Subject Description: This course is an introduction to the basic concepts in inferential statistics,
regression and correlation analysis. Students will study different types of statistical
testing involving the normal, chi-squared, student-t and Fisher, SD’s F distributions.
Students will also be introduced to methods of obtaining simple linear regression
lines, the calculations of the coefficients of correlation and determinations, and
nonparametric statistics.

Objectives: At the end of the course, students should be able to:

• Understand the relevant terminology, notation, concepts, techniques and theorems
in inferential statistics and regression and correlation analysis
• Conduct the appropriate statistical tests
• Make appropriate inferences from the statistical tests conducted
