I. Objectives

A. Daily Routine
- Greet the students and ask them to arrange their chairs and clean their
area
- Check the attendance
- Review the previous lesson
B. Motivation
- “Convince me”: Learners will work in groups of five members. Each group
will have to convince the teacher to give them plus points (for round one)
and a candy (for round two).
- After this activity, the teacher will relate the tactics they have used with the
topic for the day
C. Presentation/ Lesson Proper
Speech delivery – ability to present the speaker’s message in a clear,
coherent and interesting way without distracting the audience.
Types of speech according to purpose: (1) informative speech –
provides the audience with a clear understanding of a concept; (2)
entertainment speech – amuses the audience; and (3) persuasive
speech – provide audience with favorable ideas that can influence their
own ideas and decisions.
Types of speech according to delivery
Extemporaneous – speaking with limited preparation
Impromptu – speaking without advances preparation
Manuscript – reading aloud a written message
Memorized – reciting a written message word-for-word from
memory
Delivery for different situations
Speaking to a specific audience size
Speaking in an open-air venue or outside a building
Speaking in different venues
Speaking with a microphone
Speaking with a podium or lectern

Use a conversational style Avoid fillers
Maintain eye-contact Stand straight
Modulate your voice Avoid distracting mannerisms

- Summarize the key points: connect with audience; present themselves
appropriately; modulate their voice; and relax
- Review the different types of speech

- By 3’s: they will write a short speech of their own topic and present to the
class. Each member must have to talk. One group will give feedback to
the presenters.
