Lesson Plan For Wednesday Observation-1st Quarter
Lesson Plan For Wednesday Observation-1st Quarter
Day 1
I. Objectives:
1. Identify the parts of the male/female reproductive system;
2. Describe the structure of each part of the male/female reproductive system;(S5LT-IIa-1)
3. Trace the path of the sperm cell as it travels outside the male reproductive organ;
4. Trace the path of the egg cell from the ovary to the uterus;
5. Appreciate the importance of each part of the male & female reproductive system through
oral participation.
II. Subject Matter:
Introduction to Male & Female Reproductive System
A. Materials
Illustration of the Male & Female Reproductive System
Human Torso
Video clip on Human Reproductive System
Powerpoint presentation
B. References
CG p. 30
Science Spectrum 5 pp.2-3
C. Process Skills
Observing, Describing, Predicting, Inferring
D. Values Integration
Show appreciation on the function of each part of the reproductive system.
III. Learning Tasks:
A. Engagement
1. Review
Recall what the pupils have learned about the previous lesson by doing the activity.
Using the trash bins below, place the waste (meta cards) to the respective bins they
belong.
2. Motivation
The teacher will tell the pupils that they will be having an activity. The teacher will place
cut picture/puzzle picture of a new born baby under the armchairs of the pupils. The
pupils who got the cut pictures will assemble it on the board.
Then, the teacher will ask the following questions:
What picture have you assembled?
Have you ever wondered how a new human being develops inside the female body?
What do you think is the relation of this picture to our topic today?
The teacher will then tell the pupils that they will find out how the life starts out as a
fertilized cell. The teacher will also tell the pupils that the cell is the result of the union of
the male and female sex cells.
Then the teacher will introduce the lesson for the day.
B. Exploration
Activity Proper
1. Show a video clip about the Male/Female Reproductive System.
2. After watching the video, the teacher will tell the pupils that they will be having a game.
3. The teacher will provide instruction in doing the activity (allotted time for the activity,
group presenter/member’s role/responsibility, precautionary measures to take, etc.)
4. The teacher will group the class into two. Each group will be given illustrations of the
male and female reproductive systems. The group will also be given a set of name cards
of the parts of female and male reproductive organs. Based on the video watched, the
pupils will find the parts in each of the given illustrations. The first group to correctly sort
them out will be the winner.
C. Explanations
1. Ask the group presenters to post their output. Have the group representative present the
results of the activity. Three (3) minutes may be allotted per group presentation.
2. Check the pupil’s responses to the activity.
3. Ask the following questions to the pupils:
What are the male parts?
What cell is produced?
Where does it produced?
Describe the cell inside the male reproductive system.
What are the major female reproductive organs?
What are estrogen and progesterone? What do they do?
How important these parts to the female reproductive system?
4. The teacher will give worksheets to the pupils. Let the pupils trace the path of the sperm
cell as it travels outside the male reproductive organ and let them trace also the path of
the egg cell as it travels from the ovary going to the uterus.
5. Ask some volunteer from the class to trace on the illustration posted on the board the
path of the sperm and egg cell by drawing arrows to indicate the direction.
6. The teacher will then discuss further the topic for deeper understanding of the pupils.
7. Clarify misconceptions when needed.
D. Elaboration
1. Have the pupils formulate generalization by asking:
How does the male/female reproductive system works?
2. Let the pupils describe the structure of each part of the male and female reproductive
system by asking the question below:
If you will observe the illustration of the male/female reproductive organs, how will
you describe its structure?
3. The teacher will show a picture to the class.
4. Ask the following questions to the pupils:
What can you say about the picture?
What will happen if some parts of male and female reproductive organs will not
function or work well?
How are you going to practice the proper hygiene to care of your reproductive
organs?
E. Evaluation
Answer the following questions below. Write the letter of the correct answer.

D. It is a pair of pea-sized glands.
2. The Vas deferens plays an important role in the male reproductive system. Which of the
following BEST describes vas deferens?
A. It transports mature sperm to urethra
B. It helps nourish the sperm.
C. It is storage of sperm.
D. It produces sperm.
3. Which of the following statement is TRUE about ovary?
