Demo Which has had a knock-on effect to the demo prep steps. The new steps are as
Prep follows:
1. Ensure that the MT17B-WS2016-NAT, 20779B-MIA-DC, 20779B-
MIA-SQL, and 20779B-MIA-CLI virtual machines are all running.
2. Log on to 20779B-MIA-SQL as ADVENTUREWORKS\Student
with the password Pa55w.rd.
3. Using Internet Explorer, browse to
https://github.com/Microsoft/sql-server-
samples/releases/download/adventureworks/AdventureWorks2012.ba
k.
4. In the notification bar, click the Save drop-down arrow, and then
click Save as.
5. In the Save As dialog box, navigate to D:\, and then click Save.
6. Close Internet Explorer.
7. Start SQL Server Management Studio.
8. In the Connect to Server dialog box, in the Server name box, type
MIA-SQL.
9. In the Authentication box, ensure that Windows Authentication
is selected, and then click Connect.
10. In Object Explorer, right-click Databases, and then click Restore
Database.
11. In the Restore Database dialog box, click Device, and then click
the ellipsis (…).
12. In the Select backup devices dialog box, click Add.
13. In the Locate Backup File - MIA-SQL dialog box, navigate to D:,
click AdventureWorks2012.bak, and then click OK.
14. In the Select backup devices dialog box, click OK.
15. In the Restore Database - AdventureWorks2012 dialog box,
click OK.
16. In the Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio dialog box,
click OK.
17. In Object Explorer, expand Security, right-click Logins, and then
click New Login.
18. In the Login - New dialog box, in the Login name box, type
Student, and then click SQL Server authentication.
19. In the Password and Confirm password boxes, type Pa55w.rd.
20. Clear the Enforce password policy check box.
21. Under Select a page, click User Mapping.
22. In the User mapped to this login section, select the
AdventureWorks2012 check box.
23. In the Database role membership for: AdventureWorks2012
section, ensure the db_owner check box is selected, and then click
OK.

24. Close SQL Server Management Studio.


25. On the Start menu, type Windows Firewall, and then click
Windows Firewall.
26. Click Turn Windows Firewall on or off, under Domain network
settings, click Turn off Windows Firewall, and then click OK.
27. Log off 20779B-MIA-SQL.

Then in the demo, step 7 has to be changed as follows:

7. In the list of databases, select AdventureWorks2012.
