STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

I am very thankful for providing me this opportunity and it is with sincere sense of
gratification that I pen my brief statement of purpose. After carefully weighing the
various career options open to me I have decided to pursue P.hd. in information Science
& technology. The desire to probe into the depths of information science Engineering
and to contribute to the field of research and development has always been a perennial
vision of computer science. This has motivated me in identifying a career of research in
computer science Enginering. In the long run, I wish to carve out a niche for myself in
this field.

From my school days I had an urge to know beyond what is evident, and this
made me study more than what the syllabi demanded. The impulse and the challenge in
problem solving and acquiring knowledge about new scientific concepts formed the most
vital part of my schooling in D.A.V. High School. My schooling revealed my keen
interest for Mathematics and Sciences, and my unvarying academic performances in
securing 55% in my 10th standard and 51% in 12th Standard instilled confidence about my
capabilities. The concurrency of these influences had been put an assertion of the
growing interest within me to become an engineer.

I embarked a major step towards realizing my ambition, choosing mathematics,


physics and chemistry as my core subjects, in my high school. By the virtue of my good
performance in Engineering, UPTU Common Entrance Test, a competitive examination
conducted in our state of Uttar Pradesh, India. I gained admission into the IT stream in
Sir Chottu Ram Engineering College, a premier engineering institution in Notth India,
affiliated to the Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU).

Given my deep-rooted interests, engineering with Information Technology major,


was the indubitable choice for my undergraduate studies. The course in essence, as on my
analytical and problem solving skills has imbibed in me a profound understanding of
fundamentals of Information Technology.

During my freshman and sophomore years, a series of courses in Mathematics,


Physics and Chemistry re-introduced me to these subjects, but now with a fresh
Engineering outlook. My involvement grew deeper when I did courses, which subsumed
the concepts of Programming C, Fundamental of Computer, Data Structure, Database
Management System, Theory of Computing, Design Analysis and Algorithm, Computer
Network, Mobile Computing.

I feel that my undergraduate course gave me a good taste of the subject but not
fullest satisfaction of savoring it. I see myself a career in research. Only research offers
one the opportunity to be a pioneer and thrill of being at the very fore frontiers of
knowledge in one's chosen field. I am convinced that no other profession offers the
creative satisfaction and the intellectual freedom that a research profession offers.
Keeping up an inquisitive and explorative attitude, I believe, It leads to a constant
learning process. This approach adds to the already immense potential for innovation that
exists in this field.

As i have completed my Bachelor studies iInformation Technology. I


have completed my final year project on LIBRARY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM,
keeing in mind the fact that Effective and timely data transfer has now become a must for
any organization to run smoothly. In fact, communication has become backbone of all
sectors Universities .

we have an extremely distinguished faculty, a milieu replete with academic


activity, and a graduate program which blends with high quality course work are the
factors which have motivated me to choose your university for graduate studies. In
conclusion, I would like to add that the essence of University education lies in the
synergetic relationship between the student and his department. I feel that graduate study
at your university will be the most logical extension of my academic pursuits and a major
step towards achieving my objectives. I believe the program offered will help me acquire
the versatility needed to reach my full potential as an engineer. I would be grateful to you
if I were accorded the opportunity to pursue my graduate studies with financial assistance
at your institution and am able to justify your faith in me. I hope that you will find in me
a deserving and creditable student for your renowned University.
