3. CONCEAL VULNERABILITIES
When we are working closely with people, we come across their weaknesses and vulnerabilities.
To maintain love and excellent relationships we must protect their honor and conceal their
shortcomings. The Prophet ﷺsaid, ‘Whoever conceals the vulnerability of his brother Muslim,
then Allah will conceal his vulnerability on the Day of Rising. Whoever exposes the vulnerability of
his brother Muslim, then Allah will expose his vulnerability to the extent that He will bring disgrace
upon him in his own house’ I bn Majah. Not only will we gain the pleasure of Allah but we will also get
rewarded as Allah will hide many of our own shortcomings and we save ourselves from the
punishment of Allah.
Allah says in Quran, ‘People who love to see filth being spread about concerning those who have
Iman will have a painful punishment both in this dunya and the akhirah’ (Surah an-Nur :19)
4. BE OPEN MINDED
We should receive criticism constructively, Umar ibn Al-Khattab said. “The most beloved of people
to me is he that points out my flaws to me’ and he also said, “Whosoever shows you your faults is
your friend. Those that pay you lip service in praise are your executioners.”
B. Build Trust
“Sometimes the people with the worst past create the best future.” Umar ibn Al-Khattab
C. Make Friends
“To be alone you avoid bad company. But to have a true friend is better than being alone.”
Umar ibn Al-Khattab
People of knowledge say that If anyone is unselfish and sincere in his love for the creation then he
becomes the beloved of his Lord. Such people will find themselves on pulpits of light on the Day of
Resurrection. The Prophets (alaihimus salam) and the Shuhada (martyrs) will envy them for the
exceptional reception accorded to them and for their nearness to Allah.
The Prophet ﷺsaid that, “The parable of the believers in their affection, mercy, and compassion
for each other is that of a body. When any limb aches, the whole body reacts with sleeplessness
and fever.” [Bukhari]
