On a scale of 1-10 (1 being the lowest and 10 being the highest),
how will you rate yourself on the following:
a. on effort and motivation –I will rate myself high
b. on time spent reading the cases – I will rate myself
(5/moderate) as a law student and at the same time a mother of three children, I have to divide my time and when I am at home most of it is spent to my children.
c. on time spent digesting the cases – I will rate myself
(5/Moderate) reading the case already entails a lot of time much more on having it digested wherein you still have to choose on the important facts and determine the issue and main ruling of the case.
d. on determining the legal dispute – I will rate myself
(5/moderate) my pre-law study as a nurse has given me a difficult and bare hand idea on legal dispute of case. It seems that my pre-law does not really fits on the idea of taking law studies but then I am taking the challenge.
e. on determining the relevant facts – I will rate myself
(5/moderate) still on the same reason that my pre-law studies did not gave me any idea on laws and other matters relevant to the study of law.
f. on determining resulting legal rules – I will rate myself
(5/moderate) In determining resulting rules it is highly important that one may be able to determine the issues in the case because the issue will lead to the determination whether the resulting legal rules has resolved it or not. g. on performance during recitations (if called) – I will rate myself (8/high) my preparation reading cases would lead me tobe prepared also during oral recitations and I would do my best to interact with the class as basis for further discussion on relevant laws.
h. over-all quality/goodness of case digests – I am rating myself
(5/moderate) quality time reading would result to quality case digest and readiness in times of class discussion.
What are your areas of strength?
As a businesswoman I would say that my areas of strength
is my ability to handle my business and manage my workers in order to be productive. Human Resource Management perhaps is one of my areas of strength.
What are your areas of improvement and how do you intend to
improve in those areas?
I think I need to improve my study habit and time
management. I have to set my priorities so that I could also be able to divide my time on areas of concerns that I am habitually doing.
Was this activity or lesson on Making a Good Case Digest helpful?
How? What did you learn?
Having a good case digest would enable one to determine
also the relevant laws discussed in the case digested. I learned that the jurisprudence is important as part of the topics discussed as it was already applied by the highest court of the land, no less than the Supreme Court of the Philippines. 5. Are you looking forward to making more case digests? Why or why not?
Yes, I am looking forward for more case digest as it will
hasten my reading ability, comprehension and ability to determine the laws applied in that particular case.
6. Other reflections, realizations, comments, if any.
As a law student, it is not easy to manage my time
especially I have children and I manage our family business but I am highly motivated to learn and develop any of my individual aspects.
