Facilities:
The 50 acres lush green campus of IIIT-NR is enabled with Wi-Fi connectivity, has excellent
amenities for sports and other recreational activities. The modern architecture of the buildings
and the serene environment of the campus fosters an ambiance for the students to engage in
creativity and innovation. The institute has two state-of-art virtual classrooms. The classrooms
and laboratories are equipped with state-of-the-art tools for teaching and learning. Some of the
important laboratories are: VLSI & Embedded Lab, Artificial Intelligence & Deep Learning Lab,
Communication Lab, Data Science Lab etc.
Parents and guardians of students are allowed to stay in IIIT-NR Guest House at nominal charges
subject to availability of rooms and permission from concerned authorities. Rooms in the Guest
House are air-conditioned, furnished and provided with attached bathrooms. Guests can avail
on-campus dining facilities at nominal charges.
Canteen Facilities: The institute has separate dining facilities for boys and girls in their
respective hostels. Additionally, it has a centralized canteen that serves snacks, non-veg food,
general fast food, juice, and milk products. Institute mess serves both vegetarian and non-
vegetarian food. The mess is managed by a committee comprising of students, staff, and faculty.
Sports Facilities: Every hostel has separate sports facility for indoor games including table tennis
and badminton. For outdoor games, one basketball court, two volleyball courts and one football
cum cricket ground are available. Indoor games facilities are available in each hostel apart from
the SAC (Student activities Centre).
Gym: Open air Gym facilities with modern equipment are available separately for boys and girls.
A centralized indoor Gym facility is also available at SAC.
Conference Hall: There is a 250 capacity air-conditioned conference hall equipped with latest
projection system.
Amphitheater: The institute has an open air theater (Amphitheater) of 1000 capacity for its
cultural activities.
Auditorium: The institute has a centrally air-conditioned auditorium with 800 seats capacity for
organizing large technical and cultural events.

2. Academic Programs
IIIT-NR currently runs three undergraduate programs: B.Tech. in Electronics & Communication
Engineering (ECE), B.Tech. in Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) and B.Tech. in Data Science
& Artificial Intelligence (DSAI). These credit-based programs are designed to foster core skills
with innovation and entrepreneurship skills among students. The dynamic structure of the
curriculum orchestrates with the changing needs of industry and academia. IIIT-NR also runs
postgraduate and doctoral programs as mentioned in the table below:
3. Campus Placement:
The first batch (2015-2019) of IIIT-NR students were offered placements through both on-
campus and off-campus selection processes. Majority of these companies offered students
six month paid internships which get converted into full time placement offer on
completion of the internship period. Some of the placement offers are from prestigious
companies such as Carl Zeiss India Pvt. Ltd., Soroco India Pvt. Ltd., Utopia Global Inc.,
Affine Analytics Pvt. Ltd., Addverb Technologies Pvt. Ltd., TCS, 1Mg Technology etc.

7 LPA (Average)
All India Quota (35% seats amounting to 63 seats: 21 in CSE, 21 in ECE and 21 in DSAI):
Candidates who completed their school education from any part of India belong to this
category. Their eligibility will be as per the business rules of JoSAA 2019. Admissions will be
based on JEE (Main) 2019 rank.
NTPC Quota (15% Seats amounting to 27 seats: 9 in CSE, 9 in ECE and 9 in DSAI):
Candidates employed with NTPC or their wards who completed their school education from
any part of India belong to this category. Please visit https://josaa.nic.in for eligibility criteria.
Admissions will be based on JEE (Main) 2019 rank. All reservations will be as per
Government of India norms.
Chhattisgarh State Quota (50% Seats amounting to 90 seats: 30 in CSE, 30 in ECE and 30 in

DSAI): Candidates who passed both 10 and 12 standard examinations from schools
situated in the State of Chhattisgarh belong to this category. The candidates must have
scored 50% aggregate marks in Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics (45% for
SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates) in their 12th standard examination. Admissions will be based
on JEE (Main) 2019 rank. The reservation for candidates belonging to SC, ST and OBC
categories shall be as per Chhattisgarh Government norms.

b. Children of Ex-Servicemen – 5%
c. Children or Grandchildren of Freedom Fighters – 3%
d. Persons with Disabilities – 5%
Additionally, 1 (one) supernumerary seat each is available for Kashmiri Migrants in CSE, ECE and
Data Science & Artificial Intelligence programs.
The following criteria, the same as stipulated eligibility for appearing in JEE (Main) 2019, will also
apply:

Only those candidates who have passed their 12 standard examination or any other
qualifying examination in 2017, 2018 or 2019 shall be eligible.

The candidates who appeared in 12 standard examination or equivalent qualifying
examinations in 2016, did not pass in 2016, but passed in 2017, are not eligible.
C. Admission Process
Candidates should apply under any or all of the above categories based on their eligibility.
Candidates seeking admission under All India Quota must apply through JoSAA (http://josaa.nic.in)
and those seeking admission under Chhattisgarh quota and/or NTPC quota must apply through
the institute online portal (https://www.iiitnr.ac.in/content/btech-admission-2019). The process
flow is given in the following page.
Admission Flow Chart
Candidates seeking admission under reserved categories have to mandatorily submit their
caste/category certificate issued by a competent authority in their name at the time of
application. Caste/category certificate issued in the name of either of the parents (Mother/
Father) is not acceptable except OBC -Non creamy layer category.

For Chhattisgarh quota seats, a candidate belonging to any of the reserved categories
has to bring SC/ST/OBC Certificate issued by competent authorities in Chhattisgarh.
For NTPC quota seats, the benefit of caste reservation will be given only to those
mentioned in the respective central list of corresponding states, published by the
Government of India. Candidates seeking admission under NTPC quota seats shall have
to submit a certificate from the Nodal Authority in NTPC certifying in prescribed form
that the candidate is eligible to apply for the NTPC quota.
OBC candidates are required to produce a caste certificate issued by the competent
authorities on or after 1st April 2019.
The wards/ grand-children of Freedom Fighters shall have to submit a certificate issued
by a competent authority that his/her parent/grandparent is a freedom fighter.
The wards of Ex‐servicemen shall have to submit a certificate issued by Army
Commanding Officer or Zila Sainik Welfare Officers.
For Persons with Disabilities (PWD), the following certificates are required to be
submitted:
i. Certificate issued by District Medical Board certifying disability
ii. Certificate from Superintendent, Government of India, and Ministry of Labour
certifying that candidate is eligible to study for the subject applied for.
For wards of Kashmiri Migrants, a certificate from the competent authority (Sub‐
Divisional Officer ‐ Revenue) is required.
Counselling Process
Candidates applying for admissions shall be required to remit a non-refundable counselling fee
of Rs. 500/- online. Based on the online applications received, merit lists, based on JEE (Main)
2019 rank, will be published for each category. Please refer admission process flow chart
(Section C).
The entire process will be conducted online strictly as per the announced schedule in process
flow diagram. Any changes in the deadlines or alterations in the process will be duly
communicated on our website. Any physical solicitation concerning the Admission Process will
not be entertained.

1. 10th pass mark sheet
2. 12th pass mark sheet
3. JEE (Main) Rank card
4. Caste certificate wherever applicable
5. FF/Ex-S/PWD certificate wherever applicable
6. Ward of NTPC employee certificate wherever applicable.
Applicants are advised to have relevant certificates handy in legible digital form (i.e. scanned
copies or digital certificates) to upload in order to complete the admission process.
