Nutritional Therapy
What is it?
Nutritional therapy combines science (biochemistry and nutrition) with naturopathy (natural,
drug-free medicine) in order to return the patient to a state of good health. Nutritional therapy is
holistic because it is designed to treat the body as a whole - curing the causes of problems, not
just the symptoms as is too often the case in conventional medicine. In addition scientists as well
as mystics agree that there is an energetic aspect to life. Disturbances in the energy fields lead to
illness, and flower essences and homoeopathy assist recovery. Spagyric essences are unique in
combining homoeopathy, aromatherapy, phytotherapy and mineral therapy.
Vegetarianism
What is vegetarianism?
Vegetarianism is the practice of following a plant-based diet including fruits, vegetables, cereal
grains, nuts, and seeds, mushrooms, with or without dairy products and eggs. A vegetarian does
not eat meat, including red meat, game, poultry, fish, crustacea, and shellfish, and may also
abstain from by-products of animal slaughter such as animal-derivedrennet and gelatin. As some
cheeses containing rennet, and gelatin-derived products, contain unfamiliar animal ingredients,
however, these products may unknowingly be consumed by vegetarians.
To teach our children the sanctity of life and the true value of every living being, and to promote
peace in them.
Is Chocolate Vegan?
Chocolate itself comes from a plant, making it vegan, yes, but in the process of going from the
tree to the grocery store, a variety of additives are added, including sugar and milk or milkfat. A
good quality chocolate, however, will have a higher chocolate content, pure ingredients and no
additives. The ingredients will be simple: cocoa, cocoa butter, lecithin, sugar and sometimes
vanilla. And that's it. Lesser quality chocolates have a long ingredients list, which, along with
cheap fillers such as food starch and artificial flavorings, will often contain milk, milk solids or
milk fat.
In a cake, for example, the eggs serve as a leavening agent, helping to make the cake light and
fluffy. In baked goods such as cookies and muffins, the eggs add moisture and act as a binder,
gluing all the other ingredients together. And, if you're looking to substitute eggs in aquiche or a
mayonnaise, where eggs are central to the finished product, you'll probably need something
like tofu to mimic the consistency of the eggs, while making other adjustments to the recipe as
well to add flavor and body.
As a general rule, the fewer eggs a recipe calls for, the easier they will be to substitute. So, if
a cookie recipe calls for one egg, using an egg substitute will work much better than in a recipe
that requires three or four eggs. Also consider how the substitute will affect the overall taste of
the finished dish. Bananas, for example, may add a welcome hint of fruity sweetness to pancakes
and cookies, but if you are making a casserole or another savory dish, you will want to use
something else.
Insights Gained
I have learned that Nutritional Therapy is very beneficial especially for young adults like
me, to prevent any diseases that may occur when I’am old. I have also learned that life is
precious and shouldn’t be taken for granted by eating foods bad for you and smoking and
drinking alcohol.
I have also learned through this research that vegetarianism is good especially to prevent
any diseases caused by eating meat. Also, by eating meat, we kill animals that should be taken
cared of by us humans because god made us the stewards for all that is in the earth.
