Dataverse Setup Guide

Setup requirements
This is a desktop only release for Windows 7 and Windows 10, 64-bit. The supported browsers are Chrome
and Internet Explorer 11. You will need a minimum of 4GB RAM (8GB highly recommended), and Intel Core
i5 or 4-core equivalent processor minimum (i7 recommended).
You must have administrative privileges to install the required services.

Upgrading from a previous version of Dataverse

If you have previously installed Dataverse, you must uninstall it before installing the latest version. If you
have not installed a previous version of Dataverse, you can skip to the next section.

1. Before uninstalling, you need to locate two files and make a copy of them outside of your Dataverse
installation directory. The first is the "securityStore.jks" file, which can be found in the data folder in
your Dataverse installation directory, and the second is the license file (.lic) which can be found in the
docs/license folder in your Dataverse installation directory.

2. Locate the uninstall application file in your installation directory, for example, C:/Program
Files/Dataverse/uninstall.exe.

3. Double-click the uninstall file. The uninstaller will guide you through the process step by step.

4. When prompted, clear the Delete data directory check box to retain any existing data flows and nodes.

5. Paste the securityStore.jks file that you copied in step 1 into the data folder.

6. Download the new version of Dataverse and double-click the application installation file. The installer
will guide you through the process step by step.

Note: To enable you to easily continue working with existing data flows and nodes, ensure that
you install the new version of Dataverse into the same directory in which the previous version of
Dataverse was installed.

7. When prompted, direct the installer to the license file (.lic) that you copied in step 1 to activate the
product.

8. Before working with the new version of Dataverse, we recommend that you clear your browser cache.
