Xianxia Homebrew

Preface:
This Homebrew was inspired by reading (probably too much) Xianxia novels, my love of
tinkering with things... and my tendency to make convoluted multiclass characters.
So beware: this thing messes up almost anything related to classes and levelling.

Oh, and also: this is purely speculative as I have never been a DM (not counting that 1-h
"session"(quotes because it was very loosely based on 5e in which I had a general idea how
it worked after about 4 sessions of a campaign that switched from our homemade disaster
system to 5e) where I had 2 players (one who had absolutely no idea what a RPG is and
another one who wanted his character's pet mouse to be responsible for his character's
thinking) and we all weren't exactly "sober" I'd say)

I know, I could just refluff some things from PHB/DMG and use some splatbooks...
But I love to tinker with things.

Glossary:
Cultivator: Any sentient being that Cultivates.
(That includes PC, many of NPC's Monsters(for example a Dire Wolf that is a Rogue5/Assassin1 would
be a cultivator (and is completely possible and even somewhat common), or a Greatsword that has is
Barbarian1/Fighter1/Sorcerer3 and can turn itself into say, an elf is a totally legit thing, or a
BUILDING, or... you get the idea, oh yeah, old things artifacts can become sentient spontaneously,
thus being eligible to become a cultivator)

Cultivation: Act of gathering the Essence of the Universe/Natural Qi/Ambient Magic/whatever you
call it into oneself to strengthen and temper mind, body and soul.

Qi: the "fuel " for all those awesome things Cultivators can do, like walking on water, throwing
around bolts of lightning, spitting flames or acid or whatever, running really fast, teleporting, flying,
regrowing limbs, destroying mountains with a punch or not getting killed when receiving one of
those, etc...
(Acts as a resource for

Cultivation Method: A manual of sorts that guides the Cultivator in their Cultivation, determines how
they change during cultivation, can be mostly split into two paths: Body refining (hard to kill, hits like
a meteorite) and Qi refining (does magicky stuff, relatively fragile)
Different Cultivation Methods may require different amounts of Essence to raise.
Comprehension : Ability to understand the world, learn things and the like. Necessary to make a
Breakthrough.

Breakthrough: Every once in a while a cultivator hits a wall during their cultivation that can only be
overcome by adventuring, experiencing the world and Comprehending... stuff
