wooden carve. It has many bridges where the strings are raised.

We have several Muslim Ethnic group in Mindanao namely the Maranao, Maguindanao, Tausug, Yakan, Samal,
Javal, Mapun, and Badjao. These ethnic groups perform dances depicting their everyday lives. The movements are
characterized by a stiff but languid grace of the fingers to express feelings and emotions.
TRANSFER:

1. Draw from the students the basic steps of the dances and instruct them to write the step-pattern, counting,
and the dance terms used. This is also the time that they listen to the music of the dances and
discover the underlying beat,counting, and time signature.
Subli dance steps: Kumintang, hayon-hayon, hands on waist, clockwise,
counterclockwise, and bilao
Sua-sua dance steps: walking and pivoting
Dance terms: Arms in 4th position, arms in 2nd position, clockwise, counterclockwise,
stamp, arms in reverse T-position
2. Instruct the students to analyze and interpret the step-pattern and counting of the basic steps of the dances
Subli and Sua-sua.
PERFORMANCE STANDARD: The learner will consistently demonstrate skills that promote mental health.
LEARNING COMPETENCY:
1. The learner explaining the factors that affect the promotion of goof mental health.
2. The learner identifying the common stressors that affect the adolescents.
3. The learner differentiating healthful from unhealthful strategies in coping with stress.

LESSON INTRODUCTION:
Our most precious natural resources as individuals and as a nation is our health. When we talk about personal
health, it is not just about a healthy body but also sound mental health. It is the condition where our body as well our mind
is functioning properly. Good mental health allows us to live longer, achieve more, have a better family life, more friends,
and contribute to a safer and more productive society.
The advancement in technology has various effects on us especially the younger generation. The introduction of new
technologies broaden individual and group interaction and create learning relationship for engaging youth which have not
been possible before. Education is enhanced through various media, interfaces with students, having easy access to
information, and having the ability to collaborate and exchange ideas online.

Have you ever felt stressed and under pressure as an adolescent? Life nowadays is getting complex and demands
certain coping skills and capabilities from teenagers. These pressures cannot be avoided and worrying about them is
normal. However, worrying too much and prolonged feelings of sadness, hopelessness, and worthlessness could be signs
of a mental health problem. And mental health problems are real and painful.
In school, students are expected to excel in their studies and experience pressure from their peers. They try to fit and
belong to a certain group. They are expected to be responsible daughters or sons. They should be role models to younger
siblings and they start to make decisions in life. These expectations put the teenagers under stress as they cope with the
expectations of their family, school, and community.
