PROJECTS UNDERTAKEN
No. Project Outline and duration Organization
Please share details of one of these projects, which you think, was the best – major learnings
from the project, recommendations made, recommendations accepted and implemented as
well as those not implemented.
Major Learnings and Recommendations:
• Conducted Primary and secondary research (4 in person interviews, 3 telephonic interviews,15+ industry
reports)
• Ascertained 3 models each of operations and last mile delivery along with best practices across industry
• Discovered 7 bottlenecks faced by last mile delivery industry along with possible solutions basis secondary
research
• Gathered data via primary research on 23 key indicators of last mile delivery for 4 key players in logistics
space
While I am not aware the extent of how the recommendations I gave were implemented, it was truly a
different experience actually going out with no support and context and gathering information. It was quite
difficult yet interesting one and half months which gave me a flavor of how consulting as a industry functions
and also gave me immense confidence that I was able to do something I was not at all comfortable doing at
the time.

ABOUT YOURSELF
1. What types of assignments/projects, done by you, have kept you engaged and what are
those that did not excite you?
Assignments and Projects which have had scope beyond what I know and am comfortable with, have always
challenged me and been source of great learning. Consequently, I yearn for such opportunities as they push
me out of my comfort zone and are highly engaging to me. To quote a few examples: Being the placement
coordinator for my batch, taking up ownership for 4 countries (emerging markets) and being put in-charge of
one of the larger accounts in my function, have been very enriching experiences.
Projects which are monotonous and are very mechanical in nature are not always the most exciting to me. As
part of my job, I have had to take on such projects and assignments which were repetitive in nature. While I
never faltered with the same, it helps having complex and new problems to solve to mix with these routine
tasks to ensure I learn something new on a regular basis.
2. Describe an incident that has had a deep impact on you and brought about a significant
change?
One of the more challenging times in my life was when I decided to pursue Sales in my Past Organization
Inmobi. Taking a sudden opportunity, I found myself in a matter of few weeks moving from the Plush AC
headquarters to a Sales Office 30Kms from my place of residence. Having almost no prior experience in Sales
for the first 3 months I tried everything. Right from sitting for whole days at Client receptions to shadowing
every colleague for their meetings, I built rapport and confidence. This would later enable me to take charge
as the account owner of the HUL account and help scale it near 3x in the short 5 months before I joined
XLRI. The uncertainty of sales, the level of ownership and responsibility which I was entrusted with and the
long travels to and fro have given me the resolve to push myself out of my comfort zone. I am now hungry for
my next challenge which will help me achieve something I thought I couldn’t do, something which will push me
further and leave me richer in knowledge and experience.
3. Why would you like to do a project with the ITC Group and how do you think you can
add value to ITC and to yourself?
Having come from an organization where I grew rapidly across functions and took ownership for all the
responsibilities which were offered to me, I see ITC as a natural progression to continue this progression. ITC
by virtue of its size and legacy would help me gain access to much larger and complex problems which will
push me beyond the realms of what I know and am comfortable with.
I also believe that while ITC lets me take on these problems with support from some of the best minds in the
industry, it will allow me the freedom to drive solutions which are of my own making. The freedom with the
responsibility which are on offer are some of the reasons I would love to work for ITC.
Having some background in advertising, data driven marketing and the latest trends in the Mobile Ad tech
space, I believe I could bring some of this knowledge to bear in the tasks ITC would entrust on me. In
addition to high levels of ownership and responsibility, I would also strive to always give my 100% while
attempting to solve complex business problems. In the eventuality I am unable to find satisfactory results in
my personal capacity, I will tap into my personal network of ex colleagues, Alumni and batchmates from the
premier institutes I have studied in and many friends I have made along the way.
Having gained suitable exposure and understanding of how consumers perceive various products, I would like
to assume responsibility of a major brand and if possible, a category. I would want to drive strategy and have
ownership for the whole business end to end to make decisions where I can influence the penetration,
perception and place in the consumers minds and lives. This position would ultimately help gain the insights
and knowledge to perhaps lead the brand across Geographies or assume a high-level management position at
the company.
