LESSON PROPER

Today, well going to talk about this

group of stars and why they’re so
important to astronomers.

So what exactly is a Constellation? Ma’am, constellation are a cluster of stars

in the sky that are grouped together in

videos?

Very good! You saw a lots of stars.

Do you think you can memories all of it?
No right.

That’s why astronomer’s use

constellation to help them better map the

It is also the same to the constellation. Yes maam

I have here an example of a Big Dipper!!!

Yes, but I for some reason they

called it big dipper because they brought
it looks like a bear and if you live at the
northern sphere you can easily spot the
big dipper .Other thought it looks like a
spoon or a kite.

It means that constellation looks

different to different people.

Next, is the Orion

Orion is very popular and easily to spot
because of its 3 stars or its belts.

I have here a short story,,

Once Orion is known as a known

as a great hunter but I one day he Bragg
that he could kill and animals he likes to
kill on earth but Gaea/ the mother of all
creation got angry then one day he ask
Scorpio to kill Orion but Scorpio could
not kill Orion easily. Since Orion is a
hunter, but I then one day when the two
died Zues the king of the Gods put them
into the night sky.

Next is Cassiopeia- referring to the

Egyptian Queen

Cepheus, husband of Cassiopeia

Draco found near the North Pole and

beneath the Ursa Minor.

IV. Group Activity

Asking what is the constellation.

So what exactly is a Constellation? Ma’am, constellation are a cluster of stars in the

sky that are grouped together in particular
pattern. And have been given a name next to the
mythical stories, legends, Greek’s, heroes and
animals.

Engage
To begin this activity, students will be asked to recall their previous knowledge about constellations.
(Showing a video clip about Stars and its constellation.)

Explore
(Allowing pupils to look at the sky, then they will say of what they observe)
People throughout history and all over the world have looked into the sky and tried to
connect the stars into figures. In this portion of the lesson, the students will each learn
about one figure that was identified by members of different African cultures and the
mythology around that figure.
The teacher will divide the class either into 4 groups or groups of 4.
Give each group a different mythological story (see the Myths handouts in the supplemental
materials). Give the students a few minutes to read their story and then discuss it within the group.

Explain
The students will retell the stories that they read for the rest of the class. They will identify the constellation on the sky
for the rest of the class.
I have here a short story,,

Once Orion is known as a known as a great hunter but I one day he Bragg that he could kill
and animals he likes to kill on earth but Gaea/ the mother of all creation got angry then one day he

Elaborate
Students are often taught about history and science from a Eurocentric point of view. It is important to discuss global
points of view and understand the commonalities between people across the globe. By discussing the different views
and interpretations of the skies students can see that there are different ways of looking at things and that people all
over the world have wondered about the cosmos throughout history.

Evaluation
Identity what is being described in the given items below.
