I try to work with InDesign on my Windows 10 PC. The Creative Cloud desktop
app works well and the Installation of InDesign went through without issues.
However, when starting InDesign I get two error messages, saying that additional
modules could not be loaded. Like:
ITEM.RPLN."
After checking OK, InDesign quits.
I'm a new starter/tester with InDesign and have no experience with additional
modules or documentations.
How can I become the InDesign running ? For me it looks simply buggy.
Thanks for you support ! Svenja from Germany

Restart the system.
Relaunch InDesign and check how it works.
Let us know if that helps!

Hi Svenja,
Sorry to hear about the trouble. I would request if you can try the steps below and
share your observation:
Could you please try booting the system into Safe Mode
(https://support.microsoft.com/en-in/help/12376/windows-10-start-your-pc-in-
safe-mode) and check if you are able to launch InDesign.
If that doesn't work, please uninstall and reinstall InDesign by using the
cleaner tool: Use the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems
Let us know if this helps or if you need any further assistance.
Regards
Rishabh

Hi Rishabh
Thanks for your prompt answer. Unfortunately trying the safe mode also ended
up in the same error messages. This time I snapped the second one to attach it
here.

It seems like there is no fix for this issue as I'm also experiencing the same
problems and have spent hours trying to get my way out of this. Help us out here

I too am now having this problem. I've used inDesign for the greater part of a
year - no problem. A couple days ago this issue arrived and I can no longer use it.
I really need access to this for a project I'm working on. I've reset my PC, done
the safe mode. I've uninstalled creative cloud, uninstalled indesign (deleting
preferences as well). Reinstalled to a brand new location. For whatever reason it
is not installing Generic Page Item.rpln as part of the package and inDesign will

Same here. Worked fine yesterday, all of the sudden I can't continue working
today because of this same error. Strange thing is, Photoshop won't start either
and some functions for Illustrator won't load because of missing plugins. That
can't be a coincidence.
