WHAT IS SYLLABLE AND SYLLABLE

COUNT ?
• Syllable is a combination of Alphabets, parts in which the word is
broken for Pronunciation is called Syllable.
• Syllable must contains Vowels i.e A,E,I,O,U
• You can determine how many syllables in a word has based on how
many vowels are in that word?

Ex: Pen (1 – Syllable)


Monkey = Mon/key (2 – syllables)
Elephant = E/le/phant – (3 - syllables)
Education = E/du/ca/tion ( 4- syllables)
Examination = E/xa/mi/na/tion (5 - syllables)
