Simple Pendulum Lab

This document describes an experiment to determine the acceleration due to gravity, g, using a simple pendulum. Students measure the time period of a pendulum with different lengths and plot T2 versus length L to determine g from the slope. The expected result is 9.8 m/s2, the standard value of g. Precautions include ensuring small oscillations and accurate measurement of length and time period. The experiment teaches students about simple harmonic motion and gravitational force.
