REGULATIONS
COMPETITORS
The Competition is open to all percussionists, without distinction of nationality.
ORGANIZER
The Competition is organized by Saint-Petersburg State University of Culture.
TITLE PARTNER
The Title Partner of the Competition is “DRUMTIME” Drum Show (St. Petersburg).
LOCATION
The Competition will take place at Saint-Petersburg State University of Culture
(Dvortsovaya embankment, 2-4).
MAIN EVENTS
● International Percussion Competition;
● Days of Percussion Festival;
● Concerts and master classes;
● Exhibition of drums and percussion instruments, accessories, scores.
CATEGORIES
1. MARIMBA (2 rounds);
2. VIBRAPHONE (2 rounds);
3. ORCHESTRAL PERCUSSION (2 rounds);
4. SMALL ENSEMBLE (Duet, Trio, Quartet; 1 round).
AGE GROUPS
A (up to 15);
B (16-19);
C (20-29).
REPERTOIRE
1. MARIMBA (2 rounds)
Age group A (up to 15):
I round: Two diverse pieces (one of them – 4-mallet solo):
1) Compulsory piece: M. Ford – one piece from the list:
#MarimbaBaby (Col., one piece of the participant’s own choice);
Marimba: Technique Through Music (Col., one piece of the participant’s own choice);
2) Piece of the participant’s own choice.
Duration – maximum 8 minutes.
II round: One piece of the participant’s own choice (4-mallet solo).
Duration – maximum 6 minutes.
2. VIBRAPHONE (2 rounds)
Age group A (up to 15):
I round: Two diverse pieces of the participant’s own choice, one of them – 4-mallet solo.
Duration – maximum 8 minutes.
II round: One piece of the participant’s own choice (4-mallet solo).
Duration – maximum 6 minutes.
Age group B (16-19): 2 stylistically diverse pieces of the participant’s own choice (mallet
percussion should be used at least in one piece).
Duration – maximum 12 minutes.
Age group CD (20-29): 2 stylistically diverse pieces of the participant’s own choice (mallet
percussion should be used at least in one piece).
Duration – maximum 15 minutes.
JURY
International Jury will be composed of well-known percussionists, educators and
performers.
AWARDS
The winners of the Competition will be awarded with the Laureate Diplomas of the
International Competition.
International Jury and Organizing Committee have the right to establish additional prizes for
the winners and to award the teachers with the special Diplomas.
The Competition winners can be awarded with memorable prizes and presents from the
Official Partners of the Competition.
REGISTRATION FEE
The registration fee:
- for solo category: €50 (for participation in one category);
- for ensemble category: €35 (for one person);
- for the second solo category: €25 (each competitor can participate in two solo and one
ensemble categories).

ACCOMMODATION
Accommodation in the House of Student of Saint-Petersburg State University of Culture is
available (participants are expected to cover their accommodation). Write in the application
form if reservation is needed.
