Aligning the Single-polarized Antenna
Precautions
Align the antennas respectively in case of two antennas configured at both sides

Aligning the Single-polarized Antenna
Procedure (Cont.)
1. Rotate antenna in horizontal manner widely to search the highest V BNC
4. Repeat step 2 to step 5 for 2 to 4 times until get the highest V BNC at both sides

Aligning the Dual-polarized Antenna
Procedure
1. Power off the vertically polarized ODUs, power on the
horizontally polarized ODUs, and thus ensure that the
antennas transmit horizontally polarized signals
2. Adjust the azimuth angle and elevation angle of the
antennas at both ends and ensure that the main lobe of
the horizontally polarized signals is aligned with the
antenna
3. Measure the RSL (P1) of the horizontally polarized signals
at the local end

Aligning the Dual-polarized Antenna (Cont.)
Procedure
4. Adjust the feed boom at the local end, and ensure that the
RSL of the vertically polarized signals reaches the lower
threshold (P2).
5. Record the angle (D1) of the current feed boom
6. Power off the horizontally polarized ODUs, power on the
vertically polarized ODUs, and thus ensure that the antennas
transmit vertically polarized signals
7. Measure the RSL (P3) of the vertically polarized signals at
the local end by referring to step 3

Aligning the Dual-polarized Antenna (Cont.)
Procedure
8. Power on the horizontally polarized ODU at the local end, and calculate the level (P4) of the
horizontally polarized signals received at the local end by referring to step 4. The calculated
XPD2 (XPD2 = P3 – P4) should not be less than 25 dB
9. Record the angle (D2) of the current feed boom
10. Repeat step 3 to step 9 to adjust the feed boom slightly (ranging from D1 to D2), and ensure
that XPD1 and XPD2 are not less than 25 dB
11. Tighten all the screws of the antennas

Checking the Status of a Radio Link
Procedure
Observe the link indicator on the IF board
If the Link indicator on the IF board is on (green), it indicates that the radio link is normal
If the Link indicator on the IF board is on (red), check whether the data configuration of the
ODU is correct and whether the antennas are aligned

Configure the logical board.
It is an alarm indicating that the board is not in position.
Cause 1 of the alarm reported by a board of the IDU: The board is installed in an
incorrect slot.
Cause 2 of the alarm reported by a board of the IDU: The board and the backplane
are not connected properly.
5 BD_STATUS
Cause 3 of the alarm reported by a board of the IDU: The slot is faulty.
Cause 4 of the alarm reported by a board of the IDU: A certain board is faulty.

Checking Alarms--3
Cause 1: The number of E1 signals or the E1 timeslot priority at the local end of a
radio link is different from that at the other end.
Cause 2: The AM enabling is different on both ends of a radio link.
Cause 3: The 1588 overhead enabling is different on both ends of a radio link.
Cause 4: The modulation mode is different on both ends of a radio link.
Cause 5: The service mode is different on both ends of a radio link.
10 MW_CFG_MISMATCH

Checking Alarms--4
15 TEMP_ALARM It is an alarm indicating that the board temperature crosses the threshold.
Cause 1: The SFP optical module of the local site is not installed.
Find out why the SFP optical module is not installed, and contact Huawei technical
support engineers for the installation. If SFP module is not needed, see Configuring an
16 LSR_NO_FITED
SFP Port to delete this port.
Cause 2: The optical module is faulty.
Replacing the SFP.
It is an alarm indicating that the NE software is lost. This alarm is reported when the
19 NESF_LOST system control, cross-connect, and timing board detects that the NE software in the CF
cardis lost
