QUEZADA

DAY 1 – OCTOBER 29, 2018

In every undertaking, there must be something that you must
learned and reflected.
On the first day of the In Service Training, the things that struck
me the most are the ABCD of giving positive discipline to our students.
Most of the time, I always notice the wrongdoings of my pupils, instead
of seeing the good things they do every single day.
As a teacher, I realized that whoever, and whatever our pupil(s) is
/are, we should accept them. In that way, they can establish to
themselves that we as their teachers love them, and we show them our
care.
We must believe to their capabilities, believe that there is a bright
future ahead of them. We must instill in their minds and hearts that there
are people who believes in them so that they will boost their self-
confidence and learn how to believe in themselves.
We should not always look after the unnecessary things that they
do, but instead, make those things as challenge for us on how we can
make those negative things turn into positive one. Always look at the
positive side of the things because those will give positive feedback.

DAY 2 – OCTOBER 30, 2018

What has been transpired on this day activity/training is about the
techniques for better classroom control.
I am the type of teacher who usually uses loud voice, and I feel
that it isn’t ineffective and I am not good at classroom management.
Upon listening to Dr. Tio-an’s lecture about classroom
management, I have realized that there are much better ways to manage
the class more effectively than the strategy I usually employ. I have
learned that using loud voice, may not be effective as I know. Using soft
but clear voice is much better because pupils will tend to listen to what I
am saying. I have also learned that proper orientation and practice of
student’s discipline I will impose is also needed while building respect at
the same time.

DAY 3 – OCTOBER 31, 2018

As we end this three-day training, what has been reflected and
what I have learned today is the essence of CHANGE.
As teachers, we should learn how to cope and adapt to changes
because knowing how to cope with it is a sign that we give a room for
improvement and development.
As agents of change, we should also know how to take risk.
Planning for certain goals is important. If the plan fails, work on another
plan until we reach our target.
Aside from the essence of change, I have also learned the 24 things
that teachers should live by. I have realized so many things in this talk,
the ways on how the teacher could build a strong, positive relationship
and camaraderie with pupils, parents, stakeholders and most especially
to our colleagues and heads. In that way, we will live and work together
in harmony.
Thanks to all the learnings 
Win and Radiate Excellent Service More Power!
DAY 1 OCTOBER 29, 2018

My reflection on this day 1 in-set training, I have learn to achieve the success of

our school, we should start first from our very own respective classroom. We should

set specific classroom rules which must be followed by everyone and the teachers

should serve as a good example to their pupils and parents/stake holders so that we

could gain their respect.

In dealing with our difficult or misbehaving pupils regarding on their negative

actions, we should divert it from negative to positive way of approaching or

disciplining them and make them believed that they are capable of doing good

because they are important and special.

I’ve also learned that we must have unity, cooperation and develop harmonious

relationship while working together for common goal.

DAY 2 OCTOBER 30, 2018

Reflection:
On this 2nd day of training, during the demonstration of Sir Magno Honorio, I

also tried to solve some problem solving and found it very difficult then later realized

that I should not only stick on one side of learning but also expand my knowledge.

About the differentiated instruction, I should provide different activities based

on their level of intellectual capabilities and interest.

Classroom management, for me it would be effective if the classroom is

conducive for learning , well ventilated, proper classroom size and materials are well

provided based on what is really needed inside the classroom particularly pupils

activities and decorating the classroom.

DAY 3 OCTOBER 31, 2018

Reflection:

Thank God that now is the last day of our inset training! Hope that everything

I’ve learned must be put into practice. Because, the purpose of this training is not just

to comply but for teacher’s development and school improvement for the sake our

pupils learning. For me the keys are discipline and respect from teachers, pupils and

parents. Because I believed that valuable resource that all teachers have is each other,

without collaboration out growth is limited to our own perspective.

REFLECTION #1

Thank you Papa G. for allowing me to attend on today In-Service

Training. I have learned a lot on today’s talk, with our very jolly speaker

Mr. Dannes Serrano, his topic is “Dealing with Difficult Students and Positive

Discipline”. He gave the ABCD to help us to overcome all the problems and

negativity toward in our work and in our personal lives too, A- is for

acceptance, B- believe in better future, C- catch people doing right and

D- discipline.

He shared a lot of his personal story for us to be able to realize the

importance of being positive in our life, and in the future of our students.

REFLECTION #2

Thank you again Papa G. for another day of opportunity of learning.

Our first speaker Mrs. Parajele topic was “Differentiated Instruction”. She
enumerated effective instructional strategies, and asked us to arrange it
from least effective to most effective. The activity helps me to realize the
importance of knowing what kind of strategies suits or effective in the level
of our students.

Second speaker was our dear principal Dr. Julia I. Tio-an, her topic
was “Important of Classroom Management”. She points out that one
discipline was not be suited in all our pupils, and there a lot of reasons.
Individual differences is number one, because every child/person is unique
individual. She also enumerated techniques for better classroom control
that will help us teacher to have well organize, child-friendly and positive
learning environment.

REFLECTION #3
Thank you Papa G., for another day and for allowing me to complete
the three day INSET seminar. Today seminar highlighted three topics. Our
first speaker was our Master Teacher Mr. Gerry Sabangan, his topic was
“Rules That Teacher Should Live By”. He enumerated 24 rules should
teacher like me to live by. And for me those rules were very useful to our
life as a teacher, so that I can have an ideals to follow to.

Our second speaker was Mrs. Rafael, our very approachable school
guidance counselor. Her topic was “Test Construction”. She discussed the
importance on how to make a good test questions, it should be valid,
reliable and useable etc.

The third topic was “Financial Literacy”, headed by Mr. Ronald

Mercado from City Savings Bank”. The training discussed the practical
utilization of funds through the modernized saving formula. I’ve learned to
value the importance of managing my finances to ensure financial security
and stability.

I just hope and pray that all the learnings, sharing that we had from
this three day INSET seminar will be useful to me and to all the participants.
PRECIOUS C. DENOSTA

October 29, 2018

I learned much from this seminar most especially from our speaker Mr. Serrno.
Think positive in order to have positive results. We teachers as molder of the
youth. Teacher should be the model of his/her pupil’s example values, norms, good
deeds and acceptance.
Good teacher has best a

October 30, 2018

Education is a continuous process. We teachers must use varied strategies/

instructions for the good output of our pupil. It should be learners-centered and
developed concept according to their interest, attitudes, skills, needs and way of
thinking. Encourage pupils to participate, then activities should be flexible so that
learning will be effective.
Classroom must be conducive for learning that is “classroom management”.
Being a teacher we should facilitate learning activity and positively.
“Digital addiction” nowadays is true and very trending for millennials. Teachers
had a great part in imparting knowledge of the good and bad effect of gadgets in their
young minds.

October 31, 2018

Thank God, for the informative 3- day school based-inset. A good teacher is a good
follower. I learned a lot that the school ruler should be followed every now and then. We
teachers as facilitator of learning always do and believe to be the best of our pupils and
co- workers as well as our school. As saying says, “teaching is a journey that provide
information to learn”.
In other matters, we should save and save for our future. I will go for change.
More power “MAAM TIO-AN” and the WRES teachers and staffs.
EMMA LYN T. ESPIÑO

DAY 1

I am thankful for today's lectures. I am able to understand more clearly of

what to do and what to put on our IPCRF. It was explained well. I feel overwhelmed

knowing that there are more projects/programs awaits for the progress of our

school.

With the topic "Dealing with Difficult Students and Positive Discipline" I've

learned that we should embrace good things from everything even if it comes from

negativities. We should learn to accept things in a positive way and bring out the

best of our pupils.

DAY 2
Today' s topics are a big help for me as a teacher. I am lucky to hear many

things to do about managing classroom and pupil's behavior. "Differentiated

Classroom" give me an idea that in teaching it is not me who matters most but

rather the pupils around me. I should be more sensitive of what lessons and

materials to prepare for them to grasp information/ideas so that there will be

learning to them. Although the "Traditional Classroom" is still useful in our

classroom setting today, we should also be open about adapting changes for the

better future of our learners.

"Classroom Management" is one of the weapons we need to impart

learnings to our pupils. We should create a positive environment so that the

teacher and the learners will have a good rapport. Thank you for enlightening us.

DAY 3

Thank you for the learnings imparted during the 3-day INSET. I'm happy and

determined to make change and difference for the betterment of the school and

other stakeholders.

During the discussion of the topics, I've learned that positivities in life where

being emphasized. As a teacher I should think of the goodness for my pupils. But to

achieve this, I should be more patience and welcoming to my peers, parents and

the people surrounding me. I should also boost my confidence rather than

entertaining the doubts/what ifs because it triggers me on achieving the best I

everything that I do. I should believe and trust myself in decision-making and be

open on asking guidance from others.

FLORA MAE A. QUIÑONES

DAY 1

Today I’ve learned how to be more positive in any way possible.

That I should look for the positive way in every negative attitudes or
behaviours we experienced or may encounter.

The positive ways that the speaker shared today enlightened me

to be more creative in finding the right words or actions that should I do in
disciplining my students and also dealing with the people around me
especially my co- teachers.

In addition to that, I should be more approachable with my other

pupils especially to the ones that not as behave as others or not as smart as
other pupils. I should accept them then use the other ways to encourage them
to do better for their better future.

Day 2

Today I’ve learned the proper process of conducting the pre-

observation and post observation, what should I prepare and the strategies
should be used for effective learning.

Another thing is the traditional and differentiated instructions

which enhance my knowledge in conducting the teaching and learning process
and we should always remember that the activities should be learner centred.
In addition is the classroom management that I or We should
remember that no one is alike so that I should apply different ways or
strategies to handle my pupils, also I should apply different techniques or
styles in disciplining them from time to time.

The most important thing I have learned today is having a good

relationship to our pupils so that everyone is involved and no one should be
left behind.

Day 3

I’ve learned a lot in our last day of in-set. The first topic refreshes
my mind of being a good teacher. That, I must always remember the 24 rules
that a teacher should live by.

Another thing is the test construction. I’ve learned the proper

steps in constructing a test. I should have in mind that before constructing the
test I should have the mastery of the lesson and congruency should observed.
Analysing the low level test that it might hard and high level of the test may be
easy for students. In different types of test order of test questions for easy
understanding of the students and step by step difficulty of test must follow.
Never use fill in the blanks. Analyse first the constructions of test questions.
Things to avoid are humorous items to let the students take the exam seriously
and when the teacher use the negative term such as NOT and the teacher
should underlined or bold it for emphasis.

THEME: Win and Radiate Excellent Service

Today’s In Service Training Topics is a very good start for this coming semester.
Accomplishing the Portfolio of the RPMS is such an exciting part for me. For long years,
that I wasn’t in the service, knowing all the things that I need to accomplish this year is
again a reflection on how responsible effective, and how great I am as a teacher. With
regards to the topic discussed by Mr. Dannes Serano , I’m still a n a state of deep thinking
on how to manage my class. The good ABCD’s was given and I realized that I still need
the big heart for these for my student’s future. Some of the good points of the ABCD’s, I
could say that I’m doing it but not that consistent. Look forward to more trainings that
includes or discusses or personal development and be best teacher for this year through
performance and of course my relationship to my colleagues.

October 30,2018

THEME: Win and Radiate Excellent Service

An excellent workshop - very upbeat and held the attention of all teachers all
throughout. I personally learned a lot, even though I’ve been in the industry for some time.
The whole team learned some very useful tools for the future that can be used in both
school and life to increase this success. Topics are practical, real, fun, focused and gave
us the opportunity to really think about and apply the skills learned. Really opened my
eyes to the little things we can do every day to make a big difference to both teachers
and students.
JOAN R. SIKAT
REFLECTION
Day 1
October 29, 2018

There is a quotation that states “Train up a child in the way he should go, and
when he is old, he will not depart from it”. As the speaker, Mr. Dannes Nestor Daniel Serrano
talked about positivity on the children’s behavior or attitude or how we call it, my thought was
working on how we bring a particular problem child into our positive perspective to make them
a better person.
For me, what he shared was perfect for today’s kind of generation. Teachers have
always been trying to find ways on this problem and I like his discussion about untying the knot
because I am a hundred percent advocate that children have their own uniqueness. They need
to be accepted to be able for them to believe on themselves, that we always need to focus on
rewarding goodness than looking for mistakes for punishment.
As a teacher, we have to show empathy and respect. I have been contemplating
about what he has said and I’ve come up believing that if we just try to give them the chance and
train them, soon they would be able to love it and never depart from that learnings. Through this,
I know and I believe that we can create the best person in them because they are God’s children
and that is what they deserve.

Day 2
October 30, 2018

Today’s training has been a productive one. Aside from the topics shared by the
speakers, what caught my attention most was the video presented in the food for thought. My
mind was focused on the four words that sometimes becomes a hindrance to success.
These four words create the question, what will people say? According to the
video, these four words limit ourselves to give our full potential. We become hesitant to continue
our good intention every time we think what other people would say. These always bothers us
and gives lots of worries. We refrain from doing things because of fears. Hesitation, worries and
fear are the products of these words.
As a teacher, it is important to show everything we’ve got to showcase our full
potential. These must not affect our increasing potential and talents especially in nurturing the
learners. We should keep going no matter what others would say most especially if we know that
what we are doing is for the betterment of our fellow being. Whatever negative or positive
comment we receive, always be prepared! We have to be tough in facing the world. Fight fears
if you think it can help you become a better person. Stop negativity and don’t think what other
people would say. Just chill and we should keep going on the track of POSITIVITY.

Day 3
October 31, 2018

The most important learning I had this day was the topic discussed by Sir Gerry
Sabangan, one of the school’s Master Teacher about the rules that teachers should live by. There
were items in which I failed to answer correctly by being honest in what I feel. Every time we
discussed each item, there was realization in me which I regret of doing so.
As I contemplate on this topic. I have come to realize that I should do better.
Though I know that I am already practicing it, never did I notice that what I am doing is not
enough.
This topic serves as a reminder to me. This would always remind me of what and
how to do better not only as a teacher, but also a human, to be able to bring out the best in me.
Thanks to the speaker for choosing a meaningful and abundant topic for this day.
More power WRES!
ROMMEL D. BORRE

REFLECTION

(Day 1)

What I’ve learned today is on “How Teachers Deal with Difficult Students

and Positive Discipline.” From now on I will focus on the good things I see on my

pupils, love, patience and let them feel a sense of belongingness towards his/ her

superior and classmates. Be kind and get to know the individual. Be fair and give

them a new chance every day. Talk to them about their behavior privately. Give them

the same time and accept your students for who they are.

(Day 2)

Teaching is a journey that will provide many opportunities to learn. As

teachers we should strive to improve our teaching career. The activity given by sir

Sabangan focuses on the welfare of the pupils. It is important for the teachers to

establish meaningful cooperative relationships because building strong

relationships with your students, peers and parents will make your job easier. One
important thing is, you have to listen to others opinion including your students and

take their feedback into account and always willing to adapt the change.

Test Construction is not easy thing to do but we need to engage ourselves in

making test because it is our duty as teacher. The purpose of it is to motivate our

students to learn to serve as a guide for further study and to provide a learning

experience for students.

REFLECTION

(Day 3)

As teachers we have to distinguish the multiple intelligences of our pupils by

that we can apply now the differentiated instruction for these multiple intelligences

do pupils have. I think they are co-related with one another (helping hand in hand).

Focus on the learners capabilities. Teacher will prepare activities for the basic,

regular and fast learners.

Why classroom management important? To help students to grow, manage

their own behavior. On the very first day of classes we should impose classroom

rules. Come to class prepared. Provide varied instructional materials so that pupils

will arouse the curiosity in learning the lesson.

Kristine Mae B. Dreu

October 29, 2018

The speaker was Mr. Dannes Nestor Daniel Serrano. According to him
the true meaning of “discipline” was teaching not punishment. For
me that word should be instilled first by our parents. I remember when
I was young, my mom and dad always said… those rules or orders
should be obeyed if not there were equaled association of
punishment based in your misconduct.
In untying the knot there were several ways that Mr. Danes stated for
him the first was acceptance, next was believe, then catch the
goodness and the last one discipline. In our everyday life we cannot
simple avoid circumstances that can ruin our mood and our mind
setting just because of that person or people. Most of the time I
ignored their wrong doings because I didn’t want to stay angry for too
long. But I learned something discipline was not just simply correcting
mistakes; showing who was better or right. It was done because you
“care”.
October 30, 2018

There are 7 instructional strategies: lecture, reading, audio visual,

demonstration, discussion, practice by doing and teach others.
In traditional teaching it focuses on teacher however, the
differentiated teaching it focuses on learners. As of today we mostly
used the differentiated teaching.
Students have different variety of ways on how they learn so the
teacher should focuses on the following: prior educational
experiences, learning styles, personal experiences, interests,
motivators and reading levels.
Classroom management means effective discipline, being prepared
for class, motivating your students, providing a safe, comfortable
learning environment, being creative and imaginative in daily lessons.

October 31, 2018

My reflection for this day, being a teacher was not simply creating
lesson plans and teaching in the four corner of the room. He/ she has
a lot of rules to follow that bind us just like a chain that connect each
and every one of us.
HEDWIG H. ARCILLA
REFLECTION
DAY 1

The topics that discussed today are interested and very refreshing to my mind
especially the topic discussed by our invited guest, Mr. Danes Serrano. All the
things he said was really a realization that needs application. It really easy to
listen but surely hard to find actions.

As I listen to him. I know that his topic is not really knew. It has a similarity with
our past lecture about anti-oppression in the 21st century. They both incorporate
and emphasized positive discipline to our 21st pupils. The lecture emphasized
how we should enthusiastic to assent and provide positive discipline to our
pupils. For me, it is really given but very hard to incorporate with our children
especially with pupils with difficulties or problems. .Disciplining pupils especially
nowadays really gave me an immense responsibility. Punishment, giving extra
tasks, shouting them are forbidden.

As I learned today I need to embrace the things needed to impart positive

discipline to our pupils. Learn to Accept, Believe in the better future, catch
people doing right and discipline with empathy and respect.

Catch people doing right truly gave me an anxious thought especially I have 1 of
my pupils that really gave me a hard time. Every time when I was not around
and come back at 12:20 p.m. his and her classmates prepared stories to tell
about him. My responses was, sometimes,” I just ignore the scenario” or it really
caused stress.

My challenge is, to try, to really, really try to motivate, make a difference to

others, and to accept him, believe him, catch him doing right and discipline him
in a positive way. Thinking and believing that someday he will be a better man.
Better man with the help of her grade five adviser. I know that I can to it with
the help of our Almighty God, my family and guidance of people surrounded me.

Day 2
Today’s topic is really essential and productive to us teachers. Test
construction is not new to us but it is serve as a refreshment course. It is a
recall in making test.
As a challenge I will construct my summative test in eliciting the high order
thinking skills.

Day 3
As s teacher different topics discussed is not new to us but it is a recall for us to
motivate us more, to strive more and to enhance us. All the learning that we
get, our children will benefits more. As a teacher I will challenge myself to learn
more,to strive more for our children. For the future of our children.
MELVIN REAÑO
Day 1 INSET

REFLECTION

There are many things to be learned and reflected on the first day of our INSET.
As one of the facilitators of learning, two topics have captured my mind. First is
innovation that we must do as a teacher in particular with the RPMS, making daily
lesson logs and teachers’ pedagogy. Knowing these can really uplift my
performance and skill as educator. Second is the positive reinforcement in
managing the behaviour of our learners. Based on the discussant, he intensified
the value/worth of being optimistic all the time. To be positive is to accept your
student and believe that there are many positive things behind their behaviour.
Inflicting pain through discipline won’t change who they are and what we want
them to be. We must educate our learners in a positive way so that we can reflect
and say to ourselves that we have touched their lives.

Day 2 INSET

REFLECTION

Three thoughts have transpired on me for today’s training. First is innovation, I

have learned new methods/ strategies which was shown by Mr. Honorio. I was
amazed with the way the utilized technology and its integration make his topic
more interesting to his learners. The modern methods of teaching facilitated by
the Demonstration Teacher is a perfect example of making innovations in the
teachers’ pedagogy.
Second is consideration, the topic discussed by Mrs. Paragele with regard to the
use of Differentiated Instruction reminded me about the importance of accepting
and considering that not all learners are the same. The principle of learners’
diversity which was defined by Howard Gardner shows the concept of Multiple
Intelligence. If we are only aligned with his principle, we can accept the fact that
all learners have diverse needs. Hence we must think and facilitate a variety of
teaching styles, approaches, methods and even instructional materials that will
cater to the diversity of each learners.

Third is management, actually on my perspective nobody is perfect when it comes

to management. As educator we should make it perfect especially in managing
our learners, behaviour for we are the drivers of facts and the moderator of skills.
Adhering with the principle of classroom management can make our lesson
objectives attainable and managing all students aspects would be perfect.

Day 3 INSET

REFLECTION

The topic which only reflected on me is the thought for the day which was
presented by Mrs. Arcilla. This thought really aroused each participants’ mind to
share different views of change. The most significant thought for me based on
their collaboration about change is that change is a perennial or inevitable force
that nobody can stop. Actually I affirmed this thought because even me I always
change and adapt myself to the changes that happened in my environment. I
always change for good for I believe it is a must and it will help me to
continuously move forward to success and excellence.
DANICA MAE S. REAÑO
Day 1 INSET

REFLECTION

Acceptance is the key to Positivity “. The teacher should teach not punish
the student. Give them positive outlook that may lead to positive deeds. Make
them feel that they are accepted whatever behaviour that they have we may not
know their future now but we can make them successful because of the positive
treatment that they really deserve. Every student is unique and has diverse
behaviour. We must not always look forward to their negative side because if we
will see them on that way we cannot change them the way we want them to be.

Day 2 INSET

REFLECTION

Different learners, behaviour and capabilities. From the word “different’’, we

must also use different teaching styles, strategies and instructional materials for
each one of them or depend on what level they are. We must give the learners
different activities for us to know what they are capable. Multiple intelligences
strategies vary a lot of activities should be given to students most especially to all
fast learners. If students do not learn on the way we teach, teach them on the
way that they will learn. Differentiated instruction is one of the best strategies
that we can give to our students, because you are teaching according to their
needs.
Day 3 INSET

REFLECTION

There are many rules that we teachers should live on. First is we must
prioritize our pupils. Know who needs your help them to be a good citizen. The
welfare of them is important so that they feel comfortable when they are inside
the school. We must establish strong relationship with them . Listen to their
opinions and feedback. The sharing of thoughts about change made me realized
that if wee want to be a catalyst of change.

Test construction- we must consider many things before we construct any

test for our pupils. It should be well planned according to their needs. It should
be clear also for them to understand the questions. The topic on how to construct
a test, game me more tips to assess my pupils’ knowledge.
JOSEPHINE A. HABAGAT

Reflection DAY 1

Being positive in all action can create unity and perfect life. Uniformity can reflect
unity. If there is unity all things will become light and smooth. Positive outlook
can multiply/attract good health, wealth and right attitude. At the end of this
session we inform that we have lots of work/duty to do/accomplish. We should
discipline ourself positively. We should accept them positively. We have lots of
focus in life everything. That’s part of challenges. Always untied those knot/torn
by implementing the ABCD formula of positivity. If this could be happen, life is
easy every day. And there will be JOY in my life.

Reflection DAY 2

School is the basic place wherein the pupils can acquire learning. In order for the
pupils to learn in school, teacher/administrator set a school rules associated with
classroom management and school discipline. Classroom must establish policies.
It is important because it helps a school establish rule and procedure and acts
standard of quality for learning and safety, as well as expectations and
accountability. Without them school would lead the structure and function
necessary to provide the education needs and of pupils. In this session I learn that
the teacher must be obedient positively in all rules. If he teacher now use
obedience, the school would lack the structure and function necessary to provide
the obedient needs of pupils.
Reflection DAY 3

In order to have an effective teaching everyday, as a teacher. I realized we should

consider I apply the magic word of teaching which is classroom management.
Classroom Management needs in everyday lesson so that effective discipline, self
esteem, creativity and motivation will occur. The teacher should consider the
satisfaction and enjoyment in teaching that leading student to cooperate. In order
to have an effective classroom management the teacher should consider the VPA
technique (Vocabulary, Principles of Differentiating, Activity) likewise the quality
of learners (learning style, personal experience, readiness and intent among
pupils. Now a days, the teacher should be a differentiated teacher with than
traditional teacher. As a teacher we should catch the needs of the learners. The
teacher should learn the trend/internet of the pupils. Teachers and students work
together to ensure continual engagement and challenges for each other. Pupils
are assured in a variety of ways to demonstrate their own thought and growth.
The teacher should focus on multiple forms of intelligence so that learning in four.

As a teacher, I realized to reach out to find the special entry for every learners,
the teacher should consider the ff.

1. Different brains leads to different learners.

2. Different learners result in different learning style.
3. Different learning styles require different teaching methods.
4. Different teaching methods require different assessment.
MARLIE C. HONORIO

 Always do the right thing.

 Do the best that you can be to the group.
 Always be an optimistic person.
 Learn to control our emotions whenever there are negative
thoughts heard.
 Think many times before doing o saying it.
 Always remember the acronyms of Sir Dannes. The Abcd ‘s of
life…
Acceptance…believe… catch the good deeds… and discipline.

 As teachers, we need to go an extra mile for our pupils . Extend

and pay more attention to struggling pupils. They need our caring
hands to improve their lives.
 Be sure that if you allow pupils to do something, they will be
benefitting from it.
 Teach them how to weigh things. Learn how to discern good from
bad.
KELLY ADVINCULA

Day 1

Positivity radiates from one another. As a teacher, I learned about giving

importance to the pupils especially the one who has in need, never judge a child
according to their behavior, but go beyond or go deeply into his personal life
because I believe that every child is not bad its only their behavior.

From now on, I let them feel (kids/pupils) that they are important, and I will
accept/ understand them the way they are- maybe this kids/ pupils have a family
problem. I don’t want to be an additional burden to them but I will help them to
uplift their personality and one by one touch their lives. I believe in their
capability of being child. And pass the positive outlook to one another.

Day 2

“Every learner has a unique talent”

It was a very informative day for me as a teacher- as a new teacher in this school
with a new school head and a new way of observing how we deliver a lesson. I
was enlighten by the process on how to go with the observation that makes it
clearly not confusing especially now (RPMS). Atleast now I know how to rate my
performance by my observer. I can’t feel uncomfortable and confuse.

I believe that every child has a unique talent- it is a big challenge for me to be
ready every day in facing to my pupils, in delivering my lessons and activity as well
that will suit to their strength. As a teacher, as well as a student. I have
experienced and seen the importance of differentiated instruction. Although
differentiation is not always a simple or easy task, I feel it is highly necessary and
important to successfully integrate differentiation into my instruction. Through
differentiated instruction our needs as a teacher are met and the learning of
students are enhanced.

I realized that I need to be calm, patient and fair to all my students in order to win
their trust and create a favorable learning environment for them to ask questions
and get involve in their learning. I just be in silent and wait until they stop talking.

Day 3

One of the most and best thing about teaching is that there is an exact blueprint
for success. I believe that no teachers are the same. Each of us has their own
teaching style and classroom management.

As a teacher, we are the best actors and actresses to our learners because we
never bring our personal issues in school because it will distract our attention. We
must have an open communication with our pupils so that the pupils will feel at
ease and comfortable. After this inset I will be fair and consistent to whatever
decisions I made.

For now having a test construction will not be a new to instead it backs my
routine when I was in my former school when I am preparing a test.

I always put in mind that as a teacher I’ am a catalyst of change.

Day 1

I was inspired by Mr. Serrano’s topic. I learned that we should

appreciate and accept our student’s behaviour even and most especially
when it is easier not to appreciate them.

I realized that these kinds of pupils are the ones who need our love and
affection the most.

I hope I can always have this feeling when I’m with my pupils.

Day 2

Every learner has its own different way in acquiring knowledge, with
these reason as a teacher, I must try to consider in planning and carrying
out my teaching objectives, as well as the activities provided according to
the level of intellectual ability ad interest of the learners. By using varied
activities and strategies and learning to understand the pupils is of great
consideration, in the delivery of the lesson and success of the development
of learning of each student.

Day 3

Test construction and implementation is important to evaluate learning

progress and teaching effectiveness. As a facilitator of learning, I must align
the objectives carried out in constructing the test. A test must be simple but
valid in the evaluation process.

Day 1: October 29, 2018

My Reflection
Today is a meaningful day for all of us. We are enlightened about the topics
discussed and everyone enjoyed the day.
This day I was enlightened about the topic of Mr. Dannes that tackles about
discipline. It touches my heart because I really do not know how to discipline my
son. The speaker is true on saying that discipline now a day is a punishment. I say
so because I discipline my son through punishment. I am very sad because I am one
of those parents that punishes a child that is not behaving well. I am very thankful
because I attended this INSET, now I know how to deal with my son and my pupils
regarding discipline. I will be more careful in dealing with pupils that are not
behaving well in my class. From now on, I need to accept the differences of my son
so that he will not feel that we do not love him. As a parent, I should believe my
son that even he is pasaway, he can be someone someday that we can be proud
of. As a speaker is saying a while ago, believing is important so that we can
determine the capability of an individual. I also look on the good side of my son and
most of all respect what he is.
At the end of this day and days to come, I will be a mother who discipline her
child through learning not punishing.

Day 2: October 30, 2018

My Reflection
Today is another meaningful day because I able to attend the INSET despite
the bad weather. I learned a lot about the topic of Dr. Julia I. Tio-an that is about
the classroom management.
I reflect on the incident that our principal called our attention regarding our
classroom cleanliness. Upon hearing the talked of our principal, I understand why
she do so. Cleanliness is one factor to be a good manager inside the classroom.
Now I realized that maybe it is one reason why pupils are not learning well because
our classroom is not conducive to learning.
Aside from that, I reflect also on the techniques of better teacher id to have
or use a softer voice so that students really have to listen to what you are saying. I
need this technique since I used to shout whenever the pupils are not listening.
At the end of this INSET and from now on, I will be a good manager inside
the classroom because I know being a good manager will lead to an effective
teaching and that is what I want to be an effective teacher.

Day 3: October 31, 2018

My Reflection
Today is the third and last day of our INSET and as the other day it was a
meaningful day because I have learned a lot from the speakers.
Today’s thought for the day enlightened me to embrace change and be a
risk taker to accept the changes that we encounter in our everyday life.
Mr. Gerry Sabangan’s topic about the 24 rules that a teacher should live by
inspires me to be teacher which prioritize my students and be a teacher that
inspires my pupils to be diligent pupils so that that could achieve their dreams in
life.
Lastly, the topic of Mrs. Nersita Rafael refreshes me in constructing test that
should make or construct test that suits my pupils and be careful that the test will
be reliable. Test should be a means to know the capability of my pupils and to know
how to teach them well.

DAY 1

REFLECTION

With the seminar on Dealing with difficult students, I realized some things. First, I
have to accept the negative things/behavior of my students. Without acceptance,
I will never be able to help them change their negative behavior. Second, I need
to believe that my difficult students have a future. Third, I have to find good
things about my students and focus on rewarding those good things. Always find
positive things. Lastly, I should discipline my students with empathy and respect.

I will try my best to apply what I have learned on this seminar. I have to start
positivity in my classroom and among my students and that starts in ME.

DAY 2

The topics discussed today, “Differentiated Instruction” and “Classroom

Management” served as reminders for me. Though I heard these topics already, I
still consider them important topics to be discussed over and over because
teachers like me tend to forget and need to be reminded by and by.

I realized, I need to give focus on my classroom management because I believe

this is the doorstep to positive discipline.
On the other hand, the video on Digital Cocaine struck me the most. They say,
technology connects people but I think it separates people. Let’s guard ourselves
not to be addicted with gadgets. Whoever fears God should avoid the extreme.

DAY 3

The topic on “24 Rules that Teachers Should Live By” served as a reminder for me
as to what kind of a teacher should I be. Honestly, I don’t live by some of the
rules. From now on, I will try my very best to live by all the rules. I will print out
these rules and put in a place where I could see all the time.

Another learning that I can take home today is how to construct test questions. As
a new teacher in Grade 1, I admit I am not yet very good at constructing test
questions. The talk helped me a lot and gave me know-how on this matter. I am
looking forward to more seminars like these.

REFLECTION

First Day INSET

My reflection in our INSET for today is about dealing with difficult students
and positive discipline, Mr. Serrano discussed the untying the knot that has (4)
stands. A-stands for acceptance, this is the key to everything, B- stands for believe
in the future, it means your action has pour, C-stands for catch peoples right
which means to find something good in your pupils finally,D-stands for discipline
with empathy and respect always. There’s a formula for positivity accept
negativity and positive outlook than can be positive future and positive action
that can be a positive results. Always see the good and positive outlook of your
students so that the life of your pupils can be positive as good as they are. Help
your students in positive way.

Second Day INSET

Our master teacher, Mrs.Paragele discussed about the differentiated

instruction, she said that students come to our classroom with variety of the
following such as learning styles, interest, personal experiences, motivators and
readiness levels. According to Howard Gardner, “ The biggest mistake of past
centuries in teaching has been to treat all children”. The effective instruction
strategies categories in least effective and most effective. The differentiated
instruction is a set of unique decisions that the educate makes to being learning
within the group of all students. There are principles of differentiated classroom
such as all students participate in their respective works. In a traditional
classroom, it focuses on the teacher and differentiated classroom on pupils. As a
teacher we should know and response to our learner’s needs.

Third Day INSET

My reflection about the topic of our master teacher, Gerry Sabangan as a

teacher is that we should learn how to deal with the relationship in our pupils,
peers, administration, parents and establish meaningful cooperative relationship.
The teacher must be open and willing to learn new ideas at all times so that the
teacher grow, share her/his knowledge to their pupils. He stated that the parents
are the cornerstone of a great education and teacher must do their part to
engage in learning process and both parents and teacher are also the instrument
to mold the knowledge and behavior of the pupils. Make time to visit your pupils
in this respective house specially those pupils with special needs.

According to our guidance counselor Mrs.Rafael, the characteristics of

good test is that we need to consider the validity, realibility and usabilityto
construct a test. As teacher you should able to prepare a good test according to
the mastery of the subject and the knowledge of the pupils. To make a test
question as teacher we must prepare/follow the Table of specification ( TOS ) so
that the pupils cope the objective/lesson what the teacher tackle. The teacher
encourage to use a multiple choice for making a test for the preparation/ train for
the future test question.

REFLECTION

First Inset Session:

Today’s session I learned that what you gave give will comes back to you.
As a person if we give kindness, we begets kindness also. I also refreshed by
classroom observation tools-RPMS because of the discussion from our master
teacher Mrs. Guia Jumawid. She emphasize on the different indicators for us to be
clarified and attain our goal to reach for excellence and to get an outstanding
performance.

During afternoon session, I learned that discipline his something to do with

positive reinforcement. We discipline pupils for them to became a better person
by teaching them to believe in their self and we can only do that we can learn to
accept them for who they are. We should look for their strength and appreciate it
rather than their mistakes or weakness. We should look at the positive side of
each negative situation and we should always remember that discipline doesn’t
mean punishment it means teaching.

Second Inset Session:

Today’s session, I learned that if we want to get an outstanding grade in

observation, we must being coach and mentored first by our principal and master
teachers by a pre-conference prior to the actual observation for us to became
guided on what strategies and activities they expect to observe from us during
our actual observation. Afterwards, a post-conference must follow to give
feedback on what does a teacher needs to improve the next time he/she will be
observe.

In the afternoon session, I learned that classroom management involves a

conducive learning facility of our classroom that’s why we need to improve our
classroom facilities in order to make learning effective. It also involve the art of
creativity and imagination lessons so that it motivate pupils. In the video
presentation, I learn that we can only do one thing at a time. We lost focus
because of this digital world and most specially we miss out from God.

Third Inset Session:

Today’s session, I learned that as a teacher we should always prioritize our

pupils. We should always be aware of the different local policies, rules and
regulation so that we can also relay it to our pupils and to their parents. In making
test construction, I also learn that low level test question does not mean easy and
high level test does not mean hard. It must be specific, not general.

It so nice because the speaker Mrs. Rafael gives reward to the teacher who
actively participated in the discussion. During the test construction, I learn that
we should never use fill in the blanks in making test. We should use multiple
choice test so that the pupils will practice in answering multiple choice test.

In making a stem during multiple choice test, it must have a statement and
question. Before lunchtime, visitors from City Savings Bank introduce to us the
project PER@parasyon and its so good to hear because it encourage the teacher
to save for the future.

Reflections
October 29, 2018

What I liked about today’s session was about Imposing Positive Discipline
towards our pupils.
Being a teacher, sometimes I become more impatient when it comes to disciplining
my pupils. I have hard times in dealing with their attitudes particularly their bad
behaviour. From now on, I should have more patience and use different
approaches in dealing with my pupils with different attitudes. I will be more
careful with the words I uttered in front of them because I don’t want them to get
mad at me and would remember me as their worst teacher. I want them to go to
school not only because it is necessary but because of their teacher who takes care
of them as a second mother who will mold them and teach them good values. I will
also see the good in my pupils not jut their negative attitudes. Praising them when
they’ve done good things. I will also smile often and be more approachable and
willing to help with their needs. I will give respect because everyone deserves it
whether you’re a teacher or a pupil.
October 30, 2018

I have bee teaching for quite sometimes. It has been my struggle on how to
handle pupils having different behaviors. This school year I feel I have more pupils
who are habitually in trouble or making trouble inside the classroom. What I have
learned from today’s session was about how to deal with difficult pupils and
managing classroom situations. I also admit that sometimes I’m being impatient in
dealing with pupils who misbehave. From now on, I will focus on the entire class
and not just for a single
pupil who misbehave. In general, I will first get the attention of the whole class and
will talk to that pupil/pupils who is misbehave that caause distractions in class. I
will also use some strategies or techniques on how to deal will pupils having
different attitudes in class. I will be more efficient to become an effective teacher.
Accepting that pupils have different attitudes that you must deal with. believing
also that there is something good in them. That all you wanted was for them to
become a good person. Having good future and become a successful on in their
chosen field.
October 31, 2018

In today’s session, what I have learned was about tips teachers should lived
by. Being a teacher you are liable for the welfare of your pupils inside the school.
They are your most priority. Always thinking on how to give the best treatment for
them not only when it comes to academic but also giving good values that will
benefit them as a person. We must also build strong bond with our stakeholders our
parents. They are the one who will help us in molding our pupils to become good
citizen in the future. They are our partners and will be of big help in the activities
and other school related matters. And I remember that for us to become effective,
we teachers must also have time for ourselves to relax, give time to regain strength
to perform our duties well. We must also take care of ourselves most importantly
our health.
