chakra in the 7 chakras system.

15
The sex chakra is closely connected to the ajna chakra, the throat chakra (both of which we will discuss below) and the
basic chakra, so if any of these are out of balance it will adversely affect the sex chakra as well. As I said before, Chakra
healing is all about chakra balancing.

3. The Meng Mein Chakra

The meng mein chakra is one we don't often hear of outside of pranic healing. It is located in the hollow of the back, along
the waist, basically directly behind the navel.

The meng mein chakra is one of the secondary chakras and is about half the size of the major chakras, but it is quite
powerful.

It is called the "pumping station" of the body. Located directly on the lower spine, it sends the pranic energy from the
lower basic chakra to upper parts of the body.

On a physical level, it governs the kidneys and adrenal glands, so problems in this area indicate unbalanced energy in the
meng mein that needs cleaning and chakra healing.

The meng mein also controls blood pressure. If you experience high blood pressure, kidney or back problems or low
vitality, this chakra is probably congested or depleted.

4. The Navel Chakra

The navel chakra is located directly on the navel in the center of our waist. It has 8 petals.

The navel chakra controls and energizes the intestines, both large and small, as well as the appendix. Imbalance in the
navel chakra manifests in things like constipation, appendicitis and other complications of the intestinal tract.

The navel chakra also contains something called biosynthetic ki (or chi or energy). This ki affects our ability to draw in,
distribute and assimilate prana energy (or life energy).

For example, when there are bad weather conditions, there is less life energy (prana) in the air. People with a congested or
depleted navel chakra will have less biosynthetic ki and will have more difficulty drawing in air during that time. It can
leave them feeling very tired or emotionally low during those times.

When you are feeling low for seemingly no reason, the navel chakra needs cleaning and energizing.

Chakra Balancing and the 11 Pranic Healing Chakras (Continued)

This page continues our examining of the importance of chakra balancing on the 11 chakras in the pranic healing system.

Alternative energy healing is all about the chakras and balancing the chakras.

What is chakra balancing?

Energy swirls around each of our major and minor chakras.

If we have been feeling negative emotions, that energy is unhealthy and disrupts the easy flow of energy (or prana in

16
pranic healing) through our energy body.

Without balancing that energy, this can result in physical illness. Chakra balancing removes the congested energy and
restores depleted energy where needed.

(Look here to read about chakra healing of pranic healing chakras 1 to 4.)

5. The Spleen Chakra

The spleen chakra is one of pranic healing's double chakras, meaning we have one located in the front of our body and
one straight behind in the back.

The front spleen chakra is located on the left side of the abdomen, right around the middle of the bottom left rib. The back
spleen chakra is straight behind. The spleen chakra, like the meng mein chakra is one of the secondary chakras and is 1/3
to 1/2 the size of the major chakras.

The spleen chakra is very important in pranic healing chakra balancing. It is the main entry point of air prana, or energy
brought into our bodies through air. The spleen chakra takes in this energy, breaks it down and distributes it to other
parts of the body (other chakras).

A weak spleen chakra usually means a weak body.

6. The Solar Plexus Chakra

The solar plexus chakra in pranic healing corresponds to the solar plexus chakra of the seven chakras system. This chakra
also has a front and back chakra.

The front solar plexus chakra is located in the hollow area created between the bottom ribs. The back one is on the back,
straight behind the front solar plexus chakra.

This chakra is VERY important in chakra healing and balancing. It is the body's energy clearing house. Energies from the
lower and higher chakras pass through it. Because of this it can easily become congested, or filled with negative energy.

The solar plexus chakra controls and energizes the diaphragm, the liver and pancreas and the stomach. It affects the
quality of the blood and our cholesterol level. Therefore the health of this chakra also affects the heart.

The solar plexus chakra is also affected by our emotions. When you become upset or angry you are depositing negative or
dirty energy into this chakra.

7. The Heart Chakra

There is also a front and back heart chakra. The front heart chakra is located directly in the center of the chest. It has 12
petals.

It obviously governs the heart, but also the thymus gland as well as the circulatory system.

If the heart chakra is severely out of balance, it will manifest in heart ailments and circulatory problems. Also, because the
solar plexus chakra is effected so much by our emotions, malfunctioning of it can cause problems with the heart chakra as
well as the physical heart.

17
The back heart chakra is on the back, directly behind the heart chakra. It controls the lungs. Ailments such as asthma
result from an unbalanced back heart chakra.

8. The Throat Chakra

The throat chakra is located at the very center of the throat. It corresponds to the 5th chakra in the 7 chakras system, also
called the throat chakra.

The throat chakra energizes and controls the larynx, trachea, throat, esophagus, thyroid and parathyroid glands. Chakra
balancing of this chakra is necessary for health issues such as sore throats, laryngitis, asthma (also the heart chakra as
stated above), coughs and goiter.

9. The Ajna Chakra

In the 7 chakras system the Ajna chakra is better known as the brow or third eye chakra. It has 96 petals.

The ajna chakra is located directly between the eyebrows. It energizes and controls the endocrine glands, including the
pituitary gland and to some extent controls the respiratory system.

This chakra is referred to as the master chakra because it directs the other chakras, as well as their glands and organs. In
effect it controls the entire endocrine system.

When this chakra is unbalanced it can manifest in diseases like diabetes.

10. The Forehead Chakra

At the very center of the forehead is the forehead chakra.

The forehead chakra controls the nervous system and the pineal gland. If the forehead chakra is severely out of balance,
physical ailments such as loss of memory, epilepsy and paralysis may result.

11. The Crown Chakra

The crown chakra is located at the top of the head, directly at the crown of the head. It has 960 outer petals and 12 inner
petals and is the 7th chakra in the 7 chakras system.

On a physical level the crown chakra governs the pineal gland and the brain. Chakra balancing of this area helps to
normalize all of the chakras. As well, energizing this area through chakra healing energizes the entire body.

Improper functioning of the crown chakra manifests in diseases that are related to either the pineal gland or the brain.
Brain illnesses can be physical or psychological.

To me the pranic healing system expands on the system of the major 7 chakras. It focuses on the 7 chakras we are familiar
with, as well as the major back chakras and a few other important chakras to restore health through chakra balancing.

Mind Body Spirit and The Meaning of Colors

Whether we are aware of it or not, the meaning of colors influences us in many ways. It is very much part of the mind
body spirit connection.

Color is energy. It is the reflection of light split into different wave lengths and vibrating at different frequencies. We don't
really see the color, we see its absence. We experience the color blue for example because the object we are looking at
absorbs the energy of all other colors except blue.

Colour is very symbolic and has meaning on all levels - physical, mental and spiritual.

Think of how you felt that last time you saw a lush green pasture or gazed out over a tranquil blue lake. These are images
that tend to soothe and inspire us.

Wearing a new red dress can make a woman feel bold, confident and sexy.

The color pink makes us think of soft things, like babies and little girls.

21
Red and green are the colors of Christmas and that combination of colors alone, even apart from anything Christmas
related, evokes memories of the holidays, in North Americans at least.

Color is used in healing, in showing the world who we are and in creating harmony in our environment.

Color therapy, using either colored lights or color baths, has been used successfully to provide our body with the colour
energy it needs to correct emotional and physical imbalances. If you have too much red energy, you may feel agitated or
hot headed. Taking a walk in the woods or taking a green energy bath helps to balance the hot energy of red with the
cooling and calming energy of the color green.

We can't imagine our lives without color, even if we tend to not notice its impact much of the time. Color can be divided
into two basic groups. The meaning of colors that fall into the red-orange-yellow group is vibrancy and excitement, while
the blue-green colors have a more passive or calm influence.

The impact of color on various aspects of our lives and our emotions has been studied for years.

Research has shown that people who prefer the warmer red-orange-yellow color spectrum tend to be extroverted, while a
blue-green color preference indicates a more introspective, quiet and detached personality. Yellow tends to be a color
selected by intellectuals while artistic types are more drawn towards purple or violet. More well-balanced individuals
tend to pick greens.

Edgar Cayce spoke about color and the meaning of colors in several of his readings. He stated that color is vibration or
movement and has both a positive and negative force. You will see as you read the individual meaning of colors linked
below that each color has positive qualities and is good used in certain circumstances, as well as negative qualities which
mean that it will be a negative influence if used under some circumstances.

For example, the color red indicates boldness, vitality and action. It also connotes sex appeal. The flip side however is that
color meanings for red also include anger and selfishness.

Knowing the meaning of colors and the principles of color theory we can express ourselves creatively, positively and
dynamically. We can use it in harmony with the Creative Force.1

I like this quote from Ingrid Naess about how our understanding of the meaning of colors will influence us in the future:

"The future will provide us with so much - we shall begin to understand more and more about the importance of colour
in our homes, in public institutions, and in our private lives... holistic teachings will help us understand that not only is
the relation between our body and soul dependent on each other, but we are dependent on our surroundings, our
surroundings are dependent on the ecological balance, the ecological balance is dependent on the cosmic balance, which
is dependent on a power that... I call divine power."2

The Meaning of The Color Red

The meaning of colors is an integral part of the mind body spirit connection.

The color red is one of the most vibrant colors in the spectrum.

Red color has the longest wavelength in the visible color spectrum. It is also the visible light nearest to infrared in the
electromagnetic spectrum. Infrared waves produce heat and objects that are very heated eventually become visibly red.

It comes as no surprise then to learn that red is associated with fire, burning, heat and warmth.

22
Being the color of blood, red is also connected to life and that which sustains life. It is associated with living life at to its
fullest.

The color red is seen as exciting and sexy. Edgar Cayce says that "the red vibration is the spirit of activity, a moving
influence" 1. Red denotes a vibrant force. It expresses an outgoing vibration of aggressiveness, vitality and excitement.
People who favor the color red are often extroverts.

Edgar Cayce, in his readings, stated that a preference for a red color "denotes a strong sex drive, a creativeness, a desire
for new things and new friends, for travel and change, both in environment and friends". 1

Generally the positive sides of the colour red include action, courage, a strong will, honesty, confidence, spontaneity,
vibrancy and gratitude.

Everything is in balance in our world, so just as there are positive aspects of the meaning of red, there are negatives
associated with this color as well.

Red is associated with danger. Stop signs, stop lights and fire trucks are red.

The color red is associated with selfishness, self-centeredness, anger and a temper. It is related to aggressiveness, a war-
like attitude and conquest.

Red color is connected to nervousness, abruptness, instability and fickleness of feelings.

People who exhibit these negative personal attributes may have an excess of red energy and need to take time to be quiet
and introspective, or to do for others in order to get outside of themselves.

Although meditation is an excellent practice for anyone who has an excess of energy from the color red, you may find it
especially difficult to quiet the mind, as red energy is quite vibrant and active.

Red in the Chakra System

The color red is associated with the 1st chakra, often called the base chakra or the root chakra. In the chakra system an
imbalance in the root chakra can leave you feeling insecure, depressed, angry or fearful. It can also result in being
ungrounded, absent minded, or a sensation having your head in the clouds.

Red Gemstones

The gem stones associated with the color red are the same as those associated with the root chakra. They include the ruby,
garnet, bloodstone, red jasper and red coral.

Red gems placed in your home or workplace stimulate energy and add vitality. They also increase passion, which may
become a negative, so be careful with red gemstones.

Carrying red color gemstones or wearing them next to your body can help strengthen the body and promotes confidence
and courage. It also adds vitality and energy.

Red is a powerful color so be careful with it and be aware of what is happening to and around you if you incorporate it
more into your life.

23
Adding The Color Red in Your Life

Studying the meaning of colors shows us that colors have a big influence on our emotions. It makes sense then that there
are times when adding a particular color to your life makes sense and other times when it may be ill advised.

Add Some Red To Your Life:

• When you are experiencing a lack of energy or are very tired. The high energy level of a red color can perk you up.
• When you are feeling physically cold or are beginning to get a cold.
• If you have poor blood circulation.
• If you are feeling fearful, anxious or insecure and need a boost of self-confidence or courage.
• If you feel a lack of interest in life in general or a lack of enthusiasm.
• If you want to add energy to a space (eg children's playroom or a workspace). Be mindful though that red also
increases aggressiveness and passion.
Do Not Add Red:

• If you are feeling out of balance emotionally.

• If you are feeling angry.
• If you want peace and contentment to prevail in that space.

Wearing Red

If you are a woman, wearing red is seen as sexy and bold. Men tend to pick the color red as one of their favorites, so they
may notice a woman in a red dress more readily.

Wear something red if you want to be thought of as confident and dynamic. It is surprising how a little bit of red can
increase your confidence.

Wear the color red if you want to be noticed. For example, if you are attending a social event where you don't know many
people, wearing red may draw people towards you more than another color.

Red Characteristics

Day: Tuesday

Sign: Aries

Planet: Mars (Edgar Cayce says Saturn)

Gland associated with the color Red: gonads (testes and ovaries)

Red Foods: Beets, radishes, red cabbage, strawberries, cherries, red skinned apples, other red skinned fruits, tomatoes,
watercress, spinach, meat, cayenne pepper

Red Gemstones: red coral, bloodstone, garnet, red jasper, ruby

Chakra: Base or Root Chakra (the 1st chakra)

The Meaning of The Color Orange

The color orange is a power color.

Although the color red is associated with fiery, burning heat, orange color is softer and is more connected to the warmth
of the sun.

24
Orange is still an active, vibrant color and associated with movement, but it does not carry with it the connection to
passion and extremes that the color red does. It marries the vitality of red with the stability of endurance.

Orange color stimulates creativity. People who love orange are often curious and love exploring new things. They are
thought of as sincere and thoughtful.

Edgar Cayce, in his readings, says "orange is indicative of creative expression, the spark of genius. Because it is associated
with two of the lower four centers... it would be expressive of earthiness and nature." 1

Orange is thought to be the best emotional stimulant and can be helpful if you are depressed, bored or lonely. It helps to
bring out the joy we have inside us.

If you favor an the color orange, you are considered to be a social person who is able to get along with many types of
people. You exhibit a sincere desire to like people and also want people to like you.

An orange lover is seen as loving freedom and is always looking to expand his or her interests and to succeed in life.

Preference for an orange colour can also indicate someone who has a desire to be successful in whatever you do. The
meaning of orange indicates an optimism about the future and a natural enthusiasm about life and living life to the
fullest.

An orange colour in the room or in clothing can increase the craving for food. That's great if you want to put on weight,
but not so great for the rest of us. If you notice yourself craving food more when you wear orange, you may want to cut
down on wearing it. If your kitchen is painted orange and you notice this issue comes up with you, you may want to get
out the paint can and repaint.

Because the meaning of the color orange is a toned down physical energy and includes a fondness for food, it is a good
color to have in a dining room or a room where you want to host family and friends. The color orange also activates
intellectual vibrations and is a good color for a room where you may want to study or read intently.

Overall, the positive aspects of the color orange include a joy in living, enthusiasm for life and new activities and
interests. It indicates a sociable nature, high energy, self-assuredness and creative thinking and ideas. Orange is
spontaneous, independent and indicates a fondness for food.

As with all things in life, there is a ying and a yang, a positive nature as well as negative aspects.

The negative qualities associated with the color orange include aspects of a destructive nature, including food issues and
a misuse of alcohol. Excessive orange in a persons aura can indicate someone who feels self-pity or is fickle in their
friendships. As I indicated above, orange can also increase cravings for food, a negative for many people.

Orange in the Chakra System:

The color orange is associated with the second chakra, most often referred to as the sacral chakra or the spleen chakra.

The areas of the physical body governed by the sacral chakra include the spleen and the reproductive organs or gonads.
Creative energy is thought to be initiated in the area of the gonads, which is why orange color is associated with
creativity.

As with everything, balance is important in our etheric chakra system. If the sacral chakra is out of balance and you have
an excess of orange energy, you can be overly sensitive to how others feel about you and try to hard to satisfy others to
your own detriment.

25
Misuse of stimulants and extreme indulgence are also symptoms of the orange color chakra being out of balance. That can
include excessive participation in eating, sports or in sexual activity.

Orange Gemstones

Orange colored gemstones include Carnelian, Fire Opal, Sunstone, Orange Calcite, Tangerine Quartz, Orange Kyanite
and Orange Elestial.

Orange gemstones contain aspects of the passionate and fiery attributes of the color red, but are gentler. They carry a
more creative energy.

Place the color orange gemstones around your home or in your office, or keep one with you if you desire to stimulate
creative ideas and expression, increase the ability to handle change well and increase your self esteem.

Adding The Color Orange in Your Life

Add Some Orange To Your Life:

It is of benefit to add orange to your life when:

• You want to increase your creativity and generation of new ideas.

• You want to feel more joy and spontaneity in your life.
• You are bored or depressed and want a pick me up.
• You want to lighten up the mood.
• You have a need to bring out the joy you have within.
• You want to have a feeling of well being.
• On a physical level, the color orange is of benefit to add to your surroundings if you have chronic eczema or other skin
conditions, if you have asthma or allergies, or if you want to increase your appetite.
Do Not Add Orange:

• If you have issues with food or alcohol.

• If you have a tendency towards self-pity.

Wearing Orange

There are times that wearing the color orange can help to balance your emotions. It is particularly helpful if you are
feeling stressed.

An orange color can help you to embrace new ideas with joy and bring out your creative side.

Wearing the colour orange makes you shows caring of others and thoughtfulness. It expresses an interest in others and it
helps to express joy.

Too much orange can make you seem dependent on others and self-pitying. It can also make you appear to be insecure.

Orange Characteristics

Day: Wednesday

Sign: Red/Orange is Taurus, Orange is Gemini and Yellow/Orange is Cancer

26
Planet: Edgar Cayce says orange is associated with the planet Neptune but other sources say Red/Orange is Venus,
Orange is Mercury and Yellow/Orange is the Moon

Gland associated with the color orange: Gonads (reproductive organs)

Orange Foods: Oranges, apricots, carrots, apricots, peaches, melons, carrots and mangoes

Gemstones: Carnelian, Fire Opal, Sunstone, Orange Calcite, Tangerine Quartz, Orange Kyanite

Chakra: the second or Sacral Chakra

The Meaning of The Color Yellow

The color yellow is the color of the sun and sunlight, so it makes sense that cheerfulness and happiness are associated
with this color.

A golden yellow color indicates health and well-being in the Edgar Cayce readings. "Such people take good care of
themselves, don't worry and learn easily. Good mentality is natural to them. They are happy, friendly, and helpful. 1

The colour yellow symbolizes joy and happiness. It is also related to wisdom, in thoughts words and deeds.

The positive characteristics of someone who has a well balanced yellow color energy include confidence, clear thinking,
creativeness, optimism, forcefulness, courage, strength of character, a good sense of humor and lots of energy.

A clear yellow color allows clarity of thought. It increases awareness and allows good ideas to flow. Both reading and
writing are helped by the color yellow. It has a fantastic healing effect on the nervous system as well.

Yellow color and yellow foods are thought to help children to understand and learn. In fact, research has been done that
shows that children with attention disorders may benefit from yellow foods and Omega 3 fatty acids.

On a physical level the color yellow helps with digestion and helps to prevent or eliminate digestive issues such as
constipation and flatulence. Yellow energy cleans the pores of the skin and helps with skin problems. It also affects the
liver.

An imbalance in yellow colored energy can be a contributing factor to developing diabetes and other metabolism
imbalances. In fact some authors have gone so far as to say that diabetes cannot occur in a body that has yellow energy in
balance. If you have diabetes, you may want to look at ways to determine if you have enough yellow energy or an
imbalance in the solar plexus chakra (see below for its connection to the color yellow).

As with other colors, the exact shade of yellow determines its ultimate effect on the psyche and the body. A clear, pure
yellow keeps the mind alert. Adding green can cause one to feel more disoriented. Adding orange lends itself to a feeling
of something being well established. Added a good amount of red can mean an interest in money and having security.

Generally, the negative aspects of the color yellow include a pessimistic attitude, skepticism and a feeling of restlessness.
Someone who tends towards excesses, whether it be in food consumption, drugs, alcohol or sex may have an excess of
yellow energy.

Excessive anger and the need to fight or cause strife are negative aspects of yellow as well. A person with a lot of yellow
energy may also tend to be cowardly and appear aloof. They may talk a good talk but never actually do anything. They
may feel a lack of purpose.

Yellow in the Chakra System:

27
The color yellow is associated with the third chakra, often called the solar plexus chakra.

The solar plexus chakra governs mental acuity, a sense of identity, vitality, desire, a sense of belonging and will.

Each chakra governs certain areas of the physical body. Distress in any of these parts of the body is the result of this
chakra being out of balance. If your solar plexus chakra is out of balance you can develop diabetes, gallstones and ulcers
as well as diseases of the large intestine.

Physical problems that stem from this third chakra arise because of issues with your emotions. You may have trouble
controlling your emotions or with showing emotion. If you are having physical problems with the areas outlined above,
you may want to look at balancing your solar plexus chakra and your yellow color energy.

Someone whose solar plexus chakra is balanced and who has sufficient color yellow energy is open and spontaneous.
Bouts of anger, sadness or depression indicate a need for more yellow energy.

Yellow Gemstones

The color yellow can be found in the following gem stones: Amber, Citrine, Lemon Quartz, Honey Calcite, Topaz, Yellow
Fluorite and Sulphur.

Carrying a yellow color gemstone can help to enhance decision making skills, so tuck one in your pocket or carry one in
your purse when you need to make a decision.

Gemstones in the color yellow are thought to be the best stones for writers and those who speak publicly. They help you
to express yourself clearly and eloquently.

Adding The Color Yellow in Your Life

Adding a particular color in your life, whether it is in the clothing you wear or the decor of your room, effects both your
mood and those of the people around you, so care should be taken when adding color. Certainly have fun with color, but
being aware of the effects it has and the best time to use each color makes the best and most productive use of color in
your life.

Add Some Yellow To Your Life:

Add some yellow to your life:

• When you are needing to make decisions and want to have a clear mind.
• When you need to concentrate on something or remember things. In that sense, yellow is a good color for an office
environment.
• When you are feeling dissatisfied with your life.
• When you feel panic.
• When you feel burned out.
• If you have digestive issues or flatulence.
• If you have skin problems.
• If you have weight problems, either wanting to lose weight or to gain it.
• Because the color yellow is contains creative and intellectual energy, using yellow colored paper and yellow note pads
is helpful for work or writing.
• When you are feeling tired.
• When you are feeling nervous.
• When you are feeling sadness or melancholy, or depression.
• When you are feeling the lethargic effects of dreary weather.
Do Not Add Yellow:

28
It is a good idea NOT to wear yellow if you are feeling the emotional effects of problems in your life. Yellow should not
be used in institutions for those with mental issues.

Wearing Yellow

Wearing the color yellow is cheerful and tends to have an uplifting effect on both the wearer and those around you, so
wear yellow when you want an emotional lift or you think it will have a positive emotional effect on those around you.

Wearing a yellow color can be particularly effective if you suffer from seasonal affective disorders during dull weather or
long dark winters.

Wear yellow when you need to make decisions. It helps to keep your mind clear and improves decision making. It also
helps your memory.

The Meaning of The Color Green

The meaning of the color green, particularly if it is a pure emerald green with just a touch of blue, is healing. Edgar Cayce
said that the colour green "symbolizes the master healer and the life force." 1

The colour green is the color of nature. We see it in grass, leaves, trees and other plants all around us. Green reflects life,
fertility and growth. People with green thumbs are known for their ability to make things grow. Green vegetables are
among the healthiest foods to eat.

A green color exhibits energies of growth and desires to expand and increase. Growth requires transformation and
change, and the energy of the color green adds the ability to manage change.

Although green is thought of as a passive color, it is fresh and cool and has a soothing and restful effect, suggesting a
respite from the worries and cares of the world. The color green offers a sense of renewal and freshness.

A green color suggests a sense of balance, well-being, harmony and a sense of order.

If you are feeling a need for more green energy in life, simply going outdoors and going for a walk, especially in the
woods, can be very helpful. Edgar Cayce said that "contact with nature is very important if you want to be in balance and
have a peaceful and harmonious life." 1

29
A green color is thought of as strong, helpful and friendly. It symbolizes learning and self-respect.

Green is also symbolic of money. We even call dollar bills "greenbacks". Green is associated with abundance. People who
are drawn to the color green are often givers.

On a physical level, as with the heart chakra with which green is linked, the meaning of the color green is associated with
the heart, lungs, bronchia and the blood supply.

Green also governs the emotions and it is thought by many alternative health practitioners (including Louise Hay and
Edgar Cayce) that heart problems occur because of unresolved emotional issues. That makes sense to me given the strong
mind body spirit connection in all areas of our lives. Having been emotionally hurt and holding unresolved fears of being
hurt again are issues that may eventually cause heart problems. Balancing the green energy may be one of the ways to
help with these issues.

Edgar Cayce believed that the heart is the center of the soul and that the most important thing we could learn is that "love
is the leading principle of life. When we are together with family and friends we strengthen the heart energy." 1 So spend
time with those you love to help heal your heart. And wear green!

The positive personal attributes associated with the color green are many. They include:

• Sympathy and compassion

• A generous nature
• A loving nature, particularly towards children and animals
• Harmony and balance
• An understanding nature
• Self-control
• Humbleness
And of course, everything has balancing negative aspects too. The negative qualities associated with green are:

• Jealousy
• Recklessness
• A lack of discrimination
• Stinginess and holding tight to your possessions
• Cruelty
• Dishonesty, particularly in terms of money

Green Color in the Chakra System:

As we stated above, the color green is closely associated with the fourth chakra, the heart chakra.

The heart chakra governs love, healing (both physical and emotional), relationships, hope, forgiveness and compassion.
Adding a bit of green color to your life can help in these areas.

When your heart center is in balance we are able to give positive support and feelings of love and happiness to others.

Green Gemstones

Gemstones are a wonderful way to add a bit of the energy from any particular color into your life. You can wear the gem
stone on your body (a small pouch containing one or two gemstones tucked into a bra or in a shirt pocket for example),
place gem stones around your home or in your office.

Gemstones that contain the energy of the color green include: Emerald, Malachite, Jade, Moss Agate, Aventurine and
Peridot.

30
Why green gem stones? Green gemstones are beneficial in your environment if you want to add growth, change or
balance to your life as they are balancing stones. They also promote fertility and are the stones to use if you would like to
attract more money and other forms of prosperity into your life.

Adding The Color Green in Your Life

As with all colors, there are times when adding the color green is a good thing and times when it is not as appropriate.
The difference with green is that it is considered a fairly safe color. If you are not sure what color to use, you probably
won't go too wrong in choosing a green, especially a blue green. The one warning is listed below. Don't use a lot of pure
emerald green if you are unhealthy.

Add Some Green To Your Life:

• When you want to soothe your nerves.

• When you want to calm yourself before an event.
• When you feel a need for growth.
• When you want a feeling of balance and harmony.
• When you have a headache or digestive problems (not a pure strong emerald green. Choose a green with a bit of blue
in it).
• When you want a change.
Do Not Add Green:

• Emerald green has a very strong energy so use it with caution. Only use pure emerald green if you are healthy.
• Do not add a lot of strong green to a room where you need creativity. It is great for a room where more practical work
takes place, but for creativity other colors are better.

Wearing Green

The color green is the color of health and healthy relationships. It is also the color of nature.

Wearing green clothing therefore gives the impression that you are down to earth, stable and balanced. It makes you
seem efficient, positive and harmonious. Green is also the colour of practical sense.

Of course, there is always a ying and a yang, a positive and a balancing negative. If you wear too much green too often, it
can make you appear to be stiff and unimaginative with few original thoughts.

The Meaning of The Color Blue

31
The color blue is the coolest color is the color spectrum. We see it in nature, in the colors of the sky, lakes and oceans. In
ancient Egypt, lapis lazuli, a beautiful blue gemstone, represented heaven.

The meaning of the color blue is peace, calm and spirituality. Blue soothes us, body mind and spirit. It has a calming effect
on the nervous system and is very relaxing, so it is a good color to have in areas where you need peace to prevail.

Blue is also uplifting. It is the color that connects us to our spiritual side and the energy of the universe.

Because a blue color is both calming and spiritual, it is a wonderful color to have in your home to create a peaceful, yet
uplifting environment. It is best in rooms where you want to rest and relax. Blue is a color that works especially well for
babies and young children.

Edgar Cayce saw blue as the color of spirituality and inspiration. The color blue "has always been the color of spirit, the
symbol of contemplation prayer and heaven." 1 It connects us to our higher power, the soul that resides in each of us.

Preference for a light blue color is said to indicate a lack of depth and needing to mature. Dark blue is the color of truth
and of moderation.

Those who have a lot of blue in their aura or who show a strong preference for the color blue will display certain
personality characteristics, both positive and negative.

The positive aspects of the color blue include:

• Loyalty
• Affectionate
• Creativity
• Has the ability to inspire
• Inventiveness
• Peacefulness and relaxation
• Soothing
• Tactful
• Spiritual
• Calm
• Likeable
• Thoughtful towards others
• Passion and enthusiasm tempered with reality
• Introspection
• Conservatism
• Acceptance of Obligations
The negative attributes of the color blue include:

• Ambition
• Snobbishness
• Impatience with the views and ideas of others
• Apathy
• Emotional instability
• Suspicion
• Inflexible in your beliefs
• Using reason to selfish and self-justified ends
• Conservatism (it can be both a positive and a negative)

Blue in the Chakra System:

The color blue is associated with the 5th chakra, most often referred to as the throat chakra.

The throat chakra is the center of communication. Chakra 5 also governs the vocal cords, esophagus, the neck, shoulders

32
and arms, mouth, teeth and cervical vertebrae of the spine.

If this chakra is out of balance you may experience voice problems like laryngitis, sore throats, swollen glands, hearing
problems, jaw and neck issues, thyroid imbalances and ear infections. All of these could use the energy of the color blue.

It is thought that blue colored energy can help us to fight infection.

If you need more blue energy in your life you can decorate with blue (include blue accents in your home or office where
and if you can), keep a blue gemstone (see below) with you or wear blue clothing.

You can also have too much blue energy. How can you tell? If you find yourself unable to get your point across to others,
gossiping or talking too much, you may have an excess of energy from the color blue. You can correct excess blue energy
quite simply by adding some red to your life. Carry a red gemstone or wear some red clothing. Bring red accents into
your home or office. See how that works for you.

Blue Gemstones

There are many blue gemstones that can help to add blue energy to your life. They include sodalite, turquoise,
aquamarine, blue quartz, lapis lazuli, blue lace agate, blue tourmaline, angelite, and blue sapphire. (See the full list at the
end of this article)

Gemstones in the color blue can add a sense of peace. They can be used successfully to calm emotions and to improve
communication. Two gemstones that are particularly good for calming are blue topaz and sapphire.

Blue color gem stones can be very helpful for people who have trouble sleeping or who are having nightmares.

Blue gems often add a sense of inspiration.

If you want to heighten your psychic awareness, carry lapis lazuli.

A turquoise gemstone is said to give you strength, increase your health and offer protection.

Adding The Color Blue in Your Life

Add Some Blue To Your Life:

There are certain situations where you may find it helpful to add some of the color blue to your life. You may want to add
blue to your life:

• To help you communicate better.

• If you have throat issues
• If you are having trouble sleeping
• If you are having health problems with your ears, eyes or nose.
• If you have had a shock or otherwise need to calm yourself down.
• If you have a fever.
• If you want to feel at peace.
• If you want to relax.
• If you feel your energy is blocked and you want to open the energy flow in your body.
• To help you remember exam information or a speech (write it down on blue colored paper).

Wearing Blue

33
Wearing the color blue has a calming effect, both on you and on those around you. In one of his readings Edgar Cayce
stated that people are "never very, very mad with blue being worn...". 1

A dark blue colour gives a feeling of stability and conservatism (think dark blue suit). Wearing the colour blue makes you
appear confident and able to cope with anything. Wearing blue makes you appear interested in change and freedom.

A blue color is associated with communication, so wearing blue helps you to communicate more easily with others. If you
need to make a speech wearing something blue, especially dark blue, may help you speak more easily.

If you have trouble sleeping try wearing blue night clothes. The soothing effect of the color blue may well help you sleep
better.

Because blue is such a cool color, it gives a feeling of distance. You may not want to add blue or wear blue when you need
to show that you are very warm and caring.

The Meaning of an Indigo Color

Indigo color has one of the longest wave lengths in the visible color spectrum.

A mix of blue and violet, we see it in the deep blue of the night sky and in foods like blueberries and concord grapes.

Like the color blue, indigo governs communication, either written or spoken. This color though is more about inward
communication. Personal thoughts and reflections are governed by the indigo color as are insights and deep
understanding.

This color rules the mind, our reasoning ability and the intellect. It represents knowledge, dignity and intuition.

On a physical level the colour indigo controls all of the five senses: the arms, hands, tongue, and vision. It also rules the
intestines and lungs.

The color indigo is associated with the pineal gland, located in the brain. The pineal gland is linked to the nervous system
and mental abilities including our psychic ability.

Edgar Cayce's readings suggest that the pineal gland is the place where patterns start and the seed is implanted. Ideas can
start here. Inventors who have new creations or ideas that come "out of the blue" are using the energy of this dark blue

34
color.

Indigo has an effect on balance and coordination, self-reflection, mental clarity and wisdom. It has a balancing influence
on our frustrations and fears.

The indigo color energy relates to our true understanding of life. When our indigo energy is balanced we are more able to
understand the meaning of our lives and see the need to help others as part of our own spiritual growth.

Suffering from excess indigo color energy in our lives can result in thinking you are above others spiritually or letting
your ego get out of control.

You can also have too little indigo energy and become fearful, oversensitive, undisciplined and a wishful thinker who
never really gets it done.

Edgar Cayce stated that "a preference for indigo would be indicative of high mental abilities, a logical, discerning,
enthusiastic and cheerful nature, and a desire to express creativeness with little thought of one's own ego." 1

Someone who is drawn to the color indigo is "searching for an idealized harmony into which he can blend". This person
would "seek to share a warm intimacy with a sensitive and understanding partner in an esthetic atmosphere of peace and
love." 1

On the contrary, someone who shows a dislike for an indigo color may be overcautious, impetuous and argumentative in
their nature, with a desire to let their ego take over.

The colour indigo is a good color to add to a room where creative work will be done as it inspires our creative energies
through intuition. It is perfect for a room where you like to contemplate quietly or meditate. It is not the best color for a
larger room with multiple functions.

There are both positive and negative personality characteristics associated with each color.

The positive aspects of indigo color include:

• Intuitive
• Logical
• Discernment
• Enthusiasm
• Cheerfulness
• Fearless
• Fulfillment of duty
• Practical Idealism
• Helping
• Comforting nature
• High intellectual faculties
• Strong reasoning Ability
• Power of concentration
• Good memory
Among the negative attributes associated with the color indigo, if it is not in balance, are:

• Fear
• Intolerant
• Impractical
• Judgmental
• Sees only the negative and dark side
• Melancholy
• Cynical

35
• Ruthless
• Over-cautious
• Impetuous
• Argumentative

Indigo in the Chakra System:

The color indigo or very dark blue is associated with the 6th chakra, often called the third eye chakra or brow chakra. The
sixth chakra is located between the eyes in the middle of the forehead.

The brow chakra governs intelligence, intuition, knowledge, inner vision, dignity and psychic power. It is an important
energy center, as it is where you can withdraw into yourself, for peace, quiet and inner knowledge, for example in
meditation or quiet contemplation.

When this 6th or third eye chakra becomes out of balance it shows up in our behavior in things like indecision, jumping to
conclusions and a lack of ability to see the big picture.

Physical symptoms like blurred vision or eye problems, headaches or nightmares may accompany the behavior. If you
experience these it may be advantageous to add an indigo color to your life in some way (and obviously see your health
practitioner if physical symptoms persist).

Indigo Gemstones

Gemstones that are associated with the color indigo include - Azurite, Iolite, Blue Jasper, Blue Topaz, Sapphire, Sodalite,
Blue Obsidian, Blue Tourmaline, Celestite, Charoite, Garnet, Lavender Quartz, Lapis Lazuli, Moldavite, Tanzanite and
Sugilite.

Indigo color gem stones are said to help bridge what we see as a gap between the mind and spirit. It opens the door to our
subconscious and spiritual knowledge.

It may be beneficial to use indigo color gems when you want to increase your intuition, to seek inside yourself for
guidance, to see things from a new and fresh perspective, to help you go into deeper states of meditation or to learn more
about yourself.

Add the essence of the power of indigo and therefore of the brow chakra by carrying an indigo color gemstone such as
iolite or azurite. Wear it tucked into a pocket so it is near your skin.

Adding The Color Indigo in Your Life

If you think that you are out of balance, physically or mentally, in areas that are governed by the color indigo it may be a
good idea to add it to your life. You can carry an indigo color gemstone, wear the color in clothing or bring accents in that
color to a room in your home or office.

Add Some Indigo Color To Your Life:

You may want to add indigo color in your life when:

• You want to develop your intuition.

• You have personal issues you need to focus on.
• You have problems sleeping.
• You want to calm your nerves.
• You have trouble hearing.

36
• You have issues with your skin.
• You want solitude
• You want to focus on inner communication and development
• You want to focus on a problem with a new perspective.
Do Not Add Indigo:

• When you are feeling depressed.

Wearing Indigo

Wearing indigo color in your clothing makes you appear to be individualistic, possibly even to radical. It shows that you
are somewhat unconventional. You show that you are interested in new ideas and in people.

The Meaning of The Color Violet

Violet is the shortest wavelength in the visible color spectrum.

It is the color with the most intense electromagnetic power and is said to be cleansing and purifying.

The color violet is a combination of the colors red and blue. While the color red is a hot, active color, blue is calming and
cooling. Being a combination of these opposite colors, this deep purple color balances the focusing and expansive aspects
of red and blue. It opens up our creativity and imagination and allows the energy of inspiration to flow through us.

Because of this, it is the color associated with art and all artistic pursuits including writing, poetry and music. It is also the
color of healers and psychics. Children tend to love the color purple and of course children have a wonderful sense of
imagination and creativity.

Purple is considered the color of good judgement and of purpose. It is the color of royalty and symbolizes mystery and
the mystical.

From ancient times, the color purple has been considered the color of spirit and our spiritual nature. It is found in the
auras of those who are seeking spiritual fulfillment and is said to help you feel peace of mind. For these reasons, violet is a
good color to have around you when you meditate, whether it be a purple color gemstone such as amethyst or purple
accents in the room where you meditate.

On a physical level, the color violet governs the pituitary gland which the medical profession calls "the master gland" of
the endocrine system. It gives energy to our lymphatic system and is said to help kill bacteria.

37
Edgar Cayce stated that "Heart trouble and stomach trouble are rather common to persons with indigo and violet and
purple in their auras". 1

He also said that is violet is chosen by someone as their favorite color and if that person makes positive choices in life,
he/she would have "a well-rounded personality, good mental abilities with fine reasoning faculties, strength of character
and good judgement" 1 as well as integrity. Negative choices in life would indicate an overbearing nature and self-
centeredness.

Too much purple energy may express itself in a need to escape reality often by going into a fantasy world or by not
accepting things as they are.

Among the positive characteristics associated with the color violet are:

• Mental strength
• Inspirational leadership
• Kindness
• Fairness
• Humanitarianism
• Self-sacrificing
• Idealistic
• Ability to observe things which go unnoticed by others
• Introspective
• Sensitive
• Extremely creative
• Tactful
• Warm
• Demanding total honesty from others
The negative aspects of a dark purple color include:

• Feeling superior
• Arrogance
• Snobbishness
• Disloyalty
• Interest in black magic
• Tempermental
• Indecision
• Inconsistency
• Aloofness
• Vanity
• Overly trusting
• Overbearing
• Escape into fantasy

Violet in the Chakra System:

The color violet is associated with the 7th chakra or crown chakra.

The crown chakra links the individual to the universal sources of energy; body/mind to spirit and the spiritual.

Although the crown chakra governs the brain, hormone and nervous systems, it is also about connecting us to our
spiritual side.

It is said that most people do not understand how to use the energy of the crown chakra, but if we learn how to use our
intuition, we find that this chakra helps us to connect to the divine and the spirits and angels who are with us and are
here to help us. For this reason, those who are on a spiritual path often benefit from the color violet in their lives.

38
Violet Gemstones

Gemstones in the color purple include: Amethyst, Fluorite, Purpurite, Sugilite, Charoite and Lepidolite

Purple color gemstones bring with them the aspects that are associated with this color, so they are good to use if you want
to increase your imagination and creativity. They can bring inspiration.

Gem stones in a purple color are good to have in an area where you meditate as they help you connect with your higher
self and your spiritual nature. They are also helpful in increasing psychic awareness.

Purple color gemstones are symbolic of purification so are good to use in areas where you feel you need the energy
cleansed.

Adding The Color Violet in Your Life

There are times and places where adding a particular color to your environment is beneficial and times when it will not
work well for you. This can be in the form of the clothing you wear, gemstones that you carry with you or have around
you, or the decor of your home or other spaces you occupy such as your work place.

For example, if you want to help develop your children's creativity and imagination, purple is a good color to paint or
otherwise use in a play area. For this same reason, it is a good color to incorporate into school class rooms and libraries.

Because violet is a color of the spirit and imagination, it is not a good color to use in a room where you entertain others. It
can cause people to stop talking and be more in their minds. There are some who say it also causes cravings for alcohol.

Add Some Violet Your Life:

It may be beneficial to add the color purple to your life:

• When you want to rebalance yourself and your life.
• When you want to remove obstacles in your path.
• When you want to enhance your creativity and use your imagination effectively.
• To strengthen your spiritual values.
• To calm yourself.
• To re-energize yourself if you have been depressed.
• If you have emotional issues to work on.
Do Not Add Violet:

• If you are depressed or feel very out of balance. (Peaceful green would be a better color in this instance)
• While you are meditating, if you are just beginning to meditate.

Wearing Violet

Wearing the a purple color implies both an unconventional nature and someone who is an idealist.

Purple is a color that indicates mystery, fantasy and imagination. It portrays you as a unique thinker, possibly a lonely
thinker. Wear purple to encourage mystery, spirituality and imagination.

39
Planet: Jupiter

Gland associated with the color Violet: Pituitary

The Color Pink

The color pink is a combination of the primary color red with white.

A pink color is considered much more calming than red, but the level of calmness depends on the amount of red in the
pink tone. Softer pinks are considered calmer, containing more feminine and young energy.

Pink is the color of universal love and of romance. It evokes feelings of tenderness and caring. It is also symbolic of
happiness and contentment, as in "tickled pink".

The meaning of the color pink tends towards more gentle emotions than fiery red. It is the color of calm, of acceptance
and relaxation. Pink is also the color of self worth.

Pink is associated with the heart chakra (the 4th chakra) and is therefore considered a color of life and of good health.
Hence the common phrase "in the pink" meaning healthy.

Pink gemstones like rose quartz can positively affect the heart and circulatory system. Rose quartz is also said to help
with fertility, sexual dysfunction and depression.

There are many color variations of pink. All of the following colors are considered shades of pink: salmon, raspberry,
fuchsia, flesh, coral, blush, rose, magenta and flush.

The deeper shades of this color have been found to neutralize aggressive behavior. For this reason, some prisons have
painted some areas these deeper pink tones.

Pink can have a negative connotation as well. "Pink collar" jobs are considered to be those that are usually only filled by
women. They tend to pay less than similarly skilled jobs filled by men.

The phrase "pink slip" is used to mean the form letter you get to notify you that your employment is being terminated.

Pink in the Chakra System:

The color pink is a secondary color (the other color being green) associated with the fourth chakra, which is the heart
chakra. Pink represents the loving heart energy.

If you are agitated or annoyed by someone, or if you see very negative behavior exhibited by others, try "pinking" them,
by imagining that person (or group of people) surrounded by a pure very pale pink light. It will help them become
calmer.

You can also surround yourself with the calming energy of clear, pale pink light. It is a wonderful thing to do if you are
feeling rushed or stressed in any way.

40
Pink Gemstones

Pink gemstones include rose quartz (or pink quartz), pink sapphire, chalcedony, rhodonite, pink tourmaline, pink calcite,
rhodochrosite, petalite, pink halite and danburite.

Pink gemstones are wonderful to place in both your home or office environments. A pink gem stone, such as a piece of
rose quartz, placed in a room encourages the feelings of love, calmness and peace to reside there. It is a great stone to
place on or in your desk at work to encourage co-workers to work together calmly. At home pink quartz or any other
pink gemstone is a wonderful addition to just about any room, with the possible exception of a workout room where you
want more active energy.

Adding The Color Pink in Your Life

Each color creates its own ambiance and adds its own feeling to the surroundings. Pink is a very soothing and calming
color, so keep that in mind when you decide where you may want to add it to your home or office.

Pink is not a high energy color, so may not be the best color for gyms, work out rooms or other places where you want the
energy to be very high.

Add Some Pink Your Life:

• When you want to feel calm

• When you want to relax
• When you want to feel content
• When things seem too hectic
Do Not Add Pink:

• When you need a boost of energy

• When you need a pick-me-up.

Wearing Pink

In our Western culture, the color pink is considered a feminine color, so it is a good color for women to wear when they
want to appear softer and more feminine.

For men, pink would be a color to wear when you want to stand out, as it is a more unusual color for men.

For both men and women alike, wearing pink means that you are presenting yourself as non-threatening. It presents you
as both calm and peaceful.
