SM-Keypad Installation Sheet

The SM-Keypad is intended for use only when attached to the drive in the manner shown in this installation sheet. It is not suitable for hand-
held or remote use. Operation in any other fashion may cause a hazard, and invalidates the warranty.

1 Fitting and removal of the SM-Keypad

To fit, align the SM-Keypad and press gently in the direction shown until it clicks into position.
To remove, whilst pressing the tabs inwards (A), gently lift the display in the direction indicated (B).
NOTE N
The SM-Keypad can be fitted / removed whilst the drive is powered up and running a motor, providing that the drive is not operating in keypad mode.

2 Understanding the SM-Keypad

Mode button

Control buttons
Fwd / Rev (blue) button Joypad
Stop/reset (red) button
Start (green) button

The SM-Keypad is rated to IP 20.


2.1 Control buttons
The keypad consists of:
1. Joypad
2. One mode button
3. Three control buttons
The joypad is used to navigate the parameter structure and change parameter values.
The mode button is used to change between the display modes – parameter view, parameter edit, status.
The three control buttons are used to control the drive if keypad mode is selected.
NOTE
The red ‘stop’ button is also used to reset the drive.
2.2 Display
The display consists of two horizontal rows of 7 segment displays.
The upper display shows the drive status or the current menu and parameter number being viewed.
The lower display shows the parameter value or the specific trip type.
