Description of the tiger

The Tiger has a long body, a short neck, and a firm head with a short muzzle that
contains a set of sharp teeth. Tigers have stout legs that end in broad paws. A well fed tiger is
bulky, broad in the shoulders, back, and loins. Males are generally longer and heavier than
females. The average length for males is about 6 feet long and with a tail length of 3 feet long.
Females are usually 6 to 12 inches shorter in body length.
A tiger's fur color varies from orange-red to tawny yellow, with a lot of black stripes that
have different lengths and widths. The cheeks, throat, and the insides of the ears and legs are
white. The back of the ear is black with a white spot in the center.

MY GRANDMOTHER

My Grandmother is a very gentle, loving and caring person. She never raises her voice
at anyone. She has lived with me for as long as I can remember. She takes care of me
when Mom and Dad go to work.

My Grandmother is a very neat and tidy person. She has very dry grey hair which she
usually pulls up into a bun. She has dark brown eyes that twinkle whenever she sees
me. I hardly ever see them wet.

Grandmother likes to tell stories. She usually tells me brief stories of Her childhood
and expresses them very well with her tired, old, wrinkled hands. Sometime, she also
tells story about my Grandfather who has passed away. My dear Grandmother always
says good things about him. She once told me that he was the nicest person she had
ever met.

I really love my Grandmother.

Giraffe

One of the most interesting animals in the zoo is the giraffe. This is the giraffe we saw at
the zoo. It is male and it is about six meters tall.
The giraffe has big brown eyes. They are protected by very thick lashes. This giraffe has
brown spots on the skin. This coloring helps protect the giraffe. It is also has two short horns on
its head.
Like a camel, it can go for a long time without drinking water. One source of water is the
leaves which it eats from trees. It is tall, so the giraffe can reach the tender leaves at the top of a
tree.
The giraffe has two methods of self protection. If something frightens an adult giraffe, it
can gallop away at about fifty kilometers per hour or stay to fight with its strong legs.

I am so glad that today is over. So many things have gone wrong. For some
reasons I didn’t sleep a wink last night. I was very tired when Mum called me this
morning. I fell asleep again until Mum called me again. That snooze made me late.
I did not have time for breakfast. I was starving as I ran to catch the school bus.
I just missed it. Dad had to ride me to school. He was late for teaching at his school
and he was furious with me. He scolded me for being late.
I arrived at school on time. The teacher asked us to hand in our homework. My
homework was not in my bag. I had forgotten to put it in my bag the night before. I
usually check my bag in the morning. I did not do this because I was late I had to do
extra assignment as a punishment.
After Biology lesson, I did not tie my shoelace properly. I tripped over it. And
fell down the stairs. I hurt my knee and had to have a bandage on it. What a terrible
day! I hope that I have much better one tomorrow.

I really enjoyed my holiday in Australia. Last Sunday I visited a marine park
called Sea World which is at surfers’ Paradise near Brisbane. It’s Australia’s largest
marine park and I had a wonderful day there.
The first thing I saw was the Oceanorium where you can watch all sorts of sea
fish and animal under water. There were huge turtles, sharks, and a beautiful tropical
sea fish. The most exciting thing was watching a man feeding the sharks. He wore a
special diving suit. Then I watched the performance of sea animals. The saw was in a
big outdoor swimming pool. There were killer whales, dolphins and sea lions, and
they did all sort of fantastic things in the water. One of the girls in the show rode
around the pool on the back of killing whale, and another girl rode underwater on the
back of a big turtle. After the saw I had lunch. There were several big restaurants at
the park and I had lunch in a restaurant that was shape like a ship! Then I watched a
wonderful water-ski show which was held on a lake.
There were lots of other things to do at the park. There was lake cruising, a
train ride, a big water slide, swimming pools, and an incredible roller coaster called
the ‘corkscrew’- because it goes three loops upside down. But I wish I had gone on
the roller coaster ride before lunch rather than after it!

The weather was very clear. My family and I decided to go camping last holiday. Father
prepared the tent and other equipment. Mother prepared the cooking and eating utensils. I took
my fishing rod and my brother brought his sport equipment. When everything was ready, we left
for the camping site in countryside.
There were many campers when we arrived at the camping site. Unfortunately, the good
location near the river had been occupied by other campers so we had to look for another place.
Finally, we found a good place little bit further. It was near a big tree. After setting up the tent,
my father and I went fishing. We joined other people sitting on the rock near the river.
In the evening, father made a fire. Mother cooked the fish we caught. I could say that it
was the best fish I had ever tasted. Sleeping in the tent was a very wonderful experience. I
woke up early in the morning. I felt fresh. Then I accompanied my brother playing ball.
In the afternoon, we went back home.

Venice is a city in northern Italy. It has been known as the “Queen of the
Adriatic”, “City of Bridges”, and “The City of Light”. The city stretches across 117 small
islands in the marshy Venetian Lagoon along the Adriatic Sea in northeast Italy.
Venice is world famous for its canals. It is built on an archipelago of 117
islands formed by about 150 canals in a shallow lagoon. The islands on which the city is
built are connected by about 400 bridges. In the old centre, the canals serve the function
of roads, and every form of transport is on water or on foot.
You can ride gondola there. It is the classical Venetian boat which nowadays
is mostly used for tourists, or weddings, funerals, or other ceremonies. Now, most
Venetians travel by motorised waterbuses which ply regular routes along the major canals
and between the city’s islands. The city has many private boats. The only gondolas still
in common use by Venetians are the Traghetti, foot passenger ferries crossing the
Grand Canal at certain points without bridges.
