ACT I
Sequence 1 [Emilio is sitting beside Gabriela’s grave. Saying how much he miss her], (Memorial Park)
[Emilio is walking towards Gabriela’s grave]
Emilio: Its’s been a while hasn’t it? Gabriela. I miss you. Life is not as fun as it was without you. I hope you still
haven’t forgotten about me yet.
Emilio: Me? I’ll never forget, I promised after all. You’d come back to life to kill me if I did. Ha ha
[Gives flower and sits beside Gabriela] (FLASHBACK TIME!)

Sequence 2 [Emilio is remembering how happy they are in the past], (Memorial Park)
Emilio: Hey, do you still remember when you were still here? It was so rowdy, y’know?

Sequence 2.1 [Emilio and his family eating together], (Dining area)
Remember when we ate your cooking together? You always complained that you thought the soup was too
salty! Haha, to me it still tasted delicious.

Sequence 2.2 [Their happy moments in the park], (Park)

Remember when we visited the park every Saturday? You always looked pretty in that dress. I really am lucky
to have you, it makes me wonder, what did you ever saw in me back then?

Sequence 2.3 [The moment they saw Fatima, their foster child], (Streets/ in front of gate)
Remember when we first saw Fatima? I’m glad we took her in. She’s been taking care of me these past few
years. She’s kind to even take care of an old man like me. She needs to stop worrying about me and go enjoy
her life! Don’t you agree?

Sequence 3 [Talking about their children], (Memorial Park)

The children? They’re doing well! You’d be proud if you saw them, I’m proud of them as well. They grow up so
fast. It feels as if it was just yesterday that we were eating your salty soup. Time do flies by fast, huh?

Sequence 3.1 [ Julio the Lawyer ], (Office)

Julio became a lawyer, he’s working really hard. He works day and night! I’m kind of worried about his health. I
hope he’s properly taking care of himself.
Sequence 3.2 [Teodora the Architect], (Teodora’s workspace)
Meanwhile Teodora became an architect, she is really passionate about it. Did you know? She designed the
house I am currently living in, its quite comfy. She currently lives in Canada with her own family.
We have a granddaughter; her name is Alexandra. She’s a beautiful angel just like her mother. I wish they
would visit often.

Sequence 4 [Remembering Gabriela’s death], (Bedroom of Gabriela)

Gabriela…

Julio: WE NEED HER TO GO TO THE HOSPITAL!
Gabriela: It’s okay Julio, I don’t want to. I’d rather stay being surrounded with the people I love and care about

Julio But your condition is getting worse! If you don’t go to a hospital, you’ll-
Gabriela: Everybody has a timer in them son. And it seems that my time has run out. Please ... let me be with
my family till my final breath.
Teodora: Ma! Don’t speak like that! Please…we still need you.
Emilio: Teodora, Julio don’t yell at your mother.
Julio: But at this rate s-she w-will…
Gabriela: Julio, Teodora, thank you, but really its fine. Fatima, take care of your father and siblings, okay?
Fatima: Ma…
Gabriela: Emilio… dear, don’t forget me okay? Even if the whole world forgets, you can’t okay?
Emilio: Gabriela…don’t go, don’t leave me alone.

Emilio: Y’know, its always me and Fatima in the house. They rarely visit me, it’s gotten quite lonely. Julio left
after he became a lawyer.

Sequence 4.2 [Julio leaving after he became a lawyer], (House)

(Scene of Julio leaving)
Julio: I’m very sorry but I am always very busy! I need to move to an apartment that is closer to my office or
else we’ll be starving! Please understand, this is for all of us.
Emilio: *Sighs* Okay then, take care of yourself son.
Julio: Thanks Papa, I’ll make you proud.
Emilio: I already am (Hugs Julio, then Julio leaves, Emilio leaving a sad expression)

Sequence 4.3 [Teodora leaving after she became an architect], (In front of gate)
Emilio: Teodora said that she needs to move to Canada for work, because of that I rarely see her and
Alexandra…
[Scene of Teodora leaving)
Teodora: Papa don’t worry, I’ll call you, technology is advanced now, we can video chat whenever we want.
Emilio: Do you really need to move to another country? No matter how you see it, Canada is too far!
Teodora: Please understand, its not only my job but my husband’s as well, Alexandra can also achieve a better
education in Canada.

Emilio: Have you ever thought about a world where everything is exactly the same, Except you don't exist?
Everything functions perfectly without you. Ha, ha... The thought terrifies me. Nothing is more miserable than
having the people you love forget you. If I died would anyone ever know about my existence? Will I be just a
forgotten memory? Or will death be just an endless abyss of darkness? Is this how you also felt Gabriela...? I'm
rambling again aren't I? Don't worry, we’re going to be together soon Gabriela, wait for me a little longer...

Sequence 5 [Emilio is sad inside the jeepney while on his way to the clinic], (Jeepney)

Sequence 6 [Dr. Sta Maria telling about Emilio’s condition] , (Clinic)

[Emilio is currently being diagnosed by Dr. Sta Maria]
Dr. Sta Maria: Good Afternoon Mr. Rivera, I am here to tell you the results of the test...Please stay calm.
Emilio: Okay then...
Dr. Sta Maria: Mr. Rivera, you have Alzheimer's disease.
Emilio: [Extremely shocked expression]

Emilio: Joaquin! Jesus Christ I could've had a heart attack! We're old now, we're not teenagers anymore!
Joaquin: Yeah yeah but what about cards?
Emilio: That's more important?! *sighs* Yeah sure why not.
[Joaquin and Emilio play cards for a little bit]
Joaquin: Hey, is something bothering you lately?
Emilio: How can you say so?
Joaquin: Emilio, I literally knew you since we were toddlers, I can tell when my friend is not okay, so what is it?
[Joaquin takes a sip of water]
Emilio: I have Alzheimer's disease.
Joaquin: *SPITS OUT WATER* WHAT?!
Emilio: I have Alzheimer's disease.
Joaquin: NO, I HEARD YOU THE FIRST TIME BUT HOW ARE YOU SO CALM ABOUT THIS?!
Emilio: Don't tell my children okay? I don't want them to worry about me
Joaquin: Are you sure about this?
Emilio: They'll find out about it either way, I want to be the one to tell them.

Sequence 8 [Emilio calling Julio], (House and Julio’s office)

[Emilio is dialing Julio's number]
Emilio: Julio, do you have any free time right now?
Julio: Papa, sorry but I am really busy right now, just call again later.
Emilio: Bu-
[phone hangs up]

Sequence 8.1 [Teodora asking her husband for her to come home after Emilio called her], (Teodora’s house)
[Emilio is dialing Teodora's number]
Emilio: Teodora dear, how are you?
Teodora: I'm fine, anyways why did you call?
Emilio: I was wondering if you can come home?
Teodora: Pa, sorry but i'm really busy right now, I-
Andre: Teo! A client is calling for you!
Teodora: Oh! Coming! sorry pa i'll just call you later.
[Phone hangs up]
[Teodora looks in calendar]
Teodora: Oh! Papa's birthday is near! maybe that’s why he called?
[Andre Walks in]
Teodora: Andre! perfect timing! Can I go visit Papa?
Andre: What? why?
Teodora: What do you mean why? His birthday is coming up!
Andre: But what about your work?
Teodora: I'll just call my boss and take a day off
Andre: But it takes 15 hours to travel to Philippines!
Teodora: ITS FINE, I DON'T GET WHY YOU'RE SO AGAINST THIS
[Alexandra walks in]
Teodora: Alexandra, perfect timing! Is it okay if I go visit lolo?
Alexandra: Sure!!
Teodora: See? Even your daughter agrees!
Andre: But-
Teodora: No buts, its two against one what can you do?
Andre: *Grunts*
Dear I know you're worried about me but its fine, its just a visit. Pleaaasseeeeee?
Andre: *SIGH* Fine but only for a week
Teodora: Yes! Thank you! Alexandra be a good girl okay?
Alexandra: Ehh? why can't I go as well?
Teodora: You still have school to attend, I can't risk your grades dropping
Alexandra: But I wanna goooo!
Teodora: You can't skip school! You'll just come with me when your vacation starts okay? Be patient.

Teodora: You need to take care of your dad while i'm away okay?

Sequence 8.2 [Julio is very stressed out and he got a call from Teodora], (Office)
Julio: UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH THE WORK NEVER ENDS!
[Teodora calling Julio]
Julio: What's up sis?
Teodora: Hey we're gonna go home by tomorrow to celebrate Papa's birthday
Julio: PAPA'S BIRTHDAY IS NEAR?!
Teodora: Dude you seriously need to take breaks, you're so focused on work that you can't even spend a
second to look at a calendar.
Julio: Fine fine. I’ll visit him, stop scolding me geez

Sequence 8.3 and 9 [Emilio on his way to the Memorial Park] , (House)
[Fatima and Emilio are eating at the Dining table)
Fatima: Papa are you done eating? Where are you going?
Emilio: I need to go see Gabriela
Fatima: Again? You just went yesterday.
Emilio: Don't worry, it'll be quick.
Fatima: Okay, be careful!
Emilio: Don't worry, I’m already old enough to know how to take care of myself

Sequence 10 and 10.1 [Arrival of Teodora and Julio, and Argument between the siblings], ( In Front of the
House)
[Fatima walks outside to see Teodora and Julio]
Fatima: Teodora! Julio! I wasn't aware that you would be visiting today
Teodora: So you're basically saying that we shouldn’t have come?
Fatima: N-No! I'm just shocked that you were suddenly visiting papa
Julio: And just how does that concern you? Mind your own business this is a family matter
Fatima: W-wha-
Teodora: Just stop your acting already! You're probably just staying with papa so that you can steal our
money!
Fatima: CAN YOU STOP ACCUSING ME OF THEFT WHEN YOU CAN'T EVEN MAKE TIME TO VISIT YOUR OWN
FATHER!
Julio: WHAT DID YOU SAY YOU BASTARD?!
[INCOMPREHENSIBLE SHOUTING]

Sequence 10.2 [Joaquin stops the argument], (In front of gate)

Joaquin: Can you three stop fighting whenever you see each other?!
Do you even know the condition your father is in right now?!
Fatima, Teodora and Julio: Papa's condition?
Joaquin: Finally, you stopped fighting
Julio: WHAT DO YOU MEAN PAPA'S CONDITION? WHAT HAPPENED TO HIM?!
Joaquin: Just stay calm first.

Sequence 10.3 [Joaquin reveals Emilio’s condition / Emilio tells his condition to his wife], (Inside of house
and Memorial Park)
Emilio: Hello again Gabriela. You're probably wondering why am I visiting today when I just did yesterday. Well
you see I need to tell you something. Yesterday I went to the doctor and apparently, I have-

Joaquin: Your father has-
Emilio and Joaquin: Alzheimer's disease
[Fatima, Teodora and Julio are shocked]

Sequence 11 [Emilio goes home], (Memorial Park and House)

Emilio: Gabriela, what do I do? I don't want to forget. I promised I won't forget...
[Emilio went home and opened the door]
Emilio: Fatima, i'm hom-
[They suddenly hug Emilio and cry their eyes out]
Emilio: Julio?! Teodora?! What are you doing here?!
[Emilio looks on Joaquin]
Emilio: Did you told them?
Joaquin: Sorry, my mouth slipped
Emilio: Its fine, they would've found out either way
Julio: Papa we're so sorry
Teodora: We should've visited more often
Fatima: I should've paid more attention to taking care of you
Emilio: None of this is your fault, don't worry I won't forget, no matter what.

[Several weeks passed and Emilio and everyone has been bonding more recently and they became happier]

Sequence 11.2 [The siblings are planning what to do with Emilio’s condition], (House)
Teodora: His condition is getting worse...
Julio: We need to get him to a doctor.
Teodora: That means we need to hire a family doctor
Julio: Yeah I agree, it might be too dangerous for papa to go outside
Fatima: A personal doctor would do then
Teodora: I know a friend maybe she could help. I'll go look for her today.
Julio: I need to go to work today or else we won't be able to pay for the doctor.
Julio: Then its decided, both of us will be out today so take care of papa Fatima.
Fatima: Okay then.

Sequence 11.3 [Teodora and Julio leaves], (House)

Teodora: Fatima were going out now! Take care of papa!
Julio: Remember to lock the doors after we're out.
Fatima: Okay!

Sequence 11.4 [Fatima is tired], (House)

Fatima: I should read a book or something while they're gone
Fatima: For the past few days I always stayed up late to take care of papa
Fatima: I shouldn't sleep, papa ne*yawn*eds me-

[Emilio wanders around the house and went outside]

Sequence 11.5 (Emilio forgets), (outside/ Streets)

Emilio: No no no no no no NOO!
I'M FORGETTING AGAIN! I CAN'T FORGET! I PROMISED!
[Emilio walks around frantically]
Emilio: GABRIELA! GABRIELA! GABRIELA! GABRIELA! I won't forget, I WON'T FORGET!
GABRIE-...why.. am I shouting "Gabriela"..?

Sequence 12 [Fatima looks for Emilio], (House)

[Family picture frame falls and breaks]

Fatima: Papa...? *gasp* PAPA! PAPA! PAPA! [LOOKS FOR EMILIO IN THE HOUSE]
Teodora and Julio: Fatima! We're home! How's-
Fatima: HELP! PAPA.. I CAN'T FIND HIM!
Julio: WHAT?! WHERE DID HE GO?!
Fatima: I DON'T KNOW!
Teodora: HOW COULD YOU LET THIS HAPPEN? WE TRUSTED YOU!
Julio: WE SHOULDN'T HAVE LEFT HIM ALONE WITH YOU! WHAT IF SOMETHING HAPPENED TO HIM?!
[Teodora's phone rings and she picks it up]
[Teodora drops her phone with a shocked expression]
Teodora: P-p-papa h-he got in an accident!!

Sequence 13 [Emilio is dead ], (Hospital)

[the three of them went to the hospital]
Fatima: WE'RE HERE FOR MR. EMILIO RIVERA!
Nurse: Are you the relatives of Mr. Rivera?
Julio: Yes, where is Papa?!
Nurse: I'm very sorry but he's...
Fatima: no...no no no no!
Nurse: My condolences, I’m very sorry for your loss... [nurse then leaves]
Fatima: This is all my fault! If I didn't sleep then he would have-
Fatima: I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry
Teodora: Fatima stop. this is also our fault as well
Julio: BUT IF SHE DIDN'T-
Teodora: JULIO JUST STOP IT OKAY! NO MATTER HOW MUCH YOU BLAME A PERSON THE DEAD WON'T COME

Julio: ...why? Why did we even fought in the first place? We should've made him feel that we loved him
when he was still alive! WE SHOULD HAVE VISITED HIM MORE OFTEN! WE SHOULD'VE CHERISHED HIM MORE!
Julio: Dammit... Why do we only realize our mistakes when everything's too late?
Fatima: "You don't know what you have until it's gone."
Teodora: Fatima, i'm sorry I was always mean to you
Julio: I'm sorry as well, despite being siblings we always stupidly fought
Fatima: We're Family so we should have treated each other better, i'm sorry too
[Teodora, Julio, and Fatima Hugs each other]

Sequence 14 {ENDING} [A Promise kept], (Memorial Park)

[Teodora, Julio, and Fatima are visiting Gabriela and Emilio's Graves]
[Fatima gives candles / flowers to the grave]
Fatima: It’s been a while hasn't it? Mama, Papa.
Fatima: It’s been 3 years since you left this world papa
I hope you two are really happy up there
Oh, and guess what? We kept the promise you two made. Since you couldn't do it anymore, it’s up to us to
continue it right?
We promise, we won't forget.
