This manual explains the procedure needed to install and use the Detnov Software
Suite. The Detnov Software Suite includes the software for the following products:
The configuration software for the Conventional Panel of Detnov allows the
modification of the configuration parameters setted by default in the panel. It also allows
the modification of the maneovers configured by default in the panel and the creation of
new ones, both simple and logic.
The configuration software for the Extinguishing Panel of Detnov allows the user
to modify all the settings pre-configured by default in the panel in order to customize the
operation of the extinguishing process. This software also allows the download of the list
of the events (alarms and faults) stored in the panel and the list of configuration modes
in which the panel has been operating.
The software for the Analog Panels of Detnov allows the configuration of an analog
instrallation , editing the type and descriptions of the elements, loops and zones, creating
maneouvers both simple and logic, and managing the special configuration modes and
the Advanced options of the panel.

2- Installation guide
This chapter defines the steps needed for a correct installation of the Detnov’s Software
Suite.
In order to install the drivers, it is mandatory to connect the analog panel to your
PC.
The Zadig window will appear as a last step of the CAD configuration software:

Make sure the Conventional Panel is not powered and connect the FTDI cable from the
connection labeled with “CONF” of the Conventional panel to an usb port of your PC.
The first time you connnect the panel to your PC you will need to install the FTDI drivers.
The Windows Found New Hardware Wizard should appear when connecting the FTDI
cable to your PC. All you have to do is to specify you want to Install the drivers from
a list or specific location, and then select the directory where the Detnov Conventional
Software has been installed, usually C:\Program Files\Detnov\Detnov’s Software Suite\
Conventional Panel Software\Drivers_FTDI. Click next and the drivers will be installed.
To make sure the installation has been successful, go to the Windows Device Manager
and check that a new COM port has appeared in the tree “Ports (COM & LPT)”. This is
the port number you will use for the communications with the panel.
If it hasn’t appear but you see an unknown device instead you have to
right-click over the device , select “update driver” and repeat the previous process.
Once the drives have been installed, power on the panel and run the Program.
The first step is to select the number of zones of your Conventional Panel and the external
modules you have connected to it. For instance, in case you have a conventional panel of
4 zones with one sounders auxiliar card and one relay auxiliar card, you must configure the
main tab as is showed in the following image:

• OUTPUTS: Shows the possible actions that can be associated to a sigle o multiple events
in a maneouver.
• EVENT/ACTION TABLE: Shows the created maneouvers. Each row contains a single o
multiple event related with an action.
At this point, you should see all the maneouvers stored in your panel in the EVENT/ACTION

3.3.1- Customizing the maneouvers
You can modify the maneuvers created by default , editting , removing or adding new
maneuvers with a maximum of 40 of 12 events each.

ES
If you modify the maneouver parameters in the editing window and then save this new
configuration, you will be able to see the new maneouver in the Event/Action Table.
The simplest way to create a maneuver is by selecting in the Inputs section the event or
events you want to originate the maneuver, and double click over the corresponding action
form the Actions section. For selecting more than one event, use the key control while
clicking over all the selected events.

You can also create a new maneouver by clicking over the button “add maneuver” .
Then a dialog asking the number of maneuvers will appear. After accepting you will see
a new dialog where you can select the inputs and outputs of the maneuver. Once all the
fields are filled and the operation is accepted, the new maneuver created will be shown
in the Event/Action table.

The Configuration Software for the Analog Panel allows the creation and management of the
maneuvers configured in the Analog Panel. It is possible to create two kind of maneuvers,
simple and logic. The simple maneuvers are created by a pair event-action, whereas the
logic maneouvers are composed for many events associated to a single action.

elements of your installation that can generate an event, and the Outputs table, with all
the elements that can generate an action. At the bottom of the screen there are the two
maneuver tables, one under the Inputs table, that will show the maneuvers associated
to the selected input element, and another under the Outputs table, that shows the
maneuvers associated to the selected output element.

In order to create a maneuver either drop an input element until the desired output element,
or select both the input and the output element, and double-click over the output element.
Automatically the maneuver will appear on the maneuver tables and the involved elements
will be marked with arrows , indicating that the elements are involved in a maneouver.

selected zones. When an element enters in alarm activation, it will be reseted and if it get’s
activated again before the first delay is over, the panel to which it belongs will show the
alarm state but the alarm will not be spread through the network, neither the associated
maneuvers will take place. If the panel is not reseted, this state will continue until the
second delay is over, then the alarm will have the normal effect, it will be spread through
the other panels and the associated maneuvers will be activated.
29
• Sensibility mode: The sensitivity of the detectors can be modified to adapt its threshold
to different environments. The possible modes are: very low , low, normal, high, very high.ç
• Opto-Heat mode: This mode allows to modify the behavior of the Opto-heat detectors to
make them work as only opto or only heat.
