Internet has become part of our lives.

We use it in many purposes such as for

education, business, professional work, and etc. We use it in school, work place, and

anywhere we go ICT is our biggest asset today because, ICT nowadays plays a major

part of our everyday lives. And thus it change the system of our live, it change the way

we live and, it makes the world smaller. Through ICT our lives become easier and faster.

ICT has a great impact in every individual, in our society , and in our chosen

professional tracks.

ICT is one of the important way to revolutionize the way we communicate with

each other and, it is really important today to know and to engage with ICT. Knowing the

fact that the world revolve with new advance technology and faster internet connection

and we are living in the 21st century were people cannot live without it. ICT or

Information and Communication Technology is an umbrella term that includes any

communication device or application, encompassing: radio, television, cellular phones,

computer and network hardware and software, satellite systems and so on, as well as

various services and application associated with them, such as video conferencing and

distance learning.

The impact of computer technology nowadays in the context of our lives is, it can

see the way we live as individual in our society or community and, it is undeniable that

social media is part of our lives especially here in the Philippines. Millions of social

media users cannot resist even in one day to do not post any status update in facebook,

twitter or in instagram on how there day or lives goes on . The reason behind it is, we let

social media rule over us and we let it become our habit. Yes, facebook help us to

reconnect with our old family members and friends in or out in our country and twittering
can share and give information to the person that you don't normally send an Email.

And through different online media platforms we can easily communicate through

message, video chat, calls and so on. But we need to use it wisely in order for it not to

rule over us.

ICT has become part of us, we woke up in bed and start our day accessing to

internet, for us not to left behind by the modernization of the world and also to be

updated what are the trends and current issue in our society and across the globe. ICT

is part of our daily activities and it is part of our family. It provides fresh information,

current events, entertainment , economic opportunities and social relations. There are a

lot of things that ICT contributes and help us as a human being. In some cases parents

who work abroad use it to monitor their children even if they are far from them . It helps

them to assure their children's safety, so that they will work there without worry.

Social media is become prominent part of young people like me. Most teenagers

engaging social media without stopping to think what are the effects, whether it's

positive or negative. Is it good? Both of them have a positive and negative impact to the

user. Social media will be good if we use it properly and social media will be bad if we

use it for popularity. So we must use it in a more responsible way.

ICT has a great impact to our society or in our community. The transaction

become easy fast, and reliable, like transferring money , sending message, delivery of

service and, even for emergency purposes it helps for faster response and rescue by

providing warning or signals in case if there are disasters and calamities in our society.

It helps to insure our safety and the safety of our society or community. ICT is indeed
fantastic because, there are a lot of new advance airplanes, ships, vehicles, and other

form of transportation for emergency purposes and, for immediate response to people

who are victims of disasters or calamities. Technology also change the economy

because, ICT brings a lot of advantages in developing millions of transactions and,

finish it an easy and faster way. And also ICT helps people in performing their jobs

easily. Through machines and new gadgets it can lessen the overloaded paper woks of

the job employers.

Technology improves our environment and, in terms of methods in making

houses and buildings and, in terms of methods of agriculture and fishery, ICT helps our

society to improve in a safe and more productive way. Building, architecture, roads etc.,

it will change and it improve through the presence of technology.

ICT gives a positive outcome to my chosen professional track which is the

Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics or (STEM). It helps me to gather

reliable information through google scholar, etc. to answer my assignments and to

comply my projects and performance task. Through ICT it gives me a knowledgeable

information and skills related to my chosen professional track. It helps me to explore

and discover new things I don't know. Such as making new technology in our

Empowerment Technology subject, gathering data and information during our laboratory

experiments about physics, chemistry and biology. It helps me to learn new things such

as how to gather data in our practical research 1 and how to edit pictures using

photoshop in our Empowerment Technology subject.

other language proficiency. Philosophical thoughts and scientific evidences and

information can obtained from reliable sources and authors. And it also help me to study

if I don't understand the lesson. The utilization of Gmail and MS office tools like MS

Word and MS Excel is being utilize in our schools and it is a big help for those students

who don’ know anything about ICT. The integration of ICT in the Senior High School

program molded the student to be well guarded and equipped from the continuous

evolution of technology. As a STEM student who want to be an Engineer someday, ICT

will help me to become the best version of myself since my chosen professional track is

revolving around technology. And honestly even I myself born in 21st century

generation , I am lacking of knowledge about how to deal with technology. Including

how to use MS Excel, how to edit pictures and videos in Adobe and Photoshop and so

on.

To summarize it all ICT is a great tool for the advancement of the world. It gives

people an easy access to computer and other media platforms. It makes people more

wealthy and powerful. But always remember everything has it’s limits. Technology can

help us and also technology can destruct us. Don’t settle only in it’s positive overview

but also look it’s negative effect. It is indeed helpful yet it is also destructive to our lives.

So we must use it in a more responsible way, use it in a good way. Use it to help others

not to destruct others.
