KASAPI was organized on January 3, 2007 by the current President and CEO at Talavera,
Nueva Ecija making up to his dream to be of service to the community.
Back from January 3, 2007, an office was set up at his home at Fernando’s Residence in
Barangay Esguerra, Talavera, Nueva Ecija with only three (3) employees. They have creates
Pangkabuhayan Group Loan Program which caters for group clients and Pangkabuhayan
Individual Loan Program which provides products and services for Individual borrowers. They
started their first set of release for eight (8) clients who were also their neighbor at the same
barangay, with Five Thousand Pesos (Php5,000.00) loan approved amount each client.
From their first release, they started to market their neighboring barangays by gathering some
potential micro entrepreneurs and introduce the loan program which they can take advantage of.
It was an abrupt success in 2008 so they moved to a new office location at the central business
district area of Talavera, Nueva Ecija at Marcos District, having only seven (7) employees. On
the same year, November 19, they have registered the business under the business name
KASAPI-Kaagapay sa Pangkabuhayan Lending Inc., a private institution which operates for
group and individual lending.
On August 11, 2009, Mr. Fernando decided to create another entity which would focus on
providing goods and services for group lending. He registered it as a non-stock/Non-profit
institution which would participate on the poverty alleviation of the country under the name
KASAPI Microfinance & Rural Development, Inc. (KMRDI)
KASAPI diversified its products and services to its valued clients. KASAPI Lending Inc has
introduced to market the Agricultural Loan and the Salary Loan as another loan window, which
clients can avail. Since bulk of the loan releases are Agricultural Loan and MALP, and some
KASAPI Agri-clients are fronted by such problems as drying facilities and their products are
being purchased by some traders and agents at a low price. KASAPI enterprises were established
to focus on delivering services related to agricultural products specifically for palay production.
This is the answer of the KASAPI to protect their clients among derisive traders and agents who
are taking advantage of our small farmers for their personal gain. KASAPI Enterprises then put a
drying facility which offers services that are for minimal cost only and accepts loan payment for
MALP and Agricultural Loan in kind if clients’ products are not sold on time to meet its maturity
ate at a higher rate on the prevailing palay market rate.
The Institution has partnered with other companies paving its way to be recognized by most of
the micro entrepreneurs in the areas of Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, Pampanga, Tarlac, Pangasinan, La
Union and Isabela, Cagayan, Nueva Vizcaya and NCR. Hence, KASAPI is continuously moving
forward to outreach the uncatered areas and actively participate into a sustainable livelihood.
