Executive Summary
Green Guardians is dedicated to providing a quality choice
for people looking for plant and garden supplies, as well as
serving contractors who need a reliable source of products.
We will offer a wide variety of plants, trees, vegetable plants,
along with a selection of garden supplies. Most of the plants
we sell will be grown in our greenhouses. With a
convenient location Green Guardian intends to successfully
market to the residential customer, as well as contractors
and for office decor.
We would like to see a five to ten percent increase in our
customer base each year. Our marketing strategy includes
providing a knowledgeable staff, affordable prices, a great
location, and top notch customer service.
Also we have online services as well that includes one day
delivery, weekly feedback, reminder services etc

“We’re the Green Guardians plant nursery and we’ve
planning to planting and offering a wide range of indoor
plants, outdoor plants, ikebana flowers and organic
farming products, herbs, fruits etc. here in Mumbai. We
believe in only sourcing ethically farmed plants,
planting them in our own farm, and serving fresh plants
to our customers at a fair price. We wanted to start this
business because we love plants, and our passion is to
decorate every home with beautiful plants and flowers
and keep every family healthy. We love exploring new
flowers, trees, plants and vegetables, and believed
there was a better direction for this.

 RED-EDGED DRACAENA
Red-edged dracaena, also known as dragon tree, is beautiful and useful
for purifying indoor air. It prefers a brightly lighted area, though it can
tolerate lower light conditions, too. Allow it to dry out between watering
to get the most from it.

How to Care for Red-Edge Dracaena:

Light: Bright filtered light indoors. Tolerates low
but will not grow.
Humidity: Moderate preferred, Tolerates dry air.

Temperature: 75-85 F (24-29 C) days, 65 F (18 C)

 PEACE LILY
The peace lily offers elegance and
beauty with a unique look. It prefers
bright, indirect light but also does
well in medium, indirect light. When
it needs water, it will tell you by
getting droopy leav es. After
watering, it perks back up in
response. You can also mist it
occasionally for added humidity.

Operational Plan
The plan is to focus on prov iding quality bedding, hanging and v egetable
plants along with a v ariety of potted trees.
Our major aim is to serv e both residential customers and landscaping
contractors and prov ide a variety of garden accessories such as ponds,
statues, potting soils, fertilizers and garden tools.
Our major customer base are the amount of homeowners and industries that
will come for our plants and also industries that will come for the raw
materials from our plant nursery.
The idea is to register our business with online portals so that potential
customers can easily reach the business. We will also dev elop our online
website showcasing the operations of the business, our inventory hours of
operation and other serv ices offered by website of the business.
In order to promote the business we will be using various online social and
electronic media platforms and also advertise on business channels and
financial programs and real estate so as to reach out to our target customers.
 Personnel: The number of employees w ill depend on the amount of w ork allotted to each
department. The v arious departments will include HR and Administrativ e Executive, Accountant,
forest nursery worker, forest assistant nursery, greenhouse worker, marketing and sales manager,
security guard and these w ill be gov erned by the Manager.
Sources of I ncome: The plan is to offer a w ide v ariety of bedding plants, shrubs, trees, and v
egetable plants along w ith many garden accessories such as fountains, stepping stones, garden
tools, fertilizers and potting soils. The main source of revenue w ill come from direct sale of
plant and trees from our outdoor and indoor facility. We plan to sell to both landscape
contractors as w ell as individual customers. We also generate secondary
rev enue systems such by organizing by transportation of big trees and plants.
Sales Forecast: Our sales projections will be analyzed from tw o main rev enue streams: the
general public and the contractors. The ov erall sales will be based on modest grow th rate for
sales.
Pricing Strategy: Our strategy will be based on serving customers with expert service and
product knowledge to build our marketing plan to reach customers, homeowners, renters, and
contractors, to focus on satisfying the needs of our customers, and to focus on
prov iding quality plants at affordable prices. In order to get the right pricing for our plants,
w e need to make sure that w e choose a good location for Plant Nursery, choose a good breed /
seeds that w ill bring forth bountiful harvest, reduce the cost of running our plant nursery to the
smallest minimum and make sure w e attract buyers to our business, as against taking our plants
to the market to source for buyers; with this, w e would have successfully remov ed the cost of
transporting the goods to the market and other logistics from the equation.
 Generating Funding for Startup Business: Finance basically is a very crucial factor
when it comes to building any business and building a successful business is not a one
day job but a continuous job that requires consistency and hard work. Since ours is a
privately owned firm. Following are the possibilities to raise funds for the business:
Raising part of the start up capital from personal savings
Raising part of start up capital from family members and friends
Raising a larger chunk of the start up capital from banks.
Legal Environment: Obtaining licenses and bonding equipment's from the
government. Obtaining health workplace or environmental regulations. Bringing

Expansion and Management: Since the plant nursery industry is highly competitive
and how important it is to maintain customer service, offer customer service and give
our prospective clients a very large variety of
choices whenever they are shopping for plants and trees. It is necessary that we
maintain a high level customer service by providing quality products by offering a
large variety of plants, trees and garden supplies. Exceptional
customer relationship management will ensure in meeting the needs of target
markets. Health plants will be top priority and we will make sure that the plants

 Method of Production: The mother plants planted for v egetative and seed propagation and
seed propogated plants such as seasonal flower seedlings will be raised for sale simultaneously. I
mportant factors to be considered are agro climatic conditions, soil types, irrigation facilities, soil
pH, market demand etc.
Location: The plant w ill be located near marketing centers for convenience of transportation
of the product w ith minimum or no damage. The site needs to be conv enient enough for
transportation of input materials also. I t is important to dev elop a perennial source of w ater
inside the nursery. If required, w ind breaks of tall plants like eucalyptus, anola, seedling mango
can be planted to prov ide necessary shade and protection.
Product Choice: The product choice w ill primarily depend on the market demand in nearby
areas. Varieties of various ornamental plants like shade lov ing foliage plants, flowering plants,
creepers, plants suitable for parks, gardens and roadside plantations, offices, business houses,
hospitals, residential buildings, etc. may be propagated in the nursery. Planting materials such as
seedlings of flow ers, bulbs, corms, etc. may also be produced.
Methods of Propagation: Plants may be raised by seeds or v egetative propagation and tissue
culture. Various methods of propagation include Cutting, Layering, Div ision and Separation,
Grafting, Budding.
