RRU3832 Description 1 Overview

1 Overview

The RRU3832 is an outdoor remote radio unit which is powered by a power cabinet. It is an
RF module of the distributed base station and is installed close to the antenna. The RRU3832
performs modulation, demodulation, data processing, and combination and division of
baseband signals and RF signals. The RRU3832 works in 2T4R mode and a single module
supports four-way receive diversity.
The software version of the RRU3832 (2100MHz/AWS) is RAN15.0, which is compatible
with the N-1 and N-2 versions of NodeBs, MBSCs, and OSS NEs. Therefore, the RRU3832
(2100MHz/AWS) can be used with products of RAN13.0, RAN14.0 and RAN15.0. All these
three versions include the RRU3832 (2100MHz/AWS) software components. The RRU3832
(2100MHz/AWS) used in RAN13.0, RAN14.0, and RAN15.0 has no impact on product KPIs.
The software version of the RRU3832 (AWS-3) is SRAN11.0, which is compatible with the
N-1 version of MBTSs, MBSCs, and OSS NEs. Therefore, the RRU3832 (AWS-3) can be
used with products of SRAN10.1 and SRAN11.0. Both the two versions include the
RRU3832 (AWS-3) software components. The RRU3832 (AWS-3) used in SRAN10.1 and
SRAN11.0 has no impact on product KPIs.

RRU3832 Description 2 Technical Specifications

 The receiver sensitivity of UMTS, as recommended in 3GPP TS 25.104, is calculated by deducting

the antenna gain from the receiver sensitivity measured at the antenna connector on condition that
the channel rate reaches 12.2 kbit/s and the bit error rate (BER) does not exceed 0.001.
 The receiver sensitivity of LTE, as recommended in 3GPP TS 36.104, is calculated by deducting the
antenna gain from the receiver sensitivity measured at the antenna connector under the condition of
a 5 MHz channel bandwidth based on the FRC A1-3 in Annex A.1 (QPSK, R = 1/3, 25 RBs)
standard.

2.4 Output Power

 The RRU3832 has an RF module with two TX channels.
 The RRU3832 can work in single TX mode, MIMO mode, or combination of the two modes.
 The two TX channels of the RRU3832 can be configured with different transmit power. Each TX
channel supports a maximum of four carriers and its maximum output power is 60 W.
 The output power per carrier in the output power tables indicates the maximum output power
supported to ensure network performance.

2.5 Power Consumption

 The typical power consumption and the maximum power consumption are measured when the
ambient temperature is 25°C.
 The typical power consumption for UMTS is measured when the load is 40%. The maximum power
consumption for UMTS is measured when the load is 100%.
 The typical power consumption for LTE is measured when the load is 50%. The maximum power
consumption for LTE is measured when the load is 100%.
