I Love You The Way Water Loves.: The Sorrows of Water By: J.Neil Carmilo Garcia

The speaker expresses their love for another in the way that water loves - wishing to be ravaged and returned to the shore, held within their palm like a shell. They have now learned the heavy weight of responsibility as an adult in a strange, mad city where it is difficult to bear frustration and insult. Having faced their greatest fears after seven months feeling like seven years, the speaker finds themselves with a hollow soul, no longer knowing where to go now that they have learned the difficulties of being an adult.

The Sorrows of Water

By: J.Neil Carmilo Garcia

I love you
the way water loves.
Which is to say
I wish the world
were through with you,
so you could return to me
ravaged, upon this shore:
a shell
held tight
inside my palm.

Now I Know
                                                             Jose Paulo Tolentino

Seven months felt like seven years

and now I face my greatest fears
Why before I could never wait
but now I know the heavy weight.

In a strange world, a mad city,

it is tough to be an adult
                                                          you take responsibility
                                                     to bear frustration and insult

There are days I would like to die

life is not pretty as it seem
Leave this and what do I redeem?
many I have learned is just a lie

They say I should create a goal

Love and life is what you make it
but somehow it just could not fit
All I have is a hollow soul

From here I don't know where to go

Being an adult, now I know.
