GROUP PROJECT GUIDELINES – STA108

GENERAL GUIDELINE
1. Students are required to form a group.

Group 1-8: 4 members


Group 9 &10: 5 members

2. All groups are required to submit the softcopy of the report and infographic (poster)
by 26th JUNE 2020 (FRIDAY) before 5.00 p.m.

SPECIFIC GUIDELINES
Written Report
1. Topic 1 and 2 (Introduction to statistics and Descriptive statistics)
 Find two set of raw data where the data set must be more than 50.
 For each of the data please state:
 Population
 Sample
 Sampling frame
 Sampling unit
 Variable
 Type of variable
 Level of measurement
 Analyse the data using:
 the suitable graph
 measures of central tendency
 measures of positions
 measures of dispersion
 measures of skewness
- Analyse and interpret the data using SPSS.

2. Topic 3 (Correlation and regression)


 Find two sets of data and analyse the data using SPSS.
 For each of the data set please state:
a) Identify the independent and dependent variable.
b) Construct a scatter plot.
c) Explain the value of the coefficient of determination.
d) State the Pearson product moment correlation coefficient. Interpret the
value obtained.
e) State the estimated regression line.
f) Interpret the value of the slope and intercept of the regression line
obtained in (e).
3. Please attach your SPSS output in Appendix section.

2. Input for infographic based on written report produced contains four criteria;

3. It will be evaluated based on four criteria;
