Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY)

Aim: Financial Inclusion / Bank account to every Indian.

1. Zero balance savings account


2. Cheque book , pass book and RuPay Debit card will be provided.
3. Accident insurance cover of Rs. 1,00,000.
4. Rs. 30, 000 life cover for those opening the account by 26 January 2015.(LIC)
5. Overdraft (loan) facility of Rs. 5000 would be provided on completing 6 months.
6. Money transfer can be done (via Indian bank).

7. Eligibility/Age Limit: Any minor with age above 10 years can open the account.
8. By 10 February 2016, over 20 crore(200 million) bank accounts were opened and ₹323.78
billion were deposited under the scheme.

Launched : 16th October 2014
Aim: Creating conducive environment for industrial development .

1. Shram Suvidha Portal: Labour Identification Number (LIN) to nearly 6 lakhs units and
allow them to file online compliance for 16 out of 44 labour laws

2. Random Inspection Scheme: Utilizing technology to eliminate human discretion in


selection of units for Inspection where uploading of Inspection Reports within 72 hours
of inspection is mandatory
3. Universal Account Number: Enables 4.17 crore employees to have their Provident Fund
account portable, hassle-free and universally accessible
4. Apprentice Protsahan Yojana: Reimbursing 50% of the stipend paid to apprentices
during first two years of their training
5. Revamped Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojana: Smart Card for the workers in the
unorganized sector seeded with details of two more social security schemes.

Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana


For rural poor

Launched : 25th September 2014

Aim: To support poor and marginalized rural people to acess benefits

By : Union Ministry of Rural Development

1. Demand led skill training at no cost to the rural poor


2. Mandatory coverage of socially disadvantaged groups (SC/ST 50%; Minority 15%; Women
33%)
3. Post-placement support, migration support and alumni network
4. Guaranteed Placement for at least 75% trained candidates
5. Nurturing new training service providers and developing their skills
6. All inspections are supported by geo-tagged, time stamped videos/photographs.

Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana

Launched : 15th July 2015


Aim: To provide skilled training for 24 lakh indian youth.
By : Union Ministry of Skill Development and
National skill development corporation(NSDC).

1. Monetory reward for trainees with certification on completing the trainging


successfully . The reward will be around 8000/- per trainee .

2. Sector skill council and the state government will monitor the functioning.
MUDRA Bank

Launched : 8th April 2015


Aim:Financial Incluion/ Fund the unfunded
By : Union Ministry of Skill Development and National
skill development corporation(NSDC).

For loans upto Rs 10 lakhs for non-farm income generating activities


Types
1. Shishu : covering loans upto 50,000/-
2. Kishor : covering loans above 50,000/- and upto 5 lakh
3. Tarun : covering loans above 5 lakh and upto 10 lakh
*No processing fee
*No collateral
*Repayment period of loan is extended up to 5 years

Pradhan Mantri Ujjawala yojana

Launched : 1st May 2016 (Ballia, Uttar Pradesh)


Aim:Free LPG connections to 5 crore women beneficiaries
from BPL families over the next 3 years
By : Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas.

1. Rs 8000 crore has been earmarked for providing five


crore LPG connections to BPL households.
2. Provides a financial support of Rs 1600 for each LPG
connection to the BPL households.
3. This Scheme would be implemented over 3 years.

Launched : 1st July 2015
Aim: Inclusive growth in areas of electronic services, products, manufacturing and job
opportunities

Digital India is centred on three key areas -

Launched : 25th September 2014


Aim: To transform India into a global design and manufacturing hub.(Increase FDI)

Objective:
Increase in manufacturing sector growth to 12-14% per annum .

• An increase in the share of manufacturing in the country’s Gross Domestic Product from
16% to 25% by 2022.
• To create 100 million additional jobs by 2022 in manufacturing sector.
• Creation of appropriate skill sets among rural migrants and the urban poor for inclusive
growth.
• Enhancing the global competitiveness of the Indian manufacturing sector.

Sukanya Samridhi Yojana

Launched : 25 January 2015
Aim: Small deposit scheme for girl child
1. Launched as a part of the ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao' campaign, with an interest rate of
9.1% and income tax rebate.
2. The account can be opened in any post office or authorised branches of commercial
banks.
3. 'Sukanya Samriddhi Account'can be opened at any time from the birth of a girl child till
she attains the age of 10 years, with a minimum deposit of Rs 1000. A maximum of Rs 1.5
lakh can be deposited during a financial year.
4. The account will remain operative for 21 years or marriage of the girl child after
attaining 18 years of age.
5. To meet the requirement of higher education expenses, partial withdrawal of 50 % of
the balance would be allowed after the girl child has attended 18 years of age.

Swachh Bharat Abhiyan

Launched : 2nd October 2014


Aim : To have clean India by 2019 which is the 150th birth anniversary of Mahathma Gandhi.
By : Ministry of Urban Development and Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation(Rural)

Objective:
1. To eradicate the system of open defecation in India.
2. To convert the insanitary toilets into pour flush toilets.
3. To remove the system of manual scavenging.
4. To make people aware of healthy sanitation practices by bringing behavioural changes in
people.

Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana(SAGY)

Launched : 11th October 2014


Aim : PM has requested all Members of Parliament (MP) to develop 1 model village in their
constituency by year 2016 and 2 more by 2019

List of a few important adoptions :

1. Under the scheme,Narendra Modi has adopted Jayapur village his constituency Varanasi
in Uttar Pradesh
2. Sonia Gandhi adopted Udwa village in her constituency Rae Bareli in Uttar Pradesh.
3. Rahul Gandhi adopted Deeh village in his constituency Amethi in Uttar Pradesh.
4. V. K. Singh adopted Mirpur Hindu in his constituency Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh.
5. Ahmed Patel adopted Vandari village in Rajpipada, Gujarat.
6. Sachin Tendulkar adopted Puttamraju vari Kandriga(P.R.Kandriga) a village near Gudur
in Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh.

Important Facts

1. The government set a target of achieving 100 per cent literacy in villages adopted 
under the Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana by March 2016
2. Launched by the Prime Minister of Indiaon birth anniversary of Jayaprakash Narayan.

3. Each member of parliament needs to choose one village each from the constituency that
they represent (other than his own or in­law's village)

4. Vilages selected should be developed by 2016.

5. Villages will be offered smart schools, universal access to basic health facilities and 
Pucca housing to homeless villagers.

Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation


(AMRUT)

Launched : 29th April 2015


Aim : To devolop infrastructure in 500 cities and towns

Important Facts

1. AMRUT mission is intended to improve


infrastructure in small cities having population of
one lakh and above on services relating to water
supply, sewerage, transport and development
of green spaces among others.

2. Rajasthan was the first state in the country to


submit State Annual Action Plan under Atal
Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT).

3. The scheme Housing for All by 2022 and Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban
Transformation (AMRUT) were launched on the same day.

4. The scheme is dependent with public private partnership model(PPP) model.

5. AMRUT is actually a new version of the existing JNNURM and will extend support to till
2017 to those projects that are at least 50% complete under the earlier JNNURM.
50000 crore rupees will be spent under the mission over next five years

Deendayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana


(DDUGJY)

Launched : 25th July 2015 in Patna


Aim : To provide continuous power supply to rural India.
By : Ministry of Power
Objectives:
1. To provide electrification to all villages
2. Feeder separation to ensure sufficient
power to farmers and regular supply to
other consumers
3. Improvement of Sub-transmission and
distribution network to improve the
quality and reliability of the supply
4. Metering to reduce the losses

1. The scheme will replace the existing Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidyutikaran Yojana
(RGGVY).
2. Inspired from the similar pioneering scheme implemented by the Government of Gujarat
named JyotiGram

Heritage City Development and Augmentation Yojana scheme

Aim : To develop heritage cities.

Aim : Ganga Rejuvenation

1. Namami Gange is 100% centrally


funded
2. officially known as Integrated Ganga
Conservation Mission project or ‘Namami Ganga Yojana’.
3. Ganga Action plan started in 1986(Rajiv Gandhi).
4. Ganga is spread over 11 states that constitutes 26% of the country’s land mass.
5. Will cover 8 states, 47 towns & 12 rivers under the project.
6. Rs. 20,000 crore has been sanctioned.
7. Over 1,632 gram panchayats on the banks of Ganga to be made open defecation-free
by 2022.
8. Centre for Ganga River Basin Management and Studies has been launched in New
Delhi
9. Domestic donors funding shall be eligible for tax benefit (Swachh Bharat Kosh).

Atal Pension Yojana


Launched : 9th May 2015
Aim : Pension scheme in India targeted at the
unorganised sector
By : Ministry of Finance

1. The scheme is headed to replace the


Swavalamban Scheme.
2. Guarantees a minimum pension amount at the age of 60 from 1000 /month to Rs.
5000 /month depending upon their contributions.
3. Minimum age for joining APY is 18 years
4. Maximum age is 40 years.
5. Subscriber need to contribute for minimum 20years.
6. The Central Government will contribute 50% of the subscriber’s contribution or Rs.
1000 per annum for a period of 5 years.
7. Scheme will be linked to the bank accounts opened under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan
Yojana.

Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (Accident insurance)

Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Yojana(Life insurance)

Aim : Insurance Policies

6. Age : 18 to 50 years (With Bank Accounts)
PMSBY
1. Accident insurance scheme in India
2. Accidental insurance cover of 2 Lakhs for accidental death or full disability
3. Partial permanent Disability will get 1lakh.
4. Available for all savings bank account holders
5. Annual Premium of Rs12+ Service tax
6. Cover for 1 year and renewable every year
7. Age : 18 to 70 years (With Bank Accounts)
8. Only one PMSBY cover per account.

Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana

Launched : 9th May 2015 (Kolkata)


Aim : National mission to improve farm productivity and better utilization of resources
By : Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare

Gold Schemes (5th Nov 2015)


Gold Monetisation Scheme

#This will replace Gold Deposit Scheme (1999)


#Tagline: Earn while you secure

Indian households and institutions hold nearly 20,000 tons of


gold.
The total value of this gold reserve is $1 trillion (US Dollars).

Benefits:
1. As low as 30 grams of gold can be deposited.
2. There will be no income tax, wealth tax or capital gains
tax levied on the Gold Deposit Accounts.
3. Interest Rate on GMS would be 2.25% to 2.5%.
4. There is no maximum limit

Sovereign Gold Bond

#Tagline: Invest Wisely Earn Safely


1. SGBs are papers or certificates issued by the government
saying that investors bought a certain amount of gold.
2. The Bond is issued by Reserve Bank on behalf of
Government of India.

Benefits

•Available both in demat and paper form.


•Tenure of the bond - 8 years
•Option to exit in 5th, 6th and 7th years.
•Bonds can be used as collateral for loans.
•Sovereign Gold Bonds will be issued on payment of rupees and denominated in grams of gold.
•Minimum investment in the bond shall be 2 grams.
•The bonds can be bought by Indian residents or entities and is capped at 500 grams.

Indian Gold Coin

PAHAL

Aim : Direct Benefits Transfer for LPG (DBTL)

Tagline : Get Your Money, Save Public Money

1. Relaunched in 54 Districts on 15th Nov-2014


2. Previous PAHAL scheme made it mandatory for the LPG user to have an Aadhar Card
3. New modification in the scheme offers subsidy both with Aadhar card and without
Aadhar card.
4. 1st Phase and will be launched in the rest of the 622 districts of the country on 1.1.2015.
5. LPG consumers can join the scheme by providing their Aadhaar number to LPG distributor
and to Bank.
6. LPG consumers who do not have Aadhaar number can
a. Give Bank details to LPG distributor OR
b. Give 17 digit LPG ID to the Bank (select banks only).

Soil Health Card

Launched : 15th Nov 2014 (Suratgarh, Rajasthan.)


Aim : Promoting soil test based and balanced use of fertilisers to enable farmers realise
higher yields at lower cost.
Tagline : Swasth Dharaa. Khet Haraa

1. Issue soil cards to about 14 crore farmers spread all over India.
2. The card is a printed report. It will be given to farmers once in three years for his farm or
land holding.
3. Punjab becomes first state to issue Soil Health Cards to farmers.

Objectives

1. To provide a basis to address nutrient


deficiencies in fertilization practices.
2. To strengthen functioning of Soil Testing
Laboratories (STLs) through capacity building.

3. To diagnose soil fertility related constraints with


standardized procedures.

4. To develop and promote soil test based nutrient


management.

5. Dissemination of soil testing results through SMSs


will be enabled.
