Maintaining SCRUMstudy certifications

SCRUMstudy certified professionals need to participate in continuous learning activities to earn Re-
Certification Units (RCUs) to maintain their credential. SCRUMstudy Authorized Training Partners can
conduct courses or events that would help students earn RCUs.

Every certification requires the certified professional to earn a minimum number of RCUs every
three years. To know the requirements for each certification, visit the specific certification pages to
know more.

Scrum Developer Certification (SDC™)

Scrum Master Certification (SMC™)

SCRUMstudy Agile Master Certification (SAMC™)

Scrum Product Owner Certification (SPOC™)

Expert Scrum Master Certification (ESMC™)

What are RCUs?

After earning their certification, credential holders should adhere to SCRUMstudy's continuing
certification requirements. Student may need to participate in continuous learning activities to earn
Re-Certification Units (RCUs) to maintain his/her credential. Students can purchase these courses
and claim for RCUs from the student portal. Some activities which can help you earn RCUs are
attending SCRUMstudy authorized events and activities; and taking approved Re-Certification
courses from VMEdu A.T.P.s

How do students get RCU Certificate?

Once the student claims and it is approved by the ATP, then the student can download the RCU
certificate from the student portal itself.

What are the validity of RCUs?

An example: Student originally gave SMC exam. The SMC certificate is valid for 3 years. Within that 3
years, if student takes either a VMEdu RCU Course (say: SPOC exam, in which case the SPOC RCUs
will automatically be applied to all previous certifications like SMC in this example) or any ATP RCU
course, then student can claim those RCUs from the student portal. Once student claims RCUs for
the ATP course taken, ATP will get notified and ATP needs to approve the same. Once approved,
RCUs will be awarded to student and that can be used to apply to all previous certifications. So, in
this case RCUs got by taking the ATP RCU course can be applied to maintain the SMC certification.
Basically, if student takes a VMEdu RCU course, then the RCUs received is automatically applied to
previous all SCRUMstudy certifications taken. Alternatively, if student takes an ATP RCU course, then
student needs to manually file to claim the RCUs.

Which courses will offer RCUs?

Kindly check these links: https://www.scrumstudy.com/certification/maintaining-certification and

https://vmedu.com/Home/RCU-Courses

How can I check my current certificates?

Students can check their certificates from the online course login itself under “View My Certificates”

What are the benefits of RCUs?

Earning a SCRUMstudy certification is a significant achievement. It demonstrates your expertise and

knowledge of Scrum and Agile. After earning the certification, credential holders should adhere to
SCRUMstudy's continuing certification requirements. You may need to participate in continuous
learning activities to earn Re-Certification Units (RCUs) to maintain your credential(s). Every
certification requires you to earn a minimum number of RCUs every three years.

RCUs get automatically applied if student has taken a VMEdu RCU course. On the other hand, if
student has taken an ATP RCU course, please find below the steps on how a student can file and
claim RCUs.
