Introduction: Dlf mall of india is located in nodia, uttar Pradesh. It is India’s first Destination mall. It
has a retail space of twenty lacs. Sq.ft. it is designed by Benoy Architcts. The mall has 7 floors which
have been divided into 7 floors. the mall opened in April 2016.
Location and Accessibility: The mall is located in sector 18 in nodia. South delhi region is on one
side. Nodia and greater nodia is on the other side. The mall can be reached from both these region
within 20 minutes of drive. It is 18.5 kms from New Delhi Railway Station. It is 16 kms From Old Delhi
Railway Station.
Catchment: The structure of the mall is built such that it can handle a population of 45 lakhs people
at once.
Concept: The mall concept was to make it such that it is Indian in essence and International in
approach. DLF Mall of India introduces the international concepts of retail in a form suitable for the
indian customer. The concept was to categorized the mall into ‘zones’ which focuses on making a
mall experience more convenient and enjoyable.
There are five zones and are categorized Market place, International Boulevard, Family World, The
High Street, The Leisure Land
Parking: three basement levels for Parking Space are there which accommodate 1700 Cars and 600
two-wheelers. Special Parking slots for women and physically challenged persons.
Highlights of the mall: Introducing the concept of ‘’ Zones in India”. Approximately 40% space is
dedicated to F&B, Casual Dining and Indoor Entertainment. The largest food court of the country
with seating capacity of 1200 people designed by Varney designs. India in essence and international
in approach. DLF Mall Of India introduces both National and International brands like Zara, Marks &
Spencer, Forever 21, Uniqulo, Global Desi,Meena Bazar etc.
Exterior of the mall
Exterior and Facade: There are two entries into the mall building from the east and the west gate.
There are 9 gates to enter into the mall. The exterior facade is provided by steel framework having
steel jalis, ACP sheets cladding and glass. Plantations were provided along the pathways. Special
areas are provided outside the mall building for gathering and meeting purposes.
Design:
• The unique design of the Mall of India includes special features like race-track atriums which run
through the property, ensuring optimum visibility to all stores since their facades face the atrium
therefore gain equal visibility and prominence.
• Although it is the largest mall of India but because of its design one can never feel that.
• There are five escalator sets and all of them run from the third basement to all the way up. Along
with escalators, there are bridges too. These all ensures easy flow of movement.
• The Mall’s unique zoning strategy is making the shopping experience much easier.
• Food Court Area has an open ceiling concept. Lots of decorative ceiling lights have been fitted in
these ceiling.
