FINAL FEASIBILITY

on EPC mode under Bharatmala Pariyojana Phase-I in the state of TamilNadu. REPORT
CHAPTER - 15
15.1 General
The Feasibility Report has been prepared in accordance with the preliminary survey and
investigations. Further details of the project road are being obtained.
15.2 Conclusions
Feasibility study has been carried out for the following project road
The preliminary proposals and widening options are based on preliminary survey and
investigations and are tentative only.
15.3 Recommendations
Based on the preliminary surveys and field reconnaissances carried out along the project
road of the following proposals are made at this stage of study:
Boundary Stones
Provision of slip road totaling to a length 18.010 Km and service road totaling to a
length 2.720 Km has been proposed.
23/800) Pudur.
11 nos. of Major Junctions and 12 nos. of Minor Junctions has been proposed at
Chettikulam to Natham stretch.
24 Bus lay bay with Bus Shelters has been proposed along the Project Road.
It can be seen that the project is financially not viable on BOT Toll basis with 0%,
25% & 40 % Grant under the normal scenario for Package II. It is proposed to
improve the connectivity between NH 38 and NH 785 via Thuvarankurichi –
Sirugudi – Natham Road. Hence, 30% (Approximate) of the traffic from NH
38 will be expected to travel in the proposed project road. Considering the
strategic importance and future induced traffic, the project can be taken up
on EPC (Engineering Procurement and Construction) Mode.
Provision of user facilities and Beautification of the above mentioned Tanks
present along the project stretch includes the following,
Construction of RCC retaining wall.
Pedestrian guard rails along the either side of road and sides of tanks are
proposed to be provided for the entire length of 4-tank bunds.
Tank bunds need to be leveled suitably without reducing existing top level
for construction of footpath using interlocking paver blocks for 2.0m width
for the entire length of 4-tank bunds.
Slope protections on water side using 300mm thick stone or concrete blocks
are to be provided for 4-tank bunds.
High mast lighting of 32 numbers to be provided for the existing 4 tanks in
8 directions of each tank.
Statues to be provided on ashtathick sides of 4 tank bunds.
Steps (padithurai) to be provided for each tank.
Development lawn, shrubs, children play area, stone benches with granite
top and construction of toilet blocks at the location where land is available
on tank bund are proposed.
