Five ways to improve creative writing skills

Creative writing skills are an important aspect for a writer as it is a way


of communication through writing with the reader. It is little tough for
any starter but it gets better with time. It is a form where the writer
produces imagination, innovation which creates a story that is visualized
by the reader when it reads its writing.
The five ways to improve creative writing skills are:-
1. Punctuations: - While writing we can use various punctuation
marks, which would create a different sense and cause an impact
on the reader as it reads through the article. It can make the reader
understand the writing with expressions.

2. Visual description: - Using of photographs for describing different


things, especially in children story books creates a visual
imagination in the child making it read more and enjoy the story.

3. Using active voice instead of passive voices: - Using of passive


voice most of the time is one of the most common manifestations
of bad writing. In English the most basic sentence structure is
subject+verb+object, it usually requires more words and use of
“to be”. But there in science writings wherein passive voice is
generally used.

4. Using of simple, clear and direct words: - For a good creative


writing, it must be simple, clear and direct. Using of a multi
syllable words is not a good way when it can be expressed in a
short one. It is all about using of right words and not just filling the
page. If a phrase does not add anything valuable it is of no use.

5. Avoiding generalization: - One must avoid generalization of any


fact without examining it, as it may create a kind of negative
impact in the mind of the reader. Generalization of given facts is
considered but if we try to compare with things that we have not
gone through may make the writing a bad one.
