6.1 Executed Tests

6.2. Number of tests

3 Specimen each pipe size and property have been tested and the average results with
maximum deviations are named. Specimen were cut out of pipes with Lmin=1850mm.

6.3. Test Execution

The tests were carried out according ISO 6259-3; 1997 Thermoplastics Pipes- Determination
of tensile properties - Part 3 polyolefin pipes.
The Yield Stress, Tensile Strain at Yield and the Tensile strain at Break were determined.
Specimen acc. ISO 6259-3 type 1 were taken from the pipes with wall thickness of 5,0 – 9,0
mm (wall of pipes with wall thickness >9,0 mm are machined to wall 9,0 mm to receive
realistic and valuable results) , stored minimum of 96 hours in the same atmosphere and
tested in standard atmosphere. Initial distance between the grips was L = 115 mm, gauge
length l0 = 50 mm and testing speed 50 mm/min.
