B.Com(H) 3rd Semester

1. a) Mrs. Banerjee wants to purchase a car which will cost her 4 lakhs on road. She has planned to take
car loan from SBI. She has to make a 12% down payment of the total amount and the rest amount she will
be taking as loan from the Bank. The Bank will give her the loan amount @ 11% interest for a period of 5
years. Calculate the down payment amount and also calculate the EMI (monthly payment) Mrs. Banerjee has
to make to be repay the loan.

b) From the following information calculate monthly payment if loan amount is Rs.500000, interest
rate 11% p.a. and payment to be made within 12 years. What will be the monthly installment if loan amount
Rs.400000, Rs.450000, Rs. 500000, Rs.550000, Rs.600000 with interest rate 8%, 9%, 10%, 11%, 12% p.a?

2. Using Spreadsheet create the following table.

a. Enter the value of your choice into the cells and marks should be out of 100 and give the details of 10
number of students.
b. All the column header should be bold and centrally aligned.
c. Find out the percentage(%) of all six semester marks using the SUM function OR this
formula(1st+2nd+3rd+4th+5th +6th)/600*100
d. Find the standard deviation of all six semester marks of the student
e. Using 'IF' function find out the grade of the student
IF percentage>= 75 Grade A
IF percentage>= 60 and percentage<= 75 Grade B
IF percentage>= 45 percentage<= 60 Grade C
Else Grade D
f. Make a pie chart on student name, 1st, 2nd, 3rd semester marks.
g. Give appropriate table(page) border

a) Align text on the right and use borders where appropriate


b) Use auto fill feature to fill the Item code column.
c) Quantity Sold: Quantity sold = start inventory - end inventory
d) Retail Price: retail price = wholesale cost + (wholesale cost * markup percentage i.e; 35%)
e) Gross Profit: gross profit = (retail price - wholesale cost) * quantity sold
f) Insurance = 12% of Total Gross Profit
g) Taxes = if Gross Profit <= Rs.18,000, then Taxes = Gross Profit * 22%, otherwise Taxes = Gross Profit *

h) Calculate the total Expenses i.e. insurance, tax etc.
i) Calculate the Net Profit: = Gross Profit - Expenses
j) Rename the worksheet to Store
k) Create a 3-D pie chart on another sheet for Gross Profit
l) Rename the chart worksheet Pie Chart

4. Write the paragraph using a word processor:


A Read only Memory is a memory unit that performs the read operation only, it does not have a
write capability. This implies that binary information stored in a ROM is made permanent during
the hardware production of the unit and cannot be altered by writing different words into it.
Whereas a RAM is a general-purpose device whose contents can be altered during the
computational process, a ROM is restricted to reading words that are permanently stored with
in the unit. The binary information to be stored, specified by the designer, is then embedded in
the unit to form the required interconnection pattern.

a) Change the font of the paragraph with courier new, bold italic, size 18
b) Change the alignment with justified
c) Give line spacing double
d) Give the line spacing 1.5.
e) Give a heading as “RAM and ROM” using the header
f) Replace ROM with Read Only Memory in the entire document
g) Set the margin of the content as follows
Left 1.5” right .5”
Top 1” Bottom .5”

h) Count the occurrences of the word “ROM” in the above document.


5. Use mail merge feature of word processor to do the following:

Write a Birthday Invitation letter.

Whole letter should have the following format:

a) Font type = “ Times New Roman”


b) Font Size= 12
c) Use Header and write “Invitation letter “
d) Create a data source with fields: F_Name, L_Name, City, Pin, Venue, Date.
e) Enter 10 different meaningful data in the data source.
f) Insert the data field accordingly.
Merge the letter to produce different letters.

6. Using Power point presentation make a presentation on “ E-Commerce”.


a. Your presentation may contain 10 slides.
b. Give custom animation to your slides.
c. Create hyperlink.

7. Create a database with the name Player_ Details .
