ABSTRACT
This project deals with face detection
for an attendance recorder system for
the purpose of maintaining attendance
details of the students. Students faces are
pre stored in class databases. camera
captures the student face and compared
to database image if it is unmatched
means that student is unauthorised to
particular class room. And based on
Biometric identification attendance will
marked for every particular time period.
With the development of
modern education,
considering the shortcoming
of conventional attendance OBJECTIVE
system, a new projection of
face recognition based
attendance monitoring is
proposed.
LITERATURE SURVEY
TITLE: A Web Enabled Secured System for Attendance
Monitoring and Real Time Location Tracking Using
Biometric and Radio Frequency Identification (RFID)
Technology
AUTHORS: Srinidhi MB, Romil Roy
METHODOLOGY: The system can also detect the current
location of the students, faculties, and other staff
members anywhere within the domain of institution
campus. With the help of android application one can
receive live feeds of various campus activities, keep
updated with the current topics in his/her enrolled
courses as well as track his/her friends on a real time
basis. There is a functionality of automatic attendance
performance graph in the system, which gives an idea of
the student’s consistency in attendance throughout the
semester
TITLE: Wireless Fingerprint Attendance
Management System
AUTHORS: Maddu Kamaraju, Penta Anil Kumar
METHODOLOGY: At the attendance time when
employees impress their fingerprints, against the
scanner, the system compares the new
fingerprint patterns and the connection between
various points in the fingerprint with the
enrollment database. A match is recorded as a
knock exercising acquisition, processing,
transmission, matching. Through this automatic
system, time and manpower is reduced to the
great extent.

TITLE: Design and Development of Portable Classroom
Attendance System Based on Arduino and Fingerprint
Biometric
AUTHORS: Nur Izzati Zainal , Khairul Azami Sidek , Teddy
Surya Gunawan , Hasmah Mansor , and Mira Kartiwi
METHODOLOGY:
This paper introduces a portable fingerprint based
biometric attendance system which addresses the
weaknesses of the existing paper based attendance
method or long time queuing. In addition, our biometric
fingerprint based system is encrypted which preserves
data integrity. In addition, our biometric fingerprint based
system is encrypted which preserves data integrity. In
higher learning institutions such as universities,
attendance is made compulsory for every student in
order for them to understand the subject matter taught
in class. With the existence of the fingerprint scanner, it
has been made easy for educators such as lecturers to
record student attendance
TITLE: Multimodal Biometrics-based Student Attendance
Measurement in Learning Management Systems
AUTHORS: Elisardo González Agulla, Enrique Argones
Rúa, José Luis Alba Castro .
METHODOLOGY:
In this paper we present a solution to obtain useful and
Reliable user logs in a Learning Management System
(LMS). Current LMS logs are combined with biometric-
based logs that show the student behavior. Our system
models the student behavior, allowing knowing exactly
how much time the student spends in front of the
computer examining the contents of the LMS. Fingerprint
or speaker verification is performed on demand, with the
aim of avoiding a negative influence of adverse
environmental or behavioral human factors in the
reliability of the user logs generated by the system. These
circumstances can thwart the non-collaborative face
verification performance involved in the tracking process.
TITLE: Design and Implementation of Iris Recognition
Based Attendance Management System
AUTHORS: Amena Khatun, A. K. M. Fazlul Haque, Sabbir
Ahmed, Mohammad Mahfujur Rahman.
METHODOLOGY:
The aim of this paper is to design and implement an iris
recognition based attendance management system with
the latest facilities at an accessible price to think about
the financial situation of the large figure of developing
countries. The paper includes two parts, hardware and
software. The iris is a circular diaphragm that punctured
because of the pupil and lies between cornea and lens.
How much light can enter through the pupil, a circular
aperture area is controlled by the iris. The pupil size can
vary from 10% to 80% of the iris diameter where the
diameter is approximately 12mm
The traditional manual
attendance marking is followed in
almost all the educational
instituition which is time
consuming and it is inefficient
EXISTING method. The manual process
SYSTEM involves a lot of paper work which
is hard to maintain and in certain
instituition attendance is
monitored by Radio Frequency
Identification Card. For registering
attendance students need to
show his personal Radio
Frequency Identification Card

PROPOSED SYSTEM
In our proposed system we are going to use face
recognition technique for attendance monitoring
by means of segmentation, processing,
compression, object detection, image
restortation, image enhancement, image
acquisition techniques. The image of the
students in the class are pre captured and stored
in the database. Whenever the attendance is to
be marked one should open the laptop and
capture the image during required time period.
The newly captured image is then compared
with the image in the database and if all the
faces matches attendance will be marked in the
database and mail will be sent to the faculties
M DATABASE FEEDING MODULE:
The images of the students in the class are pre captured
O
and it is stored in the database along with their details
D
In this module whenever the attendance is needed to
be marked the system is switched on and the image is
captured which is then detected
U
COMPARING FETCHED
PARAMETER WITH STORED
L
PARAMETER MODULE:
The detected image after undergoing all the process is
compared with the image which is priorly stored in the
E
database.
ATTENDANCE UPDATE
S
MODULE:
If the images matches with the one in the database the
attendance will be marked as present else absent.
