1. Objective： AFT_Arima_SOP (AFT：ASUS Flash Tool)

How to use AFT Arima for flashing image.

Need to unzip the image before flashing image as below.
5. Internet connection is required

If internet is failed, the AFT will not be available.
6. ASUS Flash Tool (Arima)
It’s a tool you can flash image via PC & USB cable.

6.1 Unzip AFT_Arima_XXX_XXX.zip
6.2 Execute AFT_Arima_XXX_XXX\AFT_Arima.exe

7. Driver Install：for first use and computer must be Test mode.

7.1 Power on the phone device.
7.2 Connect the phone device to this PC via USB cable.
7.3 Install ADB driver (Download Link)
7.4 Unzip file and execute install.bat
7.5 Power off the device and make sure the USB cable not connect the phone.
7.6 Press volume up key and power key for a few seconds, and then the phone will be turned on and
stop at ASUS logo.
7.7 Connect the phone to PC via USB cable.
7.8 The device manger will show Android Devices as below.

7.9 Install ADB key(Download Link)

7.10 Unzip file and execute push_adbkey_windows.bat
After installation, the device will automatically allow USB debugging
Note：If you have the problem as below, you have to install adb key for first use.

1. Execute AFT：
Please connect the device with PC by micro USB cable and execute AFT
Note：P.S Do not put Tool and Image in a path that contains special characters.
Example: ~!@#$%^&*()|{}\/?.,><`\+
2. Check version function：
If the following message appears, please update the latest version.

The download screen will automatically appear after pressing the OK button
 Please note that if this message appears, it means that you are not using the latest version, so
be sure to download it again.
 Please note that the correct version number, that is, the name of the SIP download file, such as
AFT_1.0.6_H0109, H0109 is alos one of the version number, do not ignore.
4. Power off the phone
Flashing Android image must be executed under fastboot mode, so device must power off and boot
into fastboot mode.
5. Power on and into fastboot mode

Press and hold the volume up + power key until you see the ASUS logo and then release button.

6. Make sure phone connect to PC via USB cable
Please connect the phone to PC via USB cable, and the AFT will detect and show as below.
If AFT can’t detect device, please reboot your phone and PC and have a try.
7. Make sure Android driver

Driver should be an ASUS Android Bootloader Interface without exclamation mark in PC device
manager as below.

8. Set AFT_Arima to flash image
8.1 Select “Model”

Note：ZB551KL/G550KL need to do one more step as below.
Please select the flash function you want. (Other models no this step),
And function (3)、(4) only support the Shipping_Image in phone which version is 13.2.9.101 or
later.
More details is described in the last paragraph.
8.2 Select “Wipe data” (support unlock FRP)

8.6 Press to start flashing image

Note：
 If the Shipping_Image is not the latest version, AFT will pop up a message as below.
 When you want to flash CSC_Image, and AFT pops up a message,
please ignore it.
 When tool start to flash image,

device will reboot several times.
It is normal!
ZB450KL & ZB552KL will reboot 6 times at flashing process.
ZB452KG & ZB690KG & Z171KG will reboot 3 times at flashing process.

8.7 Download Pass

 As tool starts to flash image, device description will turn blue light.
 As tool shows “Fastboot flash finish!” and device description turn green light after
download successfully, press “OK” button to close this message.
Note：
ZB551KL / G550KL → As CMD.exe window shows “Flashing has succeeded”,
press any key to close it and reboot device manually.)

9. Clean FRP button

Note：
 ZB450KG/ZB552KL will reboot 2 times and go into Android system.
Tool process It takes 2 seconds.
 ZB452KG/ZB690KG/Z171KG will reboot 3 times and go into Android system and
optimizing several apps. Tool process takes 30-60 seconds.

11. Remark：troubleshooting
11.1 Internet is required
Please don’t block the following URL if there is a firewall at your network setting.
IP addresses are dynamic except for BATTERYSOH IP address.

11.2 Another function for flashing image

You have installed drivers and ADB key, but device can’t be flashed image by AFT.
There is a way for flashing image as below
 Power on and into fastboot mode
 Open image folder and execute fastboot_flash_all.bat
 It will flash image and wait about 5-10 minutes

11.3 Check your computer is Test mode as below：
If devices in PC device manager with “exclamation mark” and can’t install driver successfully,
follow below three ways to disable the driver signature enforcement in Windows. Then you can
install any unsigned drivers without problems.
11.3.1. Open a Command Prompt with admin privileges. In Windows 10/8.1/8, press the
Windows key + X and select “Command Prompt (admin)”. In Windows 7/XP/Vista, you can
type “command prompt” in the Start search box, right-click on “Command Prompt” in the
result and select “run as administrator”.
11.3.2. Type the following command and press the Enter key：
BCDedit /set loadoptions DDISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS
BCDedit /set TESTSIGNING ON
You should receive the “The operation completed successfully” message.
Close the Command Prompt window and restart your computer.

Now you can install any unsigned drivers without problems.

11.3.3. Another way for win8/win10 to Disable Signed Driver Enforcement.

→ Click the Start menu and select Settings.
→ Click Update and Security.
→ Click on Recovery.
→ Click Restart now under Advanced Startup.
→ Click Troubleshoot.
→ Click Advanced options.
→ Click Startup Settings.
→ Click on Restart.
→ On the Startup Settings screen press 7 or F7 to disable driver signature enforcement

ZB551KL/G550KL AFT & FRP SOP

This model flashing image is different from other Arima model, it need more details of the process as
below. We explain in two processes → AFT & FRP
 AFT details of the process for ZB551KL/G550KL

1. You need to know limitations of ZB551KL/G550KL as below.
2. Table 1
AFT_Arima v1.0.6.H0109 or newer
shipping image in phone supports AFT_Arima version 13.2.9.101 or later
factory image in phone supports AFT_Arima Any version
target shipping image supports AFT_Arima version 13.2.9.101 or later
target factory image supports AFT_Arima Only WW_ZB551KL_12.1.0.2.16GPCBACS28_factory

5. AFT_Arima must be v1.0.6.H0109 or later to support ZB551KL/G550KL AFT flash image.

6. There are 4 functions of flashing image.
(1) From Factory_image to Shipping_image
(2) From Factory_image to Factory_image
(3) From Shipping_image to Factory_image
(4) From Shipping_image to Shipping_image

For example：Function (3)、(4)

Based on the above tables, you have to know limitations of Function (3)、(4)
 Make sure the shipping image in phone is version 13.2.9.101 or later when perform upper two
functions.(There is AFT flash limitation for older shipping image, but factory image no such
limitation.)
 If the shipping image in phone is earlier than version 13.2.9.101, and you hope to perform
upper two functions. Please update to 13.2.9.101 or later via fota or follow below
i. Copy factory image UL-ASUS_X013D-WW-12-1-0-2-16GPCBA23-eng.zip to micro SD card.
ii. Put the micro SD card into phone.
iii. Power off the phone
iv. Phone press “Volume down + Power key” to enter recovery mode.
(Release power key when see ASUS logo, still hold “Volume down” until see below recovery
mode screen.)
v. Use volume key to select “apply update from sdcard”, then press
“power key” to execute it.
vi. Use volume key to select
“UL-ASUS_X013D-WW-12-1-0-2-16GPCBA23-eng.zip”, then press
“power key” to execute it.
vii. It will start to flash and shows “Install from sdcard complete.”
viii. After finished, you can use AFT_Arima v1.0.6.H0109 or later to flash the
shipping_image(version 13.2.9.101 or later) you want.
